Here's a tip: Cerebrum in Mt. Itoi cave only uses PSI powers and has a ton of PSI energy. If you PSI-block it with Ana, you can PSI-magnet her PSI all the way back to full and heal up every party member. It's basically a hotel in the form of a creature.
Bro, I've just kinda discovered this channel, cause I've been playing the mother series again, and Earthbound Beginnings for the first time to completion. Really enjoyed watching this small series, and the editing seems very good for such an unknown channel. You got a sub.
I gave up on mother 1 years ago because the gameplay made me rage too much. but for some reason I find it to be the most charming game of the franchise. Just reminds me of my childhood for some reason
I agree- this game’s vibes are unmatched, even in the rest of the series. I think the soundtrack does wonders for the game- the melody-heavy themes allow for a much more “carefree” experience, if that makes sense. It definitely feels like a much more innocent game than the rest of the series.

That means so much to me! I'm glad the joking to serious "transitions" worked- I felt it was a bit of a risk, but it seems to have payed off. Being compared to Chuggaconroy is very high praise! I'm glad I'm able to continue the legacy of MOTHER playthroughs. I do plan on doing the entire series!

I just beat this game. With using a map and grinding, I actually didn't find Mt. Itoi that hard. Ninten can just use 4th-D-Slip or Ana can use PK Y Beam or PK Freeze Y and kill enemies in one hit (provided you have it). Give Lloyd some Flame throwers and you should be able to make it back to the house and save. Then get Eve and grind until Ana has PK Lifeup Omega. The worst part of the game was Duncan's Factory by far. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place! Once you get PK Teleport the game becomes MUCH more bearable. Earthbound Beginnings is a game that has a Horrible first half, but once you get Lloyd and Ana both, the game gets slightly better. Still I think this game is extremely painful to playthrough. I forced myself to beat it and now that I have I'M NEVER REPLAYING IT AGAIN!
This is why it’s important to farm the flamethrower for Lloyd. And if you like to cheat. Never give pippi to the mayor and simply add the zoo key to your game and ditch Lloyd

Itoi is a petty and vengeful mofo. He suffered with Cave to Rhone in DQ2, so we had to suffer with Mt. Itoi.(By the way Mt. Itoi is a pun. Mt. Fuji is called Fuji San in japanese, and san means mr.)
As a Mt. Itoi survivor I could say that the healer, Eve, and Cerebrums were an attempt to balance the dungeon and allow you to grind to the point necessary to beat the game. Then Giygas himself ends up being weaker than one of those Mountain Bears. It is what it is. 😂
when i found the previous episode and saw that it was the last one uploaded, it made me pretty sad to think that it wasn't going to be continued and it's pretty cool to see it still going you have a nice channel here Nillerz, and an underappreciated one at that
Hello man, Merry Christmas. I watched a bit of your videos and they have been very helpful. Im playing the Mother 25th Anniversary Edition and Im currently trying to go to the desert, to get the 5th melody, the world of Mother 1 is so big that any help to show the way is appreciated.
I finished mother 1 and 2 (not the gameboy version) both in their entirety before the first earthbound episode came out, and after this video was uploaded 💀
It took me awhile to realize how strong Ana actually is Like if all 3 Mother Games main party members got into a fight Ana would beat most of them do to her PSI

To be frank, I don't remember Mt. Itoi being THAT hard. I mean, after all you already went through, it is more of a battle of attrition than anything.
For an area that wasnt playtested, im honestly surpised there arent any game breaking glitches like Final Fantasy II
