I do both types of thinking. I categorize things, such as my goals. I have 4 sections of goals: self mastery, fitness, people/social goals and money. But I also plan my actions to achieve them (strategizing) this action moves me to this point, at this point I have different options in a different situation, so my thinking would change too...
I think of Te as a very powerful force with serious momentum behind because it seems like, once Te users have decided on a course of action, they are very eager to execute NOW.
Yes - definitely helps. The clarity on refinement was great. I’m training Ti, not a preferred function but necessary if I want to truly understand the content I’m studying. Thanks for the vid:)
I'm an INFP and currently working on sharpening my thinking. I had been wondering why I'm unable to remember what I learn (it's subjects like taxation and finance so it's all about analysis). I think this video has made things clearer for me - maybe better strategising will lead to better analysis? Patience will be the key 😌 Also so apt on the intellectualisation (is this even a word? :P) of every problem 😄. I'm kinda controlling the urge to do that myself right now. Great advice from your friend - "be in the problem".
Iam an ISTJ.According to the information in internet, ISTJ use extraverted thinking but I could not ascertain a clear distinction between introverted and extraverted thinking.
My INTJ approach to these problems is to search for underlying patterns and then strip away all unnecessary information until you have a clean, elegant, working model of the idea. It may not be a model that remembers 100% of the subject, but it will comfortably work with the main 80%. Things like taxation and finance are my idea of personal hell, but if my INTJ approach could offer any practical advice, it would be that these subjects are usually crammed with needless jargon that is designed to be intimidating. If you look closely at the main patterns you will usually find simple concepts instead of the baffling technical language. If you can combine enough of those stripped-back simple concepts, it will usually get you over the finishing line in assignments and exams.
This can help a lot. So INFP’s prioritize using emotional intelligence to understand whether something is GOOD or BAD (Fi). So use your Fi and combine it with your Te. Really put emotions into everything you learn. Emotions are key to helping you remember things. Example: when learning a tax law, think about how beneficial it is. Why was rule made historically? Laws are made to solve conflicts generally speaking. - income tax is made to solve social class problems, aiming to help the majority of people pay a percentage of what they own because that scales with income. HELPING MILLIONS 😁
Te as the Strategizing Commander is immensely helpful. What isn't helpful is your background music - it sounds too much like an incoming call on buried cell phone. This INFP has actually been pretty good at Te (for an INFP) but it's getting harder as I get older. So, I have to work on intentionally doing Te better. However, to access this ability intentionally, I needed a more concrete conceptualization of what Te actually is. Thanks Matt!
This video helped me so much. Thank you. I think it's better to find out what your type is by understanding each cognitive function in yourself and then looking at the chart. I can't tell you how clarifying this was.
This made soo much sense. I feel like i finally can explain it to people. I’ve just struggled with understanding the difference because i am an infp, so i don’t really prefer thinking
Great explanation and examples! I use Te/Fi axis and my husband Ti/Fe, and it's amazing how they complement each other. I only understand if I'm thinking right if I share my thoughts, and he"s very good at telling me how wrong I am hahaha Obviously, both axis has their strenghts and weakness, but the Ti can acess the logic and the "truth" very quickly; but, Te people helps them organize their lives and all the "real world" things (and they're not so late to appointements because we're making sure that the time is passing and we need to HURRY UP!). Anyway, thanks for the video (and for include fantasy examples on them :P).

"I have an INTP friend" Ok, my type... "I sent a video about EFT" Oh god I've heard of this before **Eyeroll** Friend didn't like it. Ok, great, the two of us passed the INTP test, haha.
Hi, kinda new to MBTI, but I think I'm an INTJ-Jumper because, well, I am aware that feelings are very important to human beings... oh and that you shouldn't give yourself extremely strict guidelines on how to live life (like how a XXXJ might). Throughout my life, however, I have always been more comfortable when I analyse and make rules for myself. I don't know. Sometimes it feels like I'm not living my life properly. Maybe my functions are a little... dysfunctional.
(INTJ) What if I do both - or at least something like it? Does my Ni combined with Te synthesise something like Ti? Can Ni often be mistaken for Ti? I find patterns behind things and underlying meanings, and from that I tend to strip away unnecessary information until I can make a working theoretical model of something. I throw questions and scenarios at this model and see if holds up. If it doesn't, the model needs to be refined with better ideas or more components.
I have the same doubts, i thought I was an INTJ because sometimes when I need i make decisions based on efficiency and the resources that i have (pragmatism), but normally i prefer analyse from a distant viewpoint to comprehend the situation, system or problem, make a theory then I share. I also have a voice inside my head saying something, i think that is Ni, and my conscious monologue is Ti with a bit of Ne sometimes, when interacting i use Né to share ideas or Te to give commands or respond in a practical way. I was typed INTP.
@@caua7007 Although I quite like MBTI, I've always found it suspiciously "neat". Especially with structures like introverted function, extroverted function, introverted function, extroverted function (etc etc) going all the way down the stack. I honestly believe there are people whose top two functions are Ni and Ti -- something that's not possible in the MBTI system.
@@johnknight9150 Well, that happens in socionics, the 6th function in quite strong (can be compared as the dominant function) and is called demonstrative or critic. And o think that MBTI is too rigid to be reality, probably there are more cognitive functions combinations even with the same atitude like Ni-Ti or Ti-Ni without a loop or even a Ni-Ne axis for example.
@@caua7007 Socionics has a model that allows for stacking of functions outside of the E over I over E over I pattern in MBTI? I think the MBTI is a good law of averages, but I think there's space between spaces, with different function stacks that don't otherwise fit in MBTI. I do like MBTI, personally, but most of them don't seem to know their Jung. Almost all of these MBTI youtubers (if not all!) keep saying "subconscious", which no self-respecting Jungian or Freudian would ever say. And if any of these people had actually read Jung or Freud, they'd know why!
@@johnknight9150 well, model A in socionics divides in Information Elements, there are 8 and are like cognitive functions but instead of 4, everyone has the 8 but in different order and some are strong, weak, valued and unvalued, in that way there are 4 blocks (each of them having a introvert and extrovert function, a perceving and judging one). I'm studying more but I saw the model B, that includes positive and negative functions.
@@GeekPsychology Oh. Silly me. I was half listening to your video. Yeah I kinda popup recommended interesting videos when I'm doing repetitive tasks. lol
For awhile I thought I was an introvert but then I took the actual MBTI and got ENTJ with very clear preferences for Extroversion, Thinking, and Judging and a clear preference for iNtuition. I agree with the assessment results after studying the cognitive functions.
I was thinking...Bruce Banner as INTP has PolR Se. This means his outward sensing (in socionics "force") is underdeveloped, which means it's very black or white. Basically Hulk and Bruce are black and white characters in thes sense that there is no nuance in either of their force mangement. Either he's either a a soft bruce banner weakling who can't fight or he's a raging monster that is basically only wants to destroy. Not sure why i typed this.
The worst thing about being an ENTJ is you can objectively understand where and why other people's lives aren't working for them, but if you attempt to explain they'll feel rejected and won't understand, they'll take it personally. ENTJ appear to be the only personality that understands that thoughts aren't personal. Literally every single thought you have was transplanted, you only think it's "yours" because you won't allow yourself to believe your same thoughts have been experienced billions of times in people outside yourself. "Thinking outside the box" and "thinking outside yourself" is the same damn thing, and there are 8+ billion boxes alive right now, and we see how they think.
What I'd do to find a friend who's a Te Dom or aux as an INTP. What do you think are the differences between Te and Ti. Lately I've been feeling like induction is superior to deduction
@seetsamolapo5600 Te is broad, external, and multi-referenced. It seeks to perceive patterns according to highest probability, in a way its a living, active, and accurate Occams Razor. Ti is deep and often singular, trying to understand every component or the core component that allows things to operate, and it doesn't rely on external consensus. Honestly, there isn't a huge difference as both use strong logic and evidence based principles, and both are extremely effective. Te shows a superior ability to discover and understand basic trends, and it takes action based on that which is most possible. It can think outside of the box, but doesn't typically attempt to unless forced for innovative purposes. Because Ti is somewhat rebellious, it's a little more creative with problem solving, as solutions are unique to each user, and each user has a unique, personal data set that can have the potential to discover new ways of doing things. Te isn't internal in this way, as it looks to see what *everyone* thinks and make judgements based on consensus.
Funny part is an Extrovert will NOT watch videos like this ..why ? They are to busy trying to finish their goal list 😂... like I knowist and wonder why extrovert people always have to be doing something accomplishing and most of the time all they are doing is WORKING about it ...do do do all the time.. sometimes is impressive when they say I did ALL THIS in one day but when I sit and watch them go at it is rather Tiresome to watch 😂... but to them is rather satisfying... so that’s why I’m here trying to figure out what is in the mind of an extrovert
Are you ok? Like I said before, idk why you’re torturing yourself by continuing to view and troll / comment on my content. If you think matching extraversion or introversion with thinking and feeling is absurd, I think you’re gonna have a bad time with all of this MBTI stuff that was adapted from Carl Jung’s psychological types / cognitive functions. I did not invent these models. You might want to start here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungian_cognitive_functions and explore from there. If you want to continue down this path, that’s fine too. I just think it’s a waste of time for you if you’ve already made up your mind.

I feel like this is actually very helpful, I'm an INFP and I've always love analysis, but I've always been terrible at it. I can't do it myself and always need someone to analyze for me and show me the results because I find it so fascinating and need to know. I was wondering why I just couldn't do it myself and how frustrating it is, like where can I learn to do this? Now it makes more sense why it's so foreign to me because it's the last in my shadow function stack 🥲

I use Te/Fi axis and my husband Ti/Fe, and it's amazing how they complement each other.
I only understand if I'm thinking right if I share my thoughts, and he"s very good at telling me how wrong I am hahaha
Obviously, both axis has their strenghts and weakness, but the Ti can acess the logic and the "truth" very quickly; but, Te people helps them organize their lives and all the "real world" things (and they're not so late to appointements because we're making sure that the time is passing and we need to HURRY UP!).
Anyway, thanks for the video (and for include fantasy examples on them :P).
Hmm 🤔 My thinking is all over the place and at the same time very slow. It has to develop over time. Is it like deduction vs induction?
Sounds like Ti, and from how you describeit, it maybe tertiary or inferior position. What is your MBTI type?
@@Naafidy I think that I am an INFP 😃
Can you make an video on how to be less messy in your head (how to contol your thoughts). Im struggeling a lot with this all my life
Same
You have a very calming presence. Another reason why my test is freaking wrong! I am not a mush like you, no offense your great people should strive to be like you lol.
Looks human to me, where is the mush here?
"I have an INTP friend" Ok, my type...
"I sent a video about EFT" Oh god I've heard of this before **Eyeroll**
Friend didn't like it.
Ok, great, the two of us passed the INTP test, haha.
IM SO CONFUSED
Hi, kinda new to MBTI, but I think I'm an INTJ-Jumper because, well, I am aware that feelings are very important to human beings... oh and that you shouldn't give yourself extremely strict guidelines on how to live life (like how a XXXJ might). Throughout my life, however, I have always been more comfortable when I analyse and make rules for myself. I don't know. Sometimes it feels like I'm not living my life properly. Maybe my functions are a little... dysfunctional.
Thx man! Very helpful. Interesting breakdown differentiating between the two thought processes. 👍
I kinda see it the other way. Me being INTP with Ti Ne is better at analyzing data than my INTJ friend who's better at strategizing than me.
Ti = Analyzing
Te = Strategizing
That’s exactly it ^^
@@GeekPsychology Oh. Silly me. I was half listening to your video. Yeah I kinda popup recommended interesting videos when I'm doing repetitive tasks. lol
Dude brilliant! Zipping the files. I never realized that!
I… gotta watch the video again lol
For awhile I thought I was an introvert but then I took the actual MBTI and got ENTJ with very clear preferences for Extroversion, Thinking, and Judging and a clear preference for iNtuition. I agree with the assessment results after studying the cognitive functions.
which one talks to himself?
Set a system rather than a Goal
It took me so long to appreciate that advice.
EFT Emotional Freedom Technique works!
Lol! The tapping exercise would, logically, be a GREAT way for your friend to exercise his brain as it challenges his natural brainwave patterns.
:D doubt he’ll ever do it though! Either one of my ESTJ or INTP friends
i just confused my self am i intj or intp?
Usually, for someone have the characteristics both intj and intp. Means you are an INFP.
Don't worry either way you are smart
Could be INFJ enneagram 5 like me.
Not sure why i typed this.
after finally researching so much and landing as an istp WHY MUST I QUESTION MYSELF AGAIN :(
1:18 'not me!' KILLLLLLEDDDDDDD😂
Thinking out loud makes me wanna die a little.
Nonsense.
Applying the concepts of extraversion and introversion to experiences like thought and feeling is absurd.
:D
@@GeekPsychology If you think it's :D then don't teach it.
You might want to start here:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungian_cognitive_functions and explore from there.
If you want to continue down this path, that’s fine too. I just think it’s a waste of time for you if you’ve already made up your mind.
@@GeekPsychology No need to patronize me. I guess I should track creators rather than content. But disagreement isn' t trolling. Too convenient. The amount of time I've viewed your channel hardly qualifies as continuing to view it. I comment on any channel that spreads BS. There would be less of it if more people did so.
Tell me you are confused by mbti without telling me you are confused by mbti
Thank you for the information. Looks like I'm an INFP who likes to use Ti too. Sometimes got INTP on personality tests.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Dude what you're doing is amazing,
Your information is pretty valid, but the problem is that your video methods are kinda boring,
No offense, but
"It's not what you say, it's how you say it"
Other than that keep up the good work I'm routing for you👍🏻
But really, Be more creative
Thanks. I’m not sure how else to deliver it. Any ideas?
You every 3 seconds: ehehehe
Typical INFP

I feel like this is actually very helpful, I'm an INFP and I've always love analysis, but I've always been terrible at it. I can't do it myself and always need someone to analyze for me and show me the results because I find it so fascinating and need to know. I was wondering why I just couldn't do it myself and how frustrating it is, like where can I learn to do this? Now it makes more sense why it's so foreign to me because it's the last in my shadow function stack 🥲
