    I have this tent for 3 years now and counting, had more than 30+ camps and so far it's still holding up. Proven and tested with strong rain shower and some strong wind. 👌

    The point you made about the draftiness, wind blowing in, made me pause. I was leaning towards a purchase but I live in northern hemisphere U.S. and this may not work for me. Thanks for the review, friend!

      Hi Andy, we really love this tent very pleasantly surprised with the quality, pack size and weight. We recon it’s a two season U.K. tent spring/summer, for the money it’s a great buy and we are taking it on the Cleveland way, Dales way and Pennine way this year :) we will be posting a little update on the tent soon since we tested it out in the rain (it did a great job) KR Dave & Martyna

    Good review on the tent. The tent looks ok but TBF... inner pitch first.... really cant get on with that. Sometimes when the weather isn't too kind, putting that up means a very wet inside, when at that point all you want to do is get inside and be dry and away from the elements.

    • @mkrhike
      @mkrhike  3 года назад +1

      That’s very true. We will be using this as our summer tent, and this is one of the reasons we bought Hoolie 2 :)

    • @annako22
      @annako22 3 года назад +4

      You can also start with outer layer first, and then assemble the inner tent. works as well. i tried on my 2nd attempt of putting it up in my garden. maybe more hustle, but works

    I understand that the high-breathability nature of the tent does let static chill creep through the vents and mesh, but I'm curious; how _windproof_ is the fly?
    I can handle atmospheric cold, but wind chill really gets to me very quickly.

      @@mkrhike I'm in Aus, & none of my mates will come camping with me in Winter, anyway, because they're a bunch of big girl's blouses, to borrow from my dear old Granddad. ;-)
      But where I am, in a raised valley, it may not _snow_ , but even Autumn can get pretty frosty overnight. It's mostly the wind coming off the mountains that's the killer, though, so as long as the fly blocks the wind, I can manage the rest with bedding + clothes.

      Hi, from my personal experience, this tent is a perfect summer tent, its very stable on winds, waterproof on heavy rain but for me has some negatives for Autumn-winter camping.First the gap between rainfly and ground is to big and in combination with the full mesh inside, it doesnt protect you from winds, and also when it rains the water that dripping from the rainfly to the ground is splashing the mesh inside and you may get wet. I fully recomend for summer. For you i could recomend the MSR elixir 2. Mutch better quality, durable and low budget ✌️🕉

    • @mysterylovescompany2657
      @mysterylovescompany2657 3 года назад +1

      @@Kostas_B unfortunately, MSR is nothing like low budget on my scale. And the main reason I want the Naturehike Mongar is because I am obsessed with the aubergine purple fly option. ;-)
      Thanks for your review, though! That's really useful information. It's good to know of those weaknesses. I may choose against, in the end.

    • @Kostas_B
      @Kostas_B 3 года назад +1

      @@mysterylovescompany2657 I understand you, I have mine on green „neon“ rainfly and i love it... but i use it only in summer, in autumn MSR is my best option..(i have both Elixir and Mongar) if i knew before the Quality difference for the price i would buy only the MSR.. Anyway let me know what will be your last choice! And if you have more questions just ask, i have used a lot, both of them ;)

    So in rain you should not use this extra vestibul.rain runs down under the fly of the tent. I have a besport and same with naturehike the fly doesnt touch the ground, it should be bit larger. And the floor and footprint are really thin

    • @mkrhike
      @mkrhike  3 года назад +1

      Really like the look of the Vic 2. Obviously we don't have this tent but I wouldn't worry about the 15D. I think they do a lightweight material to get the breathability up, but it is single wall so no touching the sides :/ I do like the idea of a skirt (if it was a 4 season tent) Summit Or Nothing did a review of the Vic 1 if you can find him. Hope that helps a little, happy hiking! :)
