Great interview. Eric comes across as a genuinely nice guy with a true passion for watches. And I totally cracked a smile when I saw the Daytona close up in Crazy Rich Asians :)
How did a person like Erik get to the position to afford all these high end watches? I’d love to know. On talking watches he tells the story of how he got a vintage Rolex off eBay but he traded it in for an existing submariner and 1k. So he’s already had a sub lol
TenPastTen seems to be fake news these days though. When is the last time he posted a watch on there? It has a 1016 for sale at 8.8k, which is hilarious. Wish he would sell watches online again!
Quite possibly one of the worst watch websites. Pages and pages of watches marked "sold". Counted 6 watches you could actually buy...and they weren't exactly super desirable.
In British terms, Cartier is pants! Why? Because they obviously have lost their creative touch, why would they show up to SIHH with a re-edition of the Cartier Santos Dumont in silver sun ray or sun burst dial? That is because they do not want it to be similar to the newly released Santos, so they thought to compromise while still cashing in on higher sales volume. I thought that was very shady from them, with no regards to the customer. Now, I think Wei Koh is okay and so are you Eric Ku but this is obviously some Cartier propaganda. Cartier has been advertising agressively lately and it is mostly from using influencers such as Wei Koh, Josh from Watch Box studios this morning and Eric Ku of lately. Finally, what makes Cartier think that they can position themselves with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual? If Cartier wants to earn real watch collector's respect, they have to earn it. They need to stop pulling out garbage watches. The new Santos is another joke when compared to the older ones and this is coming from a very big Cartier fan.
Joey Fadel you’re full of it. The new Santos is great. The quickswitch bands are great and easy changing links are brilliant. I don’t know what you’re talking about.
@@randomlifeofbrian Not that Santos, The Santos Dumont which looks very similar to the Santos with the bracelet. The Santos Dumont comes with only a leather band. Cartier are a great brand but they have a few issues to me. They are capitalizing greatly on their history without delivering the quality to price-ratio that other brands are delivering. Here is a solid example- The cartier calibre diver is a favorite of mine but why would you price it about $500 less than a rolex which comes with a bracelet as standard, ceramic bezel and not a DLC bezel that is seen in the Cartier. The Rolex features an advanced movement with the like of a parachrom feature for shock, anti-magnetic capabilities etc. Do you get where I am coming from? Finally the Santos Dumont in my opinion should not have been released so soon as it is very similar to the Santos. My guess is that the Dumont came with a silver sunburst dial, to differentiate it from the Santos. Again, in my opinion, that really messed up the overall look of the Dumont. Cartier simply sacrificed the overall design just to push in sales numbers and bring in something new. The Dumont should have been delayed and Cartier should have worked harder to bring in a new idea, instead of recycling.

Not true Eric. Time is not the same for everyone. Rich people live longer.
Mike Wang Take a chill pill mate.
@@JC-hu3yj he isn't wrong tho
Vintage Rolex expert is a job or a hobby ?
Probably both but he owns a bakery too.
🥪 👦
he wears 2 watches..... errrrr
Anyone that, "double-fists" is a bit of a pratt in my book...
Rolex is over hyped and over priced. It is the worst expensive brand with many quality issues.
You must not own one
I think you mixed it up with LOLEX ;)
Interesting and expensive watches but none of them appeals to me aesthetically ;)
