Sounds like a great "small child in a big scary world " game👍
To the credit of the graphic, it gives that vibe of dark-european-puppet-fantasy movies from the 80s.
Bit of a correction: Its inspired by NORDIC folklore. They do seem to be using alot of Swedish letters but they have taken a general mix of features from both Norway, Sweden and I think Denmark
Why don't people just say Scandinavian anymore?
But isn't Sweden like also a Nordic country with Nordic culture?

I love games that pull from folklore - I wish more games did, there's a lot to dig into! I also find it amusing that Japanese folklore is usually the bat-shit standard but some western cultures have some absolutely insane stuff knocking around, it's absolutely fascinating stuff to read. Thanks Will.
This was an interesting game as I did enjoy and agree the darker elements were more disturbing than scary it was fun in some areas though once I put it down I didn't pick it back up which is a problem.

since a cinema visit costs ~$15 worth 2 hours of entertainment it does seem kinda fair.

Something about (some of) the scenes evokes "Eternal Darkness" from the GameCube.
I actually like that the charactermodels aren't extremely scary. Most horrorgames are too much for me, but this seems like something I could handle:).

The soundtrack to this game is simply beautiful.
I don't mind a game that's not too long (as long as it's not too pricey), and I prefer not to be too scared. So this might suit me quite well - it looks different and interesting enough
Just keep in mind that while it’s not super *scary* per se (in terms of jump-scares or big scary monsters) it’s very disturbing in terms of the themes and some of the things it portrays - take heed of the warning at the beginning if you do decide to play it!

This is a terrific folklore story game
I have the agree with the character models of the main characters. They look like assets. The creatures were slightly better, but needed mors polish.
It's on gamepass and it looks intriguing👀
Where in the game synopsis does it say this is a horror game that is meant to terrify? It is described as "grim" and "twisted". I don't know how you made the leap to horror and expected such.

It is hard to compete with the likes of Little Nightmares in the 'tiny child scary world' arena.
The kids are intentionally designed to look like cherubs... they're not bad character models at all?
I normally skip games like this but I might actually check this one out

Generally good review, but honestly I can't understand how anyone can say that the monster design in this game wasn't scary. You can't tell me that Näcken, or the Swamp monster (with the unpronounceable name), or Petra, or even the regular ass trolls weren't completely terrifying
Tbh this looks like a perfect case of graphics actually mattering. Most of the time gameplay is king but this looks like it could be better overall experience with better models. I plan on playing anyway but I honestly was considering the download because of the jank models. One of those first impressions things

Not really big into the "small child in scary world" subset of indie games, so I'll probably pass on this.
If you haven't played it. Play it! It's incredible, but it's very, very disturbing. If you're sensitive to very depressing storyline it may not be for you. Highly suggest it other than that.

@@jorisbonson386 This kind of games like Inside, Little Nightmares, Limbo etc are particular! If you don't like the type then why you buy it!? For those who can appreciate it is one of the best. You can't judge a game because you don't understand it!
