People are oblvious to what the f*ck is going on around them 90% of the time. I work Security in London and every day people are getting mugged for their phones cause they're walking around on white glued to social media. If I walk with my phone out I always assess my area beforehand and my phone is never out of my pocket longer than 30 seconds max! I look as far as I can see down the road and I always look at people's body language. But, I am a trained individual.
I loved when you said “he’s maybe in denial”. Its what happens to people who dont expect or want a fight, the guy wanted to believe this wasnt a real attack. Amazing psychological approach 👌👌👌
Another great one Mike. We have a similar problem here in Canada. Not only are men getting softer, but even if you are able to defend yourself or help someone else, there is fear of legal troubles in the form of an assault charge or civil suit from the perpetrator (s).
Nice breakdown. I think its very sad people nowadays dont step up and help. We need to change that weak mindset in society. I dont know the law in your country, but in germany its "emergency support" to help someone in selfdefence and you are allowed to use necessary force.
Great content! I think you are totally on point when it comes to denial. The victim has a very stiff posture, as if he is scared but trying to not show it. He probably saw the threat coming, but like you said, was in denial. I’ve been in denial myself, because you don’t want to believe that you are about to be attacked. It’s easier to mot believe that. There have also been times when I’m sure I’m about to be attacked and then wasn’t, could have been I ”looked too ready” or I just misread the situation. Always hard to tell afterwards.
Great vid 👍 That’s a really good point about the bystanders - the most they do nowadays is take out their phones to film, but mostly they just stare … this includes incidents where people are harassed in public …
Probably the same as Norwegian laws... You essentially have to wait for the attacker to hurt you before you are allowed to respond. Essentially a guy comes up and slaps away your guard that would still give you Jail-time if you respond with a jab.
Man, I though UK self defence laws were weak. To be fair though UK law (or at least in England and Wales, Scots law is different) you are allowed to hit first if you are in "reasonable fear of imminent attack". If you seriously hurt the guy you might have to explain yourself to a jury but the law as it is written would give you a defence as long as you could demonstrate that the guy was being aggressive and threatening.
Your channel is the only channel worth watching on self protection. I agree that not being the victim is so important and if on the off chance still chosen, then blasting away until they are rendered ‘unable’.
love your channel and your way of thinking/ avoiding fights/ destroying if there is no other way ! it's a shame i'm already an old man now - but your analysis are always correct and to the point. greetings from germany
Great vid, but as always the things that you mention have to be trained because otherwise this will be the end result and God forbid worse. Keep the material coming Brother stay safe.
Looks like the aggressor had low-fisted hands prior to the assault. The "bystander effect" in play with those who watched. Excellent evaluation and analysis once again. Will be sharing.
The initial cue was hard to spot - the change to the cross stand. In a way you should always take the possibility of an attack into account. At least with random stranger. Good content man!
I love these breakdowns. To me they are the final ingredient in training, kind of like a glue that puts all of what you teach together, where you see where and how to apply the techniques you teach. Thank you, keep up the great work.
I love these "breakdown" videos, and man... you CRACK ME UP! "You cannot do this if your hands are in your fucking pockets." Hahahaha! Great stuff as always. Thanks for doing these.
Yes, excellent breakdown, analysis and explanation of the scenario and options. I have wanted to comment for a while that your command of spoken English is insanely good. Echt goed gedaan
Thank you. Nice. I will only intervene if it is a person under my protection, child, woman or terror attack? Two guys? Who knows when and how this started? Don't Be A Victim and to quote a wise man *Attack the attack".
I have found raising both hands stretched out is enough I suspect the perpetrator assumes you know something and leaves it or simply attacks you right away, which hasn't happened to me luckily.
It's worked for me. Also, saying, "You're good right there!" That makes anyone without Ill intent stop. If they continue, then you know they're up to no good.
Hi Mike. Thank you so much again for all you share. I'm based in South Africa and am very soon about to join in on your online courses. But I just wanted to ask, I have applied much of what you have taught in my training but I want to now start teaching and helping others. Once I complete your course would I be certified to train others or what advice could you give me to get this ball rolling. I appreciate you and all you do with huge respect. Hope to hear from you and God bless.
You are welcome! I’m happy it gives you something! The online courses can help you with the knowledge part…knowledge is power. I’m also here to help in case you have questions etc. I suggest start teaching the people who need it the most! Take everything from the course and build them!
@@schoolofselfprotection thank you coach. I appreciate your words of advice and wisdom. I am very excited to start the course as I've been watching all your videos for a very very long time. If I ever come to the great Netherlands I hope to join in on a class. Would be an honor to meet you. Stay strong and please keep on teaching these great lessons in an evil world of today. Thank you again🙏
These breakdown videos are so useful, i just want to ask you what everyone wants to see, but you out of your humbleness wont show.. Some videos of you on duty, to see your words in action? That's all brother... 👍
I want to..but I’m really worried about some juridical crap coming from that workplace. Really need to dive into that. I show the footage after my seminars once in a while. So they see what they just trained all day..
I think I would freeze or hestitate to do something because the agressor might have a knife.. and then I think it's a done case eventhough I know (basic) Kung Fu.. just wondering what your thoughts are on that.. would you try to deescalte or simply try to take him out asap? I always find myself trying to deescalate but that also means a-holes like this have time to draw a weapon. Just wondering..
These videos are helping people to attain a better mental attitude 👍 This below is easy to say sitting in a comfortable chair at home but - The clothes, posture and general look of the bully is a red flag to begin with, shit I’d be on my guard at first sighting of him. And Jesus man don’t stand in the open on your own with hands in pocket looking like a wet lettuce - might as well hold a sign saying ‘easy victim’
Shalom Mike. Peace be to you. Great video explaining what should be common sense. The guy had his hand fisted...that usually is also a clear sign of aggression. We wish people would take less soy and more self-defense trainings from people like yourself, in a world overrun by beastly attitudes that have no regard for another life. But hey, that's just my two cents ofcourse. While also living in the Netherlands, if we are ever in the neighborhood of where you have your seminars, we would love to buy you a well deserved cup of coffee. Just don't beat us unconscious when we surprise you 😂 Again, thank you for these uploads, truly much appreciated. An easy thumbs up. May the love of God be with you and your household, Mike.
Why should one male help another able bodied capable male whom he has no relation with? Maybe the ‘victim’ slept with the ‘predator’s’ young sister or mum? How would we know? Better to fold our arms bring out the popcorn and watch in this instance. 😂

My point! The stuff you just mentioned will save you most of the time.
Most people will record the attack on a phone and not even think about helping

Excellent analysis Michiel! Your analysis of weak men in the Western world is spot on and sad.

People need to gather and go to the court house and DEMAND the laws be changed. Why are we only allowing savages, who are in the wrong to protest?
It’s horrible. Government want you to be silent and sheep.
I guess I'll go to jail.
I am also in Canada and can agree. I am 100% team fight back and worry about the "law" after. People have definitely grown soft and/or unaware.

yes theres sometimes not always an option to run ..........if not alone etc or tight spot ......a great discussion....
I run 4 to 7 miles, four times a week. I would never run from an attacker, why would I turn my back?
Excellent breakdown and content, as always. Thank you.
Such a shame that the inadequate bully there didn't end up on the track, biting the rail.
I agree!
Can't say it enough : Be aware of your surroundings. I'm dutch , and the dutch laws are infuriatingly ridiculous.
Uk same but better to knock him the fuck out and worry about laws later. Could be stabbed and dead if worry too much about laws.
Absoluut!!

Die zijn er weinig. Omdat de meeste mensen te ongetraind zijn. Ga misschien wel follow up filmpjes doen..over wat te doen etc..
