It's worth noting that NFPA 70-680.22(B)(1) of the code should be reviewed specifically in regard to this installation. The light string/festoon lighting cannot be within 5 feet horizontally of the inside wall of the pool unless it is suspended at least 12 feet above the maximum water level of the pool.
I ran a outdoor extension cord from the pool pump outlet up the solar pool pipes to under the roof. All 3 of my roof lights are plugged into it. Each light set is custom with a schedule.
