@@TheSuluGuy I dunno maybe because you will usually pivot out of giraffe to get either penguin or monkey so it might be better to apple/salad your best unit, but I myself believe in meat giraffe especially if I don't have a good second unit.

@@gibran7875 The last like 5 videos I've watched NL doesnt ever even think about buying a dragon even when there's an easy and obvious way to fit it. It's not that great of a unit since it only scales 3 friends but once you get it to level 2 you can start seriously power-scaling.
He was so close to putting the meat on the giraffe... so close... then he put it on his strongest unit the ant, which was soon to be pilled...

I legit got hyped when he hovered over the giraffe, a second later my pain was immesurable and my day was ruined.

I would assume a fish is mandatory when scaling. A lizard of some sort might work in a pinch though.

As a complete newbie. I'm struggling hard with understanding. I feel like this video actually taught me a lot, I just need to figure out how to actually do this myself lmao
The issue with F2P is that most strats show up way too late. Where's the support for buy/sell for example? P2W gets Buffalo which makes it a no brainer, but F2P mostly gets dog which sucks until you get Dragon late. F2P has a build with Elephant/Camel/Kanga, and it completely and totally falls off late game leaving you shafted, whereas most of the P2W paths hold up fairly well.
I think embarrassingly 90% of my wins are involving penguins and giraffes in some combination
It's the widescaling combo. The other builds are summon and hyperscaler (stuff like Buffalo).
The very rare builds are mechanics ones like Tiger, Whale, 1up Scorpion or direct attack squads. Need good luck to get them to 10. Food widescalers like Black Cat with level 3 Cow are hard to pull off as well.
It's not just you, in free to play now it is by far the most dominant strategy. It could do with a rebalance

@@IYPITWL food scaling with lvl 3 black cat is actually really freakin crazy (plus lvl 3 cow is almost guarantee win) but the fact that it comes in so late makes it really hard

It's funny I actually feel like pay to win is more about just scaling and free to play is more creative. But sometimes ftp takes too long to get going
Kind of true but in p2w there's some creative scaling while in f2p it's mostly just "buy this animal and scale"

It's weird because I find pay to win more difficult because you can't scale early as easily wherein free to play has scaling options almost every tier. I am a huge giraffe respecter and definitely am missing it when I play pay to win.
MAybe I just had bad early game tactics in pay to win but man, pay to win's late game is pretty powerful
Pay to win is indeed more diffcult imo, but definitely more fun. F2P need some balance changes rn (i mean both of them need it i guess)
@@dewalian6489 When you get to the late game in p2w, everything has to be perfect because you will almost always be on lethal or one away from lethal because of the many losses you lost against f2p scalers.
Even more nightmarish when you are trying to aim for achievements for p2w's tier 5 and tier 6 animals.
I guess my advice for p2w achievement hunters, select the "play against own pack" so you won't be lethal on turn 9

Everyone complaining about his terrible meat usage but what about the blasphemy of him skipping a dragon when he has a level 2 dog, a decent squito, and a level 2 turtle with 2 tier 1's in the shop omg. Could've sold both giraffes and had 13 gold, spends 7 gold on the dragon and +1/1 on his dudes and then had 6 more gold to fish for more t1's or he could buy a melon and sushi

So why is buffing the ant worse than the fish? I feel like keeping an ant gives some value over a fish that gives nothing.
It's not worse than the fish. NL just has it soldered in his brain to always pill the ant to unless it's a 10/10 on round 3 it's getting pilled.

On the first squad a poodle could be subbed to the fish and the build would scale even more. IK poodle is ptw, just an observation.
1:27 why on earth would he give meat to the ant instead of the giraffe??? You don’t need 10 damage on round 3, and giving it to the giraffe means that a unit that will stick around can actually get kills

Gave up trying to have fun in free to play and went full basic bitch scaling meta like NL. Double level 2 penguin, level 3 skunk, melon and steak all around. Absolute devastation. Beat the hell out of everyone. The last few rounds it was just countdown to 10 wins.

how come he plays "free to play" but faces "pay to win" teams? I played this for 20 hours and never faces dlc animals
In the settings you can set it to play against both packs or just the pack you're playing with.
