The biggest issue I’ve found so far is changing out the clutch belt. There’s actually two heat shields you need to remove, at least on my Pro R 4, to be able to turn the bottom left tablock. What a pain in the a$$ Polaris has made this to change on the fly if you’re out on the trail! It was suggested to me to not refasten the bottom left tablock or the bottom T 27 torque screw way down at the bottom as everything will be fastened well enough without those in place. It’s bad enough that that bottom torque screw on the heat shield is a different size than the top two, as well as needing a special long tool to reach it without dropping all the pieces under the skid plates or burning yourself trying to remove it 🤦♂️ So glad I struggled to do all this at home and broke in a spare belt before being stuck with this problem on the trail. Not to mention, I cut up my forearms pretty bad on the plastic housing trying to turn that bottom tab lock with the second heat shield still in place. What a total nightmare job!
Mines a 2 seater. But you have to trim the bottom tab lock. I just cut off about a quarter inch and now it turns with a push of a long screw driver. Otherwise, I've not had to remove the shield.
My pro r completely fell apart with less than 200 miles on it. One minute we were driving at 30 mph on a flat dirt road, the next we were stopped with a sheared main frame and broken ball joints around $17k in repairs. Very disappointed in polaris.
Right.... These things are tough, I haven't had a single issue on my 2023. I did replace my front lower ball joints with heavy duty grease-able and adjustable ball joints, because they used smaller ones up to April 23 and I got mine in January 23. Otherwise no trouble, runs like a scalded dog,
I have no doubt the new pro R is a superior platform overall but for myself, I still just can’t justify that jump right now from my turbo S dynamix. That 47k+ otd price just makes it tough to want to start all over again with a new platform albeit the latest and greatest. Plus, knowing Polaris, things will be discovered and addressed and I bet we see some changes in the next year or so. Beautiful machine, congratulations!
Went looking at Polaris and Can-Ams. Wife walked up to the Polaris and barely touched the headlight and it came right off. All the panels had issues like yours as well. She looked at the price and looked at me and said nope lol. We have a Can-am now lol.
Mine came with the rear speakers. Not sure why yours didn’t. Agree on so much. Polaris Ultimate doesn’t mean the same thing as say a top quality car makers ultimate edition. All that said, I still love it and am having a lot of fun with it.
My turbo r had the some of the same issues. Steering wheel was off. My shifter needed adjusted. It wouldn’t go into high gear correctly. Actually all the gears at a visual point were off.
I would agree the dealership has some impact on quality control but some of those issues I list are at the assembly stage. Manufacturers need to stop being lazy and improve there processes. I’ve seem similar issues with other manufacturers also. So it’s not just one in particular that has these issues.
Lots of the new pro r’s come with alignment problems and it’s on the dealer to fix them before going out to the customer. Kind of annoying but gets better as they build more. Pro xp was the same way the first year but rarely come in with alignment problems now.
its just been a known fact for years if not decades that Polaris has had always quality issues. they're cheaply made machines with loads of reliability issues. plus your dealer should have done a PDI on it before letting it go.
That's a tough call. For us, i tell people go with what you like in design and seat placement. They all have their issues and you will need to learn what those are to fix them. We lean Polaris because that's just what I have. The Pro R is on a different level right now, so you cant go wrong with that one.
Buying a 1st gen machine is iffy, seen a lot of people having mechanical issues on new pro r’s, my buddy just gotta do not ride recall on his 21 turbo 1000 for the steering, with the cost of these machines you’d think the quality would be better, my 22 xrs max came with a rear view mirror but even that surprised me lol, plus for 33k I didn’t expect the brakes to squeak like a mofo, but people will keep buyin, they got us hooked and we’ll keep goin back to our dealers for our fix and fixes 😉
I agree. That’s was one of the main reasons of making the video. So if someone was on the fence on getting one, they will fully understand that it’s not perfect before they get all wrapped up in the idea of getting a new machine. We appreciate you watching the video.
My steering wheel was clocked 1pm position they took wheel off and fixed BUT now goes down road crooked toe link is off did measurement any way left it alone
I’ve tried to find online where it says the 2 seater comes with rear speakers but I haven’t be able to find it to address the issue with the dealer. Dealer says they only come on the 4 seater.
Not sure but I can run some test in ours to see. We are in WV filming and right now I found what works best is high gear with the power switch set on rock mode. What gear are you running in & what power setting are you running in?
Let me tell you if your Ultimate RZR did not come with the 2 rear speakers let me tell you some Rzr Sport owner is getting them for free. Mine comes with them and i have the Pro r 4 ultimate . You need to see what happend there for sure. Actually on the polaris youtube channel they describe what comes with the ultimate package
I’m not sure they would cover that or not. I didn’t check. From our experiences, the warranty process takes longer than I’m willing to wait for especially since we use these machines in our business. So most things we just take care of ourselves.
Your dealer isint top notch. 3 items on #1 all fall on the dealer. Other complaints are also not valid, because you knew all of that when you ordered/ bought it. Polaris has its issues for sure, but this vid was worthless!
Well I respectively disagree and I think you missed the point of the video. The dealership doesn’t have any impact on the fitment of plastics. Those are made and assembled at the factory. When they won’t clip in because they don’t line up… that’s a manufacturing issue not a dealership. Also when Polaris is bolting on the steering wheel at the factory, I feel they should have the ability to get it straight the first time with better standards. Can the dealership fix the steering wheel, yes but the point of the video was to express that the manufacturer needs to do better than just slapping pieces together at the price point they are selling these now. We feel consumers as a whole have lowered the bar so low for the manufacturers, they do not have any worry about fixing these issues. We are trying to shine light on issues that can & should be fixed at the manufacturer level. The intent of the video was to inform and shine light on fixable issues by the manufacturer, not to bash dealerships. Hope this helps clarify our intent. Be safe on the trails.
The fact that the dealer gave it to you with these issues makes me draw some additional questions. I agree with the complaints though.
We appreciate you watching the video.

They have the only machines that are capable of producing good horse power and ground clearance. No one else even comes close.
They have their pro’s about the machines. I just wish they would fix some of these QC issues. Overall we are still happy with our Polaris machines.

Good analysis.
Thanks
Where did you get your upper cabinets?
I own a turbo S and a Xp pro 4 ultimate. I have noticed their new machines are more expensive and give you less.
yea... it doesn't make any sense to us either.
So can am or rzr for reliability?

check out rough country they just released alot of stuff for the pro r today.
Will do. Thanks for the info.

I didn’t noticed it at first but our toe link was off also. We did adjust it and it’s stayed so far.
Why wouldn’t that come with a winch that’s insane all that money.
Your dealer ripped you off. They took the speakers from you.
I’ve tried to find online where it says the 2 seater comes with rear speakers but I haven’t be able to find it to address the issue with the dealer. Dealer says they only come on the 4 seater.
Yeah my speaker came with mines.
Mine came with them installed as well
Is it normal for this PRO R to run at 5,000 rpm’s at like 30 miles an hour? Mine seems like it revs a lot in slow or normal speeds.
