    In days gone by before the half overlap hinges were around, we doubled up the interior uprights which we called standards. These hinges cut the cost of that. Good refresher video Ryan. Thanks

    watched most of your videos now - saw a question in a forum on runners and remember this great video on different hinges - do you have a preference for draw runners - this sundays 17/3/24 video - you showed some great looking runners - Just wondered if covered in past and which ones you recommend and why

      Thank you!!
      Well I always use side mounted runners like these shown in the video. There are push release, slow close and standard. I 99% of thr time use standard.
      I don't think I have a video talking about different types, but I do have an old video on how to install this type, posted a few years back at least I'd imagine.
      I like these as they do the job nicely, are very simple to install and are relatively low cost in relation to other types of runners such as undermounted.
      Cheers ryan 👍

    Hi LC, great explanation, thank you.
    Do you know if any of these hinges allow you to use a thicker door, say 22mm as oppose to 18mm? Or are they all 18 max as standard? Thanks in advance

      Unfortunately not.

    Hello Ryan which hinge jig would you recommend. I can’t get the Veiko in time. I’m looking at the Trend or the Kreg as they are in my price range. Do you have any thoughts on which one to choose as I want accurate screw placement as well for the cups etc 👍

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi apologies for the late reply.
      Yes if your looking for something quickly then the trend is very good.
      Get something all metal if you can as it will be much more durable.
      Kreg always seems to be on the cheaper/plastic side 👍
      Cheers ryan

      If the doors is made to fit within an inset frame, then it wont work. If that is what you are asking?

      Thank you!
      I have a sketch up video coming out this Sunday (3rd March 2024) and I talk about door sizes and how to work them out close to the end of it. Worth a watch 👍

    Hi Ryan - do you cut your cabinet/wardrobe doors to the exact same size as the frame or do you leave the doors a few mm under size? thanks!

    • @samrix5793
      @samrix5793 4 месяца назад

      Usually you have a 3mm gap between doors

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi Craig, it depends if I have a side panel or standard flush trims with the carcass.
      So imagine you had a 4 door wardrobe with flush trims to the carcass. Then I'd just allow for 3 x 3mm gaps in between the doors (9mm) then divide the total carcasses width (imagine 2000mm), so that leaves 1991, then I'd divide the remaining by 4 (total amount of doors). That's the door width.
      If you have panels/cheeks either side then take off another 6mm in gaps and divide up as above again.
      I generally make the door heights the same as the carcass most times 👍

      Blame are very good hinges, but also very expensive.
      These are also very good hinges, have used them for 10 years min along with their runners and have been super happy with them.
