"In 2007 I had returned home from a long tour with the boys and was feeling somewhat
discombobulated and out of sorts. A lot of things in my lìfe were in a state of transìtion.
I took solace in going to the back room at my house with my dear friend Chris Warren and
making music while he recorded it. I had no plan for it to be anything, only to trip out
with some instruments and for Chris to learn how to be an engineer. We had fun a lot, and
Chris put up with me being a grumpy asshole sometimes.
I have, for a long time, been in love with the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. The
beauty of the character Helen Burns ìs a quality I yearn for in all human beìngs,
including, of course, myself. Helen Burns is someone who is always present with me, and
whose hìghest ideals resonate in the deepest experiences of my life. I share this love
with, my friend, Patti Smith, and she agreed to sing a song for Helen. I am so grateful to
Patti, my sister, who is one of my favorite people on earth and ever.
This weìrd lìttle record ìs about and for Helen Burns. All of the proceeds from ìt wìll go
to The Sìlverlake Conservatory of Music.

Flea NEEDS to make more solo albums. He is just too good not to.
essential late-night-walking-through-the-citycore
It sounds exactly how i thought it would sound
.🎉
This was so incredibly beautiful
a bit of jazz, techno, lounge, pop ballad, Mars Volta, something in the style of the good Frusciante....
good job mr. Balzary!
Just Flea and John Frusciante should get together and make an album. If JF doesn't want to be with the peppers anymore, that would be the next best thing!
BRILLANTE.
that intro sounds incredible.
i listened years ago im here after listened no words new song
IDOLO.
I like!
This is a wonderful record. I first heard it the other day. I've heard it twice now while stoned, I'm finding it's good to meditate on. Do more solo records (or release more of your existing work), Flea. I just want to say that I love you man. I'm not a huge fan of RHCP or whatever, I couldn't be considered your biggest fan or anything, I've seen barely any of your interviews (if there are many); y'know, all of this, but I absolutely appreciate what it is you do musically and your collaborations with other musicians. I just think you're one of the good ones, you've got a good heart, you and River Phoenix - I hope I'm right about that (because I know how the entertainment industry works). But yeah, we're all in this together. I enjoyed reading that liner note up there, I know what you're saying, I know in my own way who it is you refer to with this Helen Burns character and how she resonates on a deep level with you - I have the same experiences as you and RJP, mystical, cosmic experiences! I'll get this CD when I have some spare change, glad there's a physical copy to get hold of. Keep being funky, anyways.
(Obviously I know this isn't Flea's channel, I was just saying in case he ever stops by and I wanted to say it.)
4/20🌶️✌️😎
OMG I forgot I bought this.
The best
Thank you, allready bought if for 5 dollar :)
flea sesi unu maccu!nokia composer as an intrument!!Genial
THIS SHIT IS FUCKING AWESOME !!!
Track 2 is fucking beautiful
It strikes me how versatile Flea is. I mean, compare this to early RHCP. Both kinds of music are awesome. But not everyone can excel at both these styles.
*****
That doesn't make much sense. Flea plays all the instruments on this EP with the exception of the drums on a couple of tracks and Patty Smith's voice (obviously).
lol
***** Hey, I'm with ya. I was just reiterating what I read in the liner notes. I bought the CD at my fav. music store down the street for .75 cents. I think it pretty well sucks. But if he is giving all proceeds to the cause that's great. (I just don't think it's gonna amount to much monetarily. (unfortunately)
sometimes i feel like kiedis limits the sound of the peppers. listening to helen burns, the solo work of frusciante, and josh's other projects one can only wonder what their music would be like if they shifted their target group from rock fans to something somewhat broader.
still love the peppers though
Enter London I dont think Keidis limits the peppers, John, Josh and Flea are diferent, diferent feelings for the music and when they are together they are the chili peppers a band work and solo work is not the same, in the band they influence each other
if it wasnt for kiedis, we probably wouldnt ever have had the pleasure of experiencing most the beautiful music that john, josh and flea created together and solo XD kiedis may not be as musically talented as them but he played a pivotal role in bringing out the best in at least john and flea! and its hard to compete with 3 of the greatest musical geniuses alive anyway :P
...pls guys don't forget Chad! His role is quite important as well ;)
@@naruto00nix flea and anthony are the chili peppers
Hes also what makes em so distinct and a great strong front man ..especially older stuff . Sometimes ur weakest strength can be ur strongest. Andy wahol

... and he owes you The Bass.
Why is the medium important? If by a or b you get to c always. I cannot careless about the medium, am I the only one around here who doesn’t mind who is the one that puts me up to date and what if this was all a work of machines in the Govt and The Guy From Red Hot Chilli Peppers (TGFRHCP) was never there and it was all a Maynard illusion?
