Thanks for the kind comment! If DICE ever manages to release a decent Battlefield game again, I think I'll miss cavalry the most - you can't do this kind of stuff in any other Battlefield - the sense of speed and the intensity of fights that you can do, which I don't think ever properly gets carried through a video, it's really something else. Lots of people talk trash about cavalry with rifles, liking them to campers sitting in the back, taking pot shots. But I truly enjoy charging at people and getting away with it.
Well done! Always love seeing Cav, it's the one thing kept me playing BF1 because of how fun it is. So thanks, always a good time watching good Cav players!
@@Lefiathand there are plenty of counters to it. Many LMG’s, ATR and SMG08 can easily send a cav packing. Furthermore a coordinated 2 man team can more or less easily kill him
Another thing I forgot to ask: Does the rifle get an accuracy boost if you come to a full stop? Or is it always a little innacurate? I have dozens of hours on the horse and I could never quite figure it out.
After playing for such a long time, I can't tell if there is a difference to accuracy while moving and staying still - maybe at longer ranges, but you don't want to play that way anyways, as damage drop-off kicks in. To me, staying mobile means staying alive - obviously, it's not easy to aim precisely while moving, but if you can handle it, it's the best way how to play. And you feel suppression at least a bit, but it's nowhere near as strong as while playing infantry.
They cancelled the planned Battlefield mobile (not sure what the exact name was, it was basically simplified BF4 on phones) not that long ago, and for a mobile game, it looked decent. Leave it to EA to disappoint in every way. I guess they couldn't figure out how to put enough micro transactions into the game. To me, it's personally not a loss, because I find touchscreen controls to be the worst way to control a shooter, but it could've been a great way to introduce Battlefield to a younger generation.
I'd like to know how your shots don't disperse and you can keep your aim steady. With almost 1000 horse kills, my shots disperse like a kolibri and my aim is shaky, it's not stationary like yours. Or do you use some kind of PS control aim-assist?
This is PC. I've only ever seen few console players being able to use the rifle effectively, as it's pretty damn hard to aim with a controller on the horse.
@@Lefiath Me with over 3000 horse kills currently, 75% are done by saber + trampling, there are situations where it is necessary to use the Winchester, with the horse stopped it is easy and it is delicious take HS's, but when moving, I can also give shots but it has to be in predict. However, when moving, my aim is not completely static like yours, it moves following the movement of the horse, this also happens to friends I play with, it is relatively static when the horse is galloping and not running. What I thought, is that you played with a PS-type controller that naturally had a stabilizer or something like that. I see now, you only have 18 kills with the cavalry saber, I thought you already had 10,000 kills or something close to it xD
@@RicardoBaptista33 Perhaps it just looks that way, people also told me in the past that my weapons have no recoil, but I just know how to play with it, so it might look like my aim is static, when I'm just trying to aim precisely at the targets. Mouse makes this easy with practice, and I've had a lot of practice with shooters. And yeah, I don't use either saber or lance :)
Wish i can play these other maps. I have all dlc on ps4 yet it only shows da same few maps and then they pick the same maps you always see on map vote. So annoying
When it comes to movement, I'm so used to it, I just do it without thinking, so I'm not even sure what to tell you :) It's either lifting the W key (or whatever makes you move forward on a controller) and moving to the side, or making a sharp camera turn to the side, as I usually don't just stop, but I'm already turning the horse when I brake like that. Try playing on an empty server, go at full speed and try braking and turning around.
@@Lefiath I pc Lance only and you would be correct. But nothing is like going on a rampage with the Lance and taking planes out of the sky with the grenades. Every time I do that, I spam the chat with "HONSE"
It's still very much playable on PC in EU, tons of servers. But I understand if you're in a location where you can no longer get the servers and don't want to play with high ping.
I wish cavalry had been nerfed a bit before DICE dropped the game. That said, I'd rather have cavalary be OP than a death trap like it was when the game first released.
To be fair, this isn't something you'll see too often, even on community servers. There are couple of horse-masters that are certainly better than me, but not too many, because it's not exactly easy to play like this. I believe this never got nerfed, because it just wasn't intended to play like this, and there just weren't enough players able to pull it off, it never became some kind of meta. You can still take the horse out rather easily with rocket gun, and nobody pays attention in every direction all the time, as I mention in the video, my most common cause of death is that I forget myself, get too focused on one thing and get shot from an angle I'm not looking at.
Apparently the sword was really nerfed, not sure if youtube will eat the link, but here: www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_live/comments/6yt041/rant_cavalry_horse_has_been_nerfed_too_much/ I wasn't playing cavalry before the health buff, as it wasn't really viable at all, so I wouldn't know.
@@Lefiath it was,it really was,i played it in the beta and the sword's side range was considerably better than today, curse DICE for listening to people.
Just everything is so insane - your nade accuracy, the gun control, keeping yourself in motion. I cant believe you charge with a gun rather than sword

Cavalry Experience in 2024... Just as OP as they were in 2016
It's only OP in right hands. You really have to put in some serious effort to make it work. If it was OP, you would see a lot more players abusing it.
