I've been happy with the quality. I might try a few other products such as the canvas bags. It's pretty decent gear 👍

Need a review of the tub bracing. I have a PX1 Wildtrak and considering the next steps to make travelling easier and preserve the ute tub for collecting firewood etc.

Hey Chris, I didn't film the actual J Brave install. I do wish I did as it was a bit of a pain. The shutter brace is really easy to install however and is most likely what you need for a PX.

Where did you get the load braces for the roller cover to increase load capacity?

Great review on the roof top tent. Its looks good on the back of the tub. Nice tub rack. Where did you get it from. I hope you do a video on the install. Cant wait to see your adventures. Thanks

It took a while with the rush at the end of the year, however the tub rack and install video is now live. It's just a Kings rack however we added the custom plate to the rear to replace the Kings one. I can't wait to do a few smaller trips earlier next year 😉

Great Vid. Do you have a video on setting up the actual tub rack and the bracing required inside the tub under the roller shutter?

It should have just gone live. This runs through the modifications to the tub rack as well as the bracing and supports. It's a very easy fit up 👍

Interesting to see if I can adapt this to my Musso.

Is this the sort of roof top tent you can leave the linen in and still close it down for travel???

Did you walk up and down that ladder in bare feet"? Seems the "Engineers" forgot about the 4-1 rule and the corresponding tread angle. That oversight is just woeful.

I would love to. Our Cairns trip this year was a bit of a test. My sister lives out at Alice Springs and works at a lot of the stations, so it's a must do trip in the next few years. I really want to explore the South Coast as well, so we will see what time we can free up in 2024. Having a business makes a full lap pretty impossible unfortunately 😔🤣

Great Video. Have you made a vid of the braces in the tub?

    • @WorkLivePlay
      @WorkLivePlay  9 месяцев назад

I didn't do a full video as the shutter braces I source from Triple M were very easy to fit. These are covered in the video I just finished on the tub rack install. The J Braces, I did wish I filmed as it was a tad tricky but again, fairly straightforward. The rivets Ford use on the inner guard liners are annoying as is the lock tight they use on the load restraint bolts you need to remove. I really feel the braces should be a standard part of the tub.

Looks awesome. Looking at a similar setup for my new VW Amarok. Hoping to mount the tent as low as possible but was worried about the awning poles clashing with the dual cab roof which it looks to have done with yours...did you sort that out?

Question for you, in relation to the water dripping down onto the roller cover - anyway to waterproof that area so it doesn't flood that particular spot? Was thinking of mounting a dual battery setup under that roller area and if it aint waterproof, that's going to limit that option.

Aah, the area I was talking about was above the roller shutter, I stored the chair on top to keep it under the tent. The tub itself has stayed really dry, even in a week of really heavy rain up in Queensland over Christmas. I'm actually quite surprised by the sealing on these new shutters compared with older models. A fair few have installed dual battery systems in the rear with no drama 👍

I just published the DIY video including modifications for the Kings tub rack, hopefully that helps you out. I was trying to get up earlier however this time of the year is very busy. Now we are in Brisbane for the break, I spent a few days editing it up 👍

It’s a very expensive roof top tent and can see why a lot opt for the kings.
