I think combining one or two parts makes sense for keeping your upload schedule less cluttered and giving a nice long piece of content. Tina made the remark in the Grocery Store Sim, Vod that maybe the best route to take it would be to do singular session uploads for new games, two session group ups for older games (like the Sekiro playthrough) and then devote these super longform VODS for the games you have played before, but are now sharing with a new guest/collaborator. I think this is a pretty smart way to do it that also helps keep your channel uploading content in such a way that you can keep a healthy flow of viewership coming to it for the new games for the more content sensitive viewers but also still keep the more dedicated viewers fed with the long form content they crave (my category).
It is pretty fun. Chris also has a ridiculous outfit with a giant box on his back that blocks projectiles. Like Ray, I'm also down to play any Resident Evil game, and have been looking into collaborations too.
Some people like tax returns, some people like christmas, or birthdays. Ray likes playing RE 5 with friends and seeing if they make the same mistakes as others. What a treat.

My take on the VOD length is based on how fast you're going to finish playing whatever the game is. If it's all recorded in a few days, 1 huge vod; over a week or two, couple of big vods; over a month/sporadically, upload as individual. My feeling is I want as much content as possible in as reasonable a time as possible. I don't really want to wait over a week for something I'm excited to watch like a Pokémon upload or a play through of a new game I'm interested in but I also love a chunkier upload to watch over a day or two. I like the long-combined parts. I understand if not all playthroughs have it, however since I usually have one of your VOD playlists playing in the background, less interruptions are nice (more specifically less chance for RUclips to screw up during loading the next video). Love your content, Ray!

I think combining the parts works best if it’s a game that is completed in 2 streams or for cases like Sekiro where you streamed the game two days in a row and put both into one upload. The PokeRogue long vod also was great but that seems like a more case by case scenario when you can do that one. Great content as always!
Honestly as a yt frog I enjoy the long upload, but I was also getting confused because I kept seeing clips of you and fefe playing this with no vod upload and thought I was going crazy

All in all it's actully probably more money. Interestingly enough, there is a spiffing brit video about the subject matter that came out recently. Though the tldr of it is that since views go down, the more parts there are, it is more beneficial to have a longer video that will have more ads in it and also retain a higher view count.
My take on the Vod's length. I liked how you did Sekiro, where the intial vods were combined cause they were done close together. But if there is a longer break between streams (like sekiro), then putting them out as released is nice so we YT frogs are still getting the content fairly regularly.
i really like the long vods for games like this because as a trucker my schedule is long days and night so coming home to chill long video for my day off is really nice
I like having longer vods, it makes it even easier to throw it up on the second monitor/TV while I work on things or play games without worrying about autoplay messing up

The longer vod is very welcome. With the regular shorter uploads with either the piss boyz or a one on one colabs, as well as introducing rouletsplays, the longer vods are a great contrast. Been a long time youtube frog and loving the evolution of the channel.

I've been liking the longer party-esq games with friends and even the older games being combined into longer parts like this one because we've seen it before and its nice to put on as background noise to do stuff and not have to swap around, I also like them for shorter one-off games or a collection of parts like the pokerogue one as well. I like the shorter more focused vods for the new games to the channel/newly released games to pay more attention to. Whatever feels good in the long run is all that matters though!
I prefer the uploads for the stream asap after the stream, I don't mind them being in parts. Because sometimes you'll play a game and won't come back to it for months like Dokapon, and I'd rather not wait months to see the full playthrough

With these kinds of playthroughs it’s less about watching you play a game you’ve already played through on stream and more about how the person your playing with interacts with the you and the game. For new stuff I like the shorter episodic episodes as it allows me to follow along if I can’t catch the stream. So next day I can go through and enjoy it at my leisure. If it’s a game you’ve never played but it’s older I agree with the comments saying they can be combined as again it’s seeing you react to the game less about the game itself. Highlights for these can take longer to come out.

As long as you're still able to continue to upload almost daily (within reason obviously) I don't mind either way. I love having these long videos in the background while I work and/or do other stuff around the house.
only down sides I see with combined vods is if someone miss the stream cant watch the next day, there might be times where you have breaks in content coming out due to long play throughs going on around the same time and vice versa where multiple long vods come out in the same week
I think the all in one long vods make sense when you finish the game/do a couple of sessions within a certain time frame (1-2 weeks or so like this collab). If the sessions are more spaced out, for example the dokapon play through, I think parts made the most sense since there's too much of a gap in between them, and they were already like 5-6hrs long each part. I think it's a case by case for what would work best but regardless, been loving all the content no matter the length and thank you and the whole team for keeping us YT frogs fed as always!
I actually like this format. Condensing the multiple parts in to one video while using the chapters part of making a youtube video helps with marking where you left off and makes it easier to say "Hey watch this video" rather than "Hey watch Part x of this video".
I’ll be honest, I was gonna marathon the full “series”/VOD anyways and would watch it either way. As long as my froggy butt gets to see it without RUclips pulling any shenanigans, that’s all I care about. I’m totally ok with whatever works best for ya’ll.
I like shorter parts because they come out on the day itself. Its hard sometimes to find VoDs of others in the video so I can also see their PoV. And if they also sanitize their VoDs like Ray then its lost content. Maybe long parts if its within the month or week, like several b2b streams. Cuz it will take months if its something like the Dead Space 3 collab with chibi took about 3 months to clear. Also has problems if there's an extra part AFTER the "full playthrough"
Depends what I am in the mood for. Longer parts are always great for me if I want some background noise when I am doing something else. And shorter parts are nice, too, since I do devote my time actually watching and enjoying it. You do you. I do not mind either format as long as I have something to watch or listen to in the background.

I think I like the long episodes for a 2-3 parter. Not sure I would do any longer than that though. That being said, I could see someone liking you uploading one part at a time so if they were off work, for example, they could watch the vod then potentially catch the next stream of the same game and be caught up. Pros and Cons.
I'm more of a fan of the shorter parts. I don't think it was an issue in this VOD here but in playthroughs that span several weeks topics can be talked about that are just out of date by the time the VOD releases. It also feels a little more normal to see the breaks in between sessions (I know they were skipped here) but it feels a little weird to not have those breaks. Additionally, I am one to watch through a full series anyone but Devil's Advocate is that most people seeing a 8+ hour video on their feed could be daunting and easier for someone to switch off or just not watch it entirely. In the end, I'm all for whatever decision is less effort on your part/more comfortable for those involved in the process.
Yeah, while I really enjoyed what he did with the Sekiro VODs, the two parts he combined were a Saturday/Sunday streams, uploaded on Tuesday, so it was still topical. This one I think I’d have rather just got it in smaller parts.

I LOVE the combined, one big videos from you! Technical question, though - in terms of your own views and stats, wouldn't it be more beneficial for you to upload in multiple parts hence getting more individual views? I'm just here for the content and I'll be watching regardless ^_^
As long as you're still able to continue to upload almost daily (within reason obviously) I don't mind either way. I love having these long videos in the background while I work and/or do other stuff around the house.
Watching this is making me buy RE5 as my first RE game since my switch to PC
Love the long combined can just put it on and just either watch it all or have it as back ground noise
only down sides I see with combined vods is if someone miss the stream cant watch the next day, there might be times where you have breaks in content coming out due to long play throughs going on around the same time and vice versa where multiple long vods come out in the same week
I think the all in one long vods make sense when you finish the game/do a couple of sessions within a certain time frame (1-2 weeks or so like this collab). If the sessions are more spaced out, for example the dokapon play through, I think parts made the most sense since there's too much of a gap in between them, and they were already like 5-6hrs long each part. I think it's a case by case for what would work best but regardless, been loving all the content no matter the length and thank you and the whole team for keeping us YT frogs fed as always!
The long vods are good for game revisits but if it's a newer game, then i would love to have the episodic/part uploads

I actually like this format. Condensing the multiple parts in to one video while using the chapters part of making a youtube video helps with marking where you left off and makes it easier to say "Hey watch this video" rather than "Hey watch Part x of this video".
I’ll be honest, I was gonna marathon the full “series”/VOD anyways and would watch it either way. As long as my froggy butt gets to see it without RUclips pulling any shenanigans, that’s all I care about. I’m totally ok with whatever works best for ya’ll.
I like shorter parts because they come out on the day itself. Its hard sometimes to find VoDs of others in the video so I can also see their PoV.
And if they also sanitize their VoDs like Ray then its lost content.
Maybe long parts if its within the month or week, like several b2b streams. Cuz it will take months if its something like the Dead Space 3 collab with chibi took about 3 months to clear. Also has problems if there's an extra part AFTER the "full playthrough"
Depends what I am in the mood for. Longer parts are always great for me if I want some background noise when I am doing something else. And shorter parts are nice, too, since I do devote my time actually watching and enjoying it.
You do you. I do not mind either format as long as I have something to watch or listen to in the background.
This playthrough is crazy, there both just actually playing a game. I expected more madness. Instead I became invested.
Hi Ray and Tina! Just wanted to let you know Placid Plastic Duck Sim has its second anniversary and there's a new #2 birthday duck available atm. I know Ray enjoyed it so I wanted to let you guys know there was a new duck (and the other birthday ducks may spawn). I know he has a schedule of a bunch of games but just wanted to drop the knowledge in case you were interested in playing during the event because they didn't really announce anything on steam, they just dropped it in as a little Easter egg.
If it fits the schedule, since i cant catch every stream, individual vods are nice to feel up to date like Chat ❤

5:45:50 The Village puzzle I hate the most is the bloody jacuzzi/bath with the 4 stone statues, I somehow failed to brute force it, so I had to look up a guide because the info they give you to solve the puzzle is BS.
Think I prefer the shorter VODS I like how the time between the stream itself and the RUclips upload is very short feels like I’m not missing out on anything

I think I like the long episodes for a 2-3 parter. Not sure I would do any longer than that though. That being said, I could see someone liking you uploading one part at a time so if they were off work, for example, they could watch the vod then potentially catch the next stream of the same game and be caught up. Pros and Cons.
I like both. Seems theres certain circumstances where one or the other makes more sense, but i love both equally tbh! Glad youre keeping it fresh dad!
Hell yeah I'm all for the long sleep-form videos. I'd love some re-releases of things like Yakuza too in 12 hour chunks.
I'm more of a fan of the shorter parts. I don't think it was an issue in this VOD here but in playthroughs that span several weeks topics can be talked about that are just out of date by the time the VOD releases. It also feels a little more normal to see the breaks in between sessions (I know they were skipped here) but it feels a little weird to not have those breaks. Additionally, I am one to watch through a full series anyone but Devil's Advocate is that most people seeing a 8+ hour video on their feed could be daunting and easier for someone to switch off or just not watch it entirely.
In the end, I'm all for whatever decision is less effort on your part/more comfortable for those involved in the process.
Yeah, while I really enjoyed what he did with the Sekiro VODs, the two parts he combined were a Saturday/Sunday streams, uploaded on Tuesday, so it was still topical. This one I think I’d have rather just got it in smaller parts.

This remains my favourite Resident Evil game, definitely not the best, but my favourite
I'd like to think that Ray has now played RE5 with enough people to have a full team for an Operation Raccoon City playthrough.
