Have been following your work - off and on, for many years now and just want to thank you for the blessings you have imparted to me - in blessing others.
I have one I ordered it and a tounge drum I have to say both are fun but I find myself using my tongue drum a lot more this video is well made and amazing sound quality 🤘🎶🤘🎶🤘🎶
Man , It was so good :D I wish you will continue making videos like this one because it can help other people how to play CAJON like me but I'm still a newbie And you look like a Filipino xD
Hi 😊 I am a new subscriber and my husband really loves you playing the cajon. And we would really appreciate if you could tell us the brand of the cajon you're using, or if you could give us an idea which one has a good quality and worth to buy. Thank you so much and more power😊😊😊
Awesome! I love your videos. I have a quick question. Is there any other entity producing a sound? Or just the cajon and tambourine? The base sounds so clear on this particular cajon that it sounds like a electric drum laid over top. Thanks so much! I will keep watching! :)
+Amber Johnson Thanks Amber. There's no other element except the Cajon and tambourine. The richness in representation could be due to the unrealistic amount of microphones applied..BTW I saw your comment on FB. Let me respond to that :)
Thumbs up from here... Congratulations for the video... Leaving aside the musical execution, (which is great, by the way); I´m amazed of the quality of the sound of the different parts of the cajon and the tambourine you managed to get. I assume you might not have all the exact technichal details of the recording but, do you have a general idea of how did the guys in the studio recorded this? I mean, amount and types of mics, placement, general cryteria for post-editing, etc. I´m asking this because I´m recording these days with my band and I included some cajon parts here and there on what where are doing; so this could be helpful... Thanks in advance... Keep it up!
Hi Gabriel. We had direct (back, in), ST near-field, and ST far-field (for the sense of space) mics for this recording. The space is rather controlled (odd-shaped room with curtains). Post production wise, I removed all "fat" from all mics and only used the ST far-field for ambience. Of course, I also applied more processing - specifically 'Vintage Warmer' and 'Izotope'. Hope this helps.
Very very fascinating rhythm patterns beautifully done. Very textured playing. A little snare on the Cajon would have been nice, to my ear the cajon sounds too dry. :-) Superb though brother...
I am looking for a nice cajon with good snares and good bass for my son. Would you consider the De Gregorio Maestral Cajon to be a great one? I would like to purchase only one unless he becomes really serious. Thanks.
Brilliant ! Love the way you use the tambourine as an instrument and prop for the cajon

Thank you, John. It gives me great pleasure to know that what I have been doing helps.
My first official DG Maestral cajon (also affectionately known as "Kueh Lapis") video as their artist. Enjoy!
You're a Singaporean?
You are Indonesian?

Great, thanks for answering.

Aadinaadam Avimukta Glad you liked it. I agree with you on the snare part, just that I think this model is a Flamenco cajon.
Hello, i enjoy your video very much & just purchased a Cajon. how do i eliminate the snare sound on the bass part of the Cajon?
On point.
I am looking for a nice cajon with good snares and good bass for my son. Would you consider the De Gregorio Maestral Cajon to be a great one? I would like to purchase only one unless he becomes really serious. Thanks.
Dennis Reed Yes the DG is value for money compared to the well marketed brands.
Turbochicken Studios Thank you. I bought a Yaqui. I like it a lot so far. I am not sure how much I like the bells. I may remove them.
Ottimo!!
Sounds great! Where you a drum line guy?
great great great .....coooool
Sensacional!

🙌
Nice, how long you've been practicing?
Cool!!! What's the Tamtuck technique?
It's a technique where you tuck the tambourine under the cajon, tilting it as well as attaining a good playing posture.
Turbochicken Studios
The tambourine adds a very nice touch!
يا سلام
Is the tambourine the only thing tilting the cajon up?
Samuel Beard Yup!

Aber, wie gesagt, für den Anfang nicht verkehrt.
What is that adapter thing ? That makes cajon a bit angled. Can someone provide me the link?
I'm from Brasil. Could you help me where can I get a DG Maestral canjon?
+julietsousa You can find the information here: www.cajondg.com/home.htm
Thanks!
Hey dude. Pls teach me too.just before a month I buyer a ClapBox brand
is the cajon placed under the tambourine?
Yes, tucked under the felt of the cajon.
Niccceeee
are the two mics seen on camera the only mics recording?
Justin Upchurch there's a far field and a pair of PZMs
