With the dog bed on the floor, I can smell this room. It smells like a combination of old dog, axe body spray and cucumber-melon lotion (those knees look well lubed and soft, my friend). 3 outta 5 beards!
The part when you set the pedals with the old cables felt like those infomertials where people do mundane stuff chaotically, like throwing food containers in the air.
EBS cables have been making these for years, then Rockboard by Warwick copied them, and now these. My only concern with these is the molded plastic ends meaning they aren't easily repairable like the neutrik tipped or even standard pancake jack ends
Yeah, these are a rip off of EBS cables. I use EBS on my board. Putting the jacks in the opposite direction is a good idea because I don't like twisting the flat cables. I have used EBS since they came out and I have never had one fail on me. The design and quality control is excellent. I hear you about them not being repairable, but if their failure rate is incredibly small I don't think I will mind having to replace one every two or three years.
I asked them why people should choose TourGear Designs over EBS or Rockboard and here's the answer : " The mantle on the EBS is very thin. Ours is much thick to give better protection. Ours are 2 mm shorter from plug tip to end of the jack head mold. Compared to them so even more room saved from ours. Our ripple circle edge just a better grip. They offer those but those are for a higher price, ours comes standard. Ours has a foam layer after the solder to help block any further frequencies. If you look at the Rockboard cable they are just soldered, molded, and shipped but they are not as clear because the mold they use is very cheap and isn't that well insulated as ours. "
I know the feeling. I play with TWO bands, and I have not even spoken to anyone in either band since the lockdown started, way back in MARCH. And I have maybe only touched my guitars a couple times since then. Figuring out how to pay rent and buy groceries when you lost your job is more important than music.
I just bought a bunch. I didn't know you made a video. I have Tour Gear design cable, a Templeboard, a few Canadian boutique pedals, and a Revv on the Way. Now all I need is a moose.
@@jasondumond3773 Only thing I don't like about the Rockboard ones is the heads are a bit too long to fit end-to-end on tight stereo jacks (TCE pedals). You can shave 1mm off the end of the heads and they fit great.
S cables, and longer cables, these are exactly what I need. On a side note, I use a Pedaltrain, and the fact that it is a series of rails really helps with cable management. I can run cables UNDER the rails, or have the excess hanging down UNDER the rails. No clutter. Really, the only limit with a multi-rail board is getting cables long enough to connect each rail to the rail above and below it, which is my problem exactly.
Cool how you randomly came up with a pedal chain that is PERFECTLY alternating between top mount and side mount jacks. Oh wait that's where that s-style cable really works well. What are the odds?! ;-)
Mogami has had me for years. I've had to configure my Pedal Train Terra to accomodate for their bulk, but I'm interested in the sound quality of these. Every cable for everything has been Mogami, so I am a bit apprehensive.
Hi man. So, did you buy some of these patch cables from Tour Gear and compare to Mogami cables ? For me, sound quality and to avoid noise problems is the most important thing so I try to know if it's a good choice or not. Anyway, they look great and very practical.
I know I bang on about expensive gear, but this is a nice little thing to have at your disposal, even if you have cheap pedals and a piece of wood for a pedal board. Good work sir!
Not that I disagree on better cable designs, but why didn't you thread cables through the bottom holes anyways? seems like that would help a ton of issues. Also been using 3Monkeys cables and they're a lifesaver for me
Man I bought my rock board cables 4 days before this video .Had trouble even finding the right sizes . Had to get a couple of the bendy ones ,they dont bend like you think they would .I would have got some of those s cables in a heart beat.
Have you ever tried M Maka cables? I’ve been using them for a few months and I haven’t had any issues, but I also haven’t been gigging as much given the state of things. They Save a lot of space for me!
Not trying to sound like "That Guy" but I burned the money for a great multi effect and I just work with that but I really dig this idea man thanks for the demo probably gonna blow the dust off my old pedals and rerig my old board 🤘
Dude has a neat-freak complex. He makes point lately of not appearing overly neat after being called out about it. But rest assured, he knows, and is lovin, how neat those cables are
First of all... he said something in the beginning about having cables with thin wire being a problem... this has thin wire. Secondly, wouldn’t the pedals be too close so that you’d maybe turn another pedal when you’re rocking out and don’t hit it perfectly centered? 2 out of 5 beards.
Bad telemarketing! when he tried to connect the pedals with "bad" "old" cables, remind me the black and white footage of people that can't shave, open a can, cut their food, watch tv (can not do anything) etcetera... But suddenly the "good" "new" cables came and saved us! They are not even the first cables of this kind!! Really bad advertising!!!

opening a cabinet and all the plastic bowls fall on your head
So much more room for activities!

Right on time for nobody to go on tour. But great concept nonetheless!
We have more time than ever to re-arrange our pedalboards... if I only had more than three pedals.

You should try RockBoard gold plated flat patch cables. They are amazing!
I'm using the plain black RockBoard cables... great stuff!
@@JeffHendricks same. great option.

I literally just bought a new pedal today for my already packed pedal board so thank you for this
Those are nice. My EB barely get a pass.. These guys make spiral 25ft with the pop thing...
Whoa! Nothing wrong with pancake jacks. It would be crappy cable some would use. Pretty standard in pro touring boards.
Finally more room for my MUFF
I'd want half that size pedal board of 6 pedals.
I don't know about that chair & learning forward towards the camera. It's almost as if you are talking to us while taking a dump :D
Well, you pulled that from my head somehow. We love you enough to say something Ryan :P
The cables fit, but do they work? I guess we’ll never know.
New channel name "Riffs Beards and Gear Sales"
Whole channel feels like a commercial lately.
Bro, that's been the name of the game for years. Ever pick up a copy of Guitar World?
This must be a new trend, and a smart one. These remind me of the Ernie Ball patch cables.
Sold! I’ll be getting some of these, well priced!
Have you ever tried M Maka cables? I’ve been using them for a few months and I haven’t had any issues, but I also haven’t been gigging as much given the state of things. They Save a lot of space for me!
Is there a cable that works well with two contiguous top mount jack pedals?
I hate those huge pancake style heads. Looking for a good solution. Thanks!

Not gonna lie, it seems a little odd when EBS Flats have already done this and b/c you use a Helix Rack with only a POG, if I'm not mistaken.
I'm surprised you didn't mention how much neater the cable management and overall board appearance is with these cables. Lol.
Dude has a neat-freak complex. He makes point lately of not appearing overly neat after being called out about it. But rest assured, he knows, and is lovin, how neat those cables are
Got some of the new flat cables by ernie ball and really like em.
Really wish companies would make a right angle to straight patch cable line for pedal loopers...
Dont see it on their site , do u kno what gauge wire they use ?
Bro those are awesome!
I like the flat MXR patches better.
You could have used some of those larger holes and run your cable under and then up to the proper pedal and they wouldn't look all kinked up.
Great video!
Ernie ball makes essentially the same thing :)
But you cant repair their cables once it fails, best connectors are SP400
Should have done a tone comparison.
Square plugs is where it’s at….
what if you really have big feet?
Sometimes I have the feeling that cable manufacturers are trying to reinvent the weel...

wow this feels totally legit 🙄
Been watching your vids for years - Always Awesome!!
SUBBED TODAY \,,/💀\,,/
Um.. aren’t you an Ernie Ball artist? Why aren’t you showing the version Ernie Ball copied from EBS?

Can’t lie that was the first thing I thought when I seen this video lol
Yup same here. Clearly a deal was made here. I hope Fluffs is getting decent coins for this.
sorry Fluff, I am quite a fan of yours, but this is soo boring and non-inventive...
