Whip up a lather with West Coast Shaving. We are all about bringing you goods that will help make your classic wet shave a joy rather than a daily chore.
If you love the joy of creating a rich, dense, voluminous lather, then check out our lather bowl. Loaded your shaving brush with shaving cream or shaving soap and then bring it to your unbreakable bowl to whip up your froth. The bowl is deep enough to hold in the lather with ridges on the bottom to help aerate your soap/cream to create the froth you need.
The handle doubles as a handy brush rest as well; so you can shave freely as your lather awaits another pass. The blue is a pop of color for your shaving den as well as a nice receptacle for holding your tools once they are dry.

I bowl lather exclusively. I never let a wet brush touch the soap in its original tub. I have a Pereira Shaving Bowl and absolutely love it. The WCS bowl is a direct copy of the Pereira. I used to have a Supply Marble Lathering Bowl and dropped it and it shattered so that's why I bought a unbreakable bowl.

I know he meant to highlight the bowl but that is a nice razor for what you’d spend on a pizza. Pretty cool

I bought one of the WCS bowls the day they went on sale, and have used it three times so far. It really works, whipping up a good, thick lather noticeably quicker than my Proraso shave cup, or Timeless bowl. Also, I think I can use a little less soap when I load my brush from now on. I used about the same amount of soap as I did with my old cup or bowl, and had plenty left over to discard after each 3-pass shave. I've used soaps from 3 different brands - Caty's Bubbles, Barrister & Mann and Master Soap (which is made with tallow and made very dense lather. ) As you can see in the video, this is a really big cup, but with its well-designed handle, it's easy to hold, and the brush rest helps keep the brush for sliding into the lather. Thank you, West Coast Shaving.

Hi Eric💈💈 Yeah a bowl for me, I like hitting that saturation point where the soap/cream to water ratio is optimized without making a mess. Hydration threshold is pinnacle for me and time is irrelevant so a bowl is part of my routine. I have many from different companies and nothing against any but Captain's Choice is my go to bowl, hand made ceramic or copper, wide and shallow compared to most, easy to hold and use without banging the sides with a brush, pre-heating is a plus, a pleasure to use😉, each to their own of course. Note: I had to polish the base plate of the American Liberty razor to remove machining marks left on the safety guard, certainly not Charcoal Goods quality as sold but it does shave good now. Great video as always and good results, thanks. See ya next time.

Great Video! I tend to bowl lather most because i can micro manage how hydrated my lather is before it hits my face. I used to paint on and shave as you described but I agree that it's worth the time to work the soap into your hair and skin.

You may have a point on the synthetic for cream I am not a fan so far on creams. prefer the puck . tried a synthetic with regular soap and did not like it. does not hold water well. I use silvertip. horse hair. and boar. brushs. like them alot. may muy another synthetic and try it with cream [ got for free ] the cream. gave my ole synthetic away. the combination may work. if not. I will stick to soap pucks. cream is weird. but I guess to each his own. some would probably like it. that's why they make it. thanks for the info. was interesting to see the lather you worked up.

Hi Eric, very good review. I spend the same amount of time lathering my face whether I gather the soap from the puck or from a bowl. I just find the bowl easier to clean up. Cheers.

Hmm.. Pereira shavery bowl copied by yaqi and presented ny wcs.. I've bought a lot of wcs original soap, yaqi badger brushes presented by wcs, but this bowl original looks much better than a plasticy looking bowl, my opinion.

G'day Eric as I do love facing lather so much, but, as we're starting to age over time as (old farts). I prefer bowl lathering instead of face lathering, mainly because, as we're starting to age over 50 and have shoulders and elbows arthritis can be very difficult to face lather. Either way, it doesn't matter as long as some men don't have any other health issues as they age, face lathering is still fantastic having a bloody good face scrub.
