You'll need warm clothes, entertainment, creature comforts for you and your partner, healthier snacks, soap, shampoo, and more.
You need to pack 3 bags: one for you, one for mom, and one for the new baby. You need to be prepared because your partner needs you at the top of your game. The average hospital stay for a vaginal delivery is 48 hours. The average hospital stay for cesarean delivery (c-section) is 96 hours. I have a loved one that was even in labor for 85 hours! With our second child, my wife and I spent three sleepless nights sitting upright in the NICU. You need to be prepared! In this video, I'll show you how.
What to pack, what to eat, what not to forget. We did a ton of research on this topic to bring you the most useful, most important items you need to pack with you in your labor and delivery bag for the hospital for dads.

This is a great video for mom or partner to pull a list together from! I can’t believe how many comments criticized this video because it was “too much” stuff. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Literally it is a hospital bag brainstorm sesh that really lays out some key items and potential comforts.
My husband’s hospital bag from my previous pregnancy had quite a few of these things, but totally not all of them and certainly a different bag than other partners might want to have packed. My partner needed to make forays back home to take care of our dogs during the days I needed to stay at the hospital, so for him he packed light on clothes, snacks and toiletries for himself because he could get those things at home, especially since our house is 5 min from the hospital, but a dad who’s house is a 45 min drive may want a more robust supply of what might be considered essential for a mini vacay.

Yes! Ya certainly don't need all these items; just for ideas. Thanks for the comment!

    • @ThePaternalPartner

That’s funny! In the video, I say I do not recommend bringing everything here. This is to give dads ideas on items to bring. Pick and choose what makes most sense to your situation. My wife would absolutely hate the idea of an essential oil diffuser, but some women might find it very comforting. Hopefully you got some good ideas from it.
