Hope this helps people considering changing to Remus exhausts on their K1600, the stock on the GTL will sound different but I don't expect the Remus will sound worse. Excuse the naff commentary, was making it up as I went a long and I am hearing them for the first time as you hear them on the video! Note re the baffle removal - I nearly got stuck with one of the baffles, as I show they are held in by hex screws, the screws themselves have a little tack weld to hold them in place and are helpfully only possible to engage at an offset, best break the weld with a small chisel before trying to undo; I didn't and one nearly rounded off which would have been interesting to say the least. I put the screws back in the wholes with the baffles removed (not shown) to keep them safe and tidied the baffles away where I will of course never be able to find them again!
I have just removed my remus titanium exhaust from my gt sport today, I think the stock sounds better ,the remus is much smarter and lighter ,but I found it very quiet around in traffic and that is with the baffles out ,a different story when wound over 5/6000 revs though !! the remus changes note ..
Interesting, I'd like to hear it at high rev under POWER. ALSO Interesting that the remus, to me sounded more muffled than the stock. so, I kept replaying both while watching the readout on a audio spectrum analyzer. and yes the Remus noticeably attenuates the higher frequencies above 500 cycles/sec. so it does make it SOUND deeper, only due to the muffled higher frequencies. But in fact it does not go lower in frequency than the stock mufflers. (I'm an audiophile, as a hobby. and pretty techie most of my life. So this kind of detail interests me.) I have a 2013 stock K1600GTL and it's got enough power for me, so mainly interested in the different sound I would get. I'm also an automotive tech. and from decades of modifying my cars, customers vehicles, and my motorcycles, I think that the Remus Mufflers would also lose some of the attenuation as they age, since it sounds like fiberglass doing that muffling, and fiberglass doesn't last forever in a muffler. Since there is very little power gain unless you do the full system which is really expensive, I just drilled holes in the upper and lower exhaust holes. Zero expense, and a nicely louder and lower tone. I really need to do a video of that. All the rest of my K1600 videos are on my site, like the ball joint replacement I just did. Managed to screw it up too! Follow along for laughs and tips... ruclips.net/video/jvjCrfWsVCE/видео.html
Thanks for the video, have these arriving soon in carbon and the remus headers. I can understand why some like the stock sound. For me this is true BMW sports car sound with the remus. Much bassier. I am pretty sure the carbon vs titanium will be deeper sound also. I want the headers more than the exhaust because the bmw cats hold a lot of heat near ones legs. I ride in a very hot country. There was no way I would put the stock exhausts on the headers or the akros. Personal preference.
Hi mate, I was wondering if you could provide some info as how these are holding up quality wise long term? I'm am considering purchasing the same carbon fibre ones for my 2013 K1600GT soon. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers
Michael Edwards Hi, I sold the bike a while back, they were still looking great when I sold them (actually took them off and sold them separately so made a chunk of money back). Highly recommended. Per the original video do use good headphones to listen to the sound as the difference doesn't sound much on a phone speaker. Hope that helps. Greg

The stock sound like a Gold Wing. Remus by far are better, especially at higher revs.
Did the same to my GTL sounds heaps with the Remus baffles out
Great!
