  • Two weeks ago, I posted a review for a keyboard stand from an American manufacturer I had never heard of: Liquid Stands. I was AMAZED at how great this stand was - strong, built with quality components, and versatile. In this video, I add a new accessory to this stand that doubles its usability and makes this truly one of the best keyboard stands I have ever seen!

I have just ordered my Liquid Stands Z stand with a 2nd tier. Although shipping costs to Europe exceed the selling price by far, I opted for this brand, because the products are far more flexible than what Jaspers has to offer. In fact, there is nothing like it anywhere else that has wheels. Thank you for bringing these products to my attention! Every video of your channel is highly appreciated, so keep up the good work!

All I'm asking for is an American company making 4 or 5 tier stands, so we don't have to fork over crazy money for shipping to get Jaspers. FYI I just got a liquid stand 2 weeks ago, and they are amazing, but let's get those multi tier stands going soon!

You can add 2 more tiers to the stand in this video actually (one using the inside beams and one using the outside beams). We are also working on a 3 tier "A Frame" style but now it sounds like we need to get to work on a 4 and 5 tier option ;) We're working on more cool products as fast as possible and hear all the feedback!

@@liquidstands Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. I'm telling you guys, if you make at least a 4 tier stand, it's gonna be a gold mine. There's so many of us paying big bucks to get Jaspers shipped over from Germany. As much as I like them, I'd rather spend that money on a U.S. based company! Looking forward to your new products!

@@MaladarGaming We hear you. One of the main issues is Jaspers makes a pretty solid rack already so we don't usually look to design a new item unless we can add features not on the market. This is something we will look into though. Our goal was to go from 1 tier > 2 tier > 3 tier and then consider larger racks or desks. A gold mine does sound nice though ;)

It's a big plus that the size of the 2nd tier is independent of the sitting/standing position of the main stand. I have a folding stand with a 2nd tier, which is quite good but can only accommodate specific keyboards depending on the height. The casters are also a very useful feature. Much better to roll a heavy synth around than having to pick it up.

    - They don't seem to have them here at Thomann. So it's more a US product (for now) I guess.
    - Reminds me a lot of the stand I bought here. Not gonna name-drop a competitor product here, but you know the ones Claudio reviewed one day when he got a whole bunch of them.
They have 1 cool feature that I really like (depending on the model). A bar of (8, I believe) electrical sockets that you can attach to the back, so that you can plug your gear directly in there. It helps keep cables tidier, instead of having it on the floor. The sockets are widely spaced, so that transformer blocks don't block adjacent sockets. Always easier to have a built-in sockets system, instead of having to try to attach something yourself if it's not designed for it.

It was BlackPantherSystem. Dot de. The owner also has a passion to make the best stand. Expensive though. I bought it from Thomann. But later I was looking into some accessories that I had to buy through their own website. But the website was messed up for a long time, so I wasn't able to. They are decent stands. Biggest shortcoming in my opinion is the lack of rubber pads. Synths slide like crazy on the metal. And I don't really trust the caps too much that prevent a sloped synth from sliding off to the front. Not a dealbreaker. But it was a bit of a challenge at first to find some rubber pads and how to best set up my 2 synths on it. @@liquidstands

Chose the Quick Lok Z726 over a 2nd tier for my existing Liquid Stand Z-Stand because Quik Lok offered more height adjustability of 2nd tier. I wanted my top keyboard much closer to bottom than what was possible with Liquid Stands. If they changed design to allow top tier to be lower/closer to bottom, I think it would be a better solution.

I have the same stand and I love it. I have two 2nd tiers and used one of them to add a wrap around porch as a third tier. You have to see it to understand. It holds my QS8, Hydrasynth, and now the 3rd tier holds compositions I am working on. I actually removed the Hydrasnth and put a piece of wood to use as a surface to support notating music as I compose. I appreciate the vertical space it provides. This stand is similar.

This is an excellent stand,, it's solid af which is what you want from a stand.
I have played with a P6 on a stand and almost saw the synth hit the floor due to how the person set it up.
Having a synth hit the ground is never a good idea, also a stable platform is great as I hate watching keyboards bounce round when I watch people play.
    Great upload, thx.

Yeah thats my worry too, Even though my stand looks solid with its thick tubes, I always "after thighten" the screws after each month or so, because I am worried exactly about what you mentioned, that it will come crashing down at some point either because of metal fatigue or a glitchy slidey plastic clamp....

Wow, a nice stand gets even better! Though my synths are currently on a big Jaspers stand, I may get some of these stands for expansion and to get some synths more out where I can use them better. I have a cheap X-stand and a 3rd party 2nd tier add-on but it’s very tippy… best for lightweight synths and then only when it’s against a wall. Kudos to Liquid Stands.

While I am already invested in other stands for my home studio, since seeing this, I'm thinking I could really use this as a "workbench" in my studio to repair/modify my synths and wheel it out to my garage when I'm done! I have less movement on my second tier double braced X stand by On-Stage (RD2000 & FantomO6). Plus, on the X stands I can mount standard 19inch rack gear on the upper X area. I have two, one space equalizers and a one space power conditioner on my two-tiered double braced X stands. The lateral adjustment of the Liquid second tier stands (the part that supports the synth) is impressive and necessary, good job. But work needs to be done on stability, I am solo acoustic piano performer, I am used to zero movement of my instrument; at home I would like to have the same with my synths. An "A" brace on the second tier would add 2x the stability since the first tier and main stand is very solid. Ergonomic, adjustability and stability need work on all stands today, much improvement can still be achieved by this overlooked and highly important studio necessity.
Stands are so important to me I built my main keyboard triple stand from wood, designed and constructed by me; it IS rock solid as my acoustic pianos, zero movement, and holds 3 61keyboards, 32 channel mixer, effects, active speakers and a Zoom24track recorder, a microphone stand, and a slide out flat drawer supporting two Electribes, all in a 30x40 inch space. Also stands where the bottom supports are larger than the tops (all stands except this Liquid) are a hazard, bumping my feet on the legs all the time, sometimes tripping over them. A basic design of all furniture tables it to make sure there is toe room so when approaching a table you are not tripped into to it by legs extending beyond the top surface.
I have found on all keyboard stands that adding a tabletop such as a 11x48x.5inch pine board add much of the missing stability, if this top was bolted to the stand the stability would increase by 3x. Too many stands are made to be portable, when 90% of the population of keyboard buyers are home studios that never move.

I bought a wheeled Z stand from a different brand that looks to be identical to theirs (the one in the instructions you showed and in your link).
I use it for my kurzweil 2500x (90lbs!). After a while I was having issues with the wheels, the metal box section around where they screw in had bent, stopping them from pivoting.
I fixed this with a 16mm washer and an 8mm penny washer on each wheel, spreading the force away from the rivnut to the edge of the box section, it's been perfect since, I've even added a second tier and other additions.
Do I get a free stand? Lol.

Something we've been seeing on stages are keyboards rotated backwards or keys upward because of playing ergonomics. Cutting edge would be that option as well they might want to consider. I get out my drill and add those round post that have the VESA plates and clamping hinged arms so I customize mine to hang whatever I want from them. For example I have the Iridium module, the Deckard's Dream, a touch screen and several foot pedals floating in air around me. I drill though the arms of the stands and clamp the base of the posts to the arms. Tony Stark would be proud. Any space around you including in the air is wasted space if you can't put something up there IMO.

Yes, you can. We need to create a video on this actually. To do a 3 tier setup, you will need the base stand (MS1111) and then 2 of the MS1087 and MS1118 2nd tiers. All 3 tiers will be able to adjust height and width independently. The middle tier is a little tight on space so we recommend clamping those arms on "sideways" which drops the height of them a few inches and gives you more room between the 2nd and 3rd tiers.
