It's good to see so much positivity around the Stop button idea. I think in a short time we will see larger ESD buttons fitted in various locations. I think a big button from the off would have frightened everyone 😉

It's a step in the right direction but I think in the future it could be made to be more of a feature but it's certainly better than everyone else with nothing at all.

  • @mikeysgarage3697

That emergency stop button would be a better feature if it was a bigger round button like the ones on other industrial equipment, I mean even trains have an easily spotted big round button for the fuel shut off.
In-cab sound level is probably the stand-out feature, it makes a huge difference to driver/operator comfort in any vehicle. I know my hearing has suffered from driving trucks, where you're unlikely to find much in the way of sound deadening, because the manufacturers are chasing every tenth of a kilogram for the sake of load capacity, over the driver going deaf from all the noise of the engine, the road and the wind they're subjected to for 9 hours a day or more.

You cannot get it wrong I hear you say confidentiality. That thing looks more complicated than the space shuttle. I remember an old IH454 I used to own about 12yrs ago, when I first got that, never driven a tractor in my life, all the levers and pedals on that frighten the life out of me, a million times simpler than that magnificent beast you are on.
I would love to see you grab somebody who isn't a farmer, never driven a tractor before and challenged him (hers are also available) to drive that tractor through a farm track and onto a field. Maybe a bit of ploughing.
I think that would make a brilliant video 🤔

Very well said about the Stop button, and it's not just for an actual emergency. From personal experience: you could easily be tucked between the wheel and a machine and be just uneasy about your next move with a hose, shaft, etc but will most likely take the dodgy shortcut rather than squeeze out, get into into the cab, squeeze back in again. This puts the safer option right within your reach. Brilliant.

    • @LordMuck
      @LordMuck  2 года назад +1

100% that's EXACTLY what it's for day in and day out.
The ability to have something there in an emergency is just a real added bonus and that could stop you having to use it in the event of an emergency.

Really like being able to configure the spools now. Have a 2008 T7060 at work that we ran a separate hose from a rear spool to be able to put a front mower into float. Also have a 2018 T7.260 which now has the ability to put the front spool into float but with a triple mower I now find myself moving my hand between the joystick and the paddles! So very pleased to see we can now configure any spool to any lever just like we've been able to on pc games for the last ten years! Thanks for the video!

I am impressed! I thought that the colour was its most outstanding feature. I was wrong! Whilst the colour is still fantastic (irrelevant, I know), the 'kill switch' button is absolutely fantastic! You are right, how could agriculture have come this far without it?! I also really like the speedometer positioning - far better location for tractors. It is a good example of using the advantages of current technology to good use and not being tied to the past when analogue gauges were bulky and had to be in the dashboard for mere logistical reasons. The designers and engineers at New Holland have clearly put a lot of effort into this tractor.

Have always liked this lord muck channel from the first time I watched the early videos, hence I subscribed , since then have never been disappointed, like I have been when looking at other channels !!!!! And so , you are now stuck with me as a viewer !!! Just loved this new Holland video, many people don’t have access to these sort of tractors, so how great it was to see over the tractor & what they are set up like inside !!!!👍👍👍 You can just see the amount of work that went into making the video, not something all of us can just do !!! Like many of us , I’ve had some “close ones “at the back of tractors, fiddling with attachments, arms , hitches etc Brilliant idea to have buttons outside, rather than reaching here & there !!! I can’t really see how a “stop “ switch has been overlooked for so long on farm equipment ???? Really good idea that !!!

Can’t fault it can you really… great video, and really pleased to hear it’s quieter inside the cab as I find our T7 just noisy enough. Your mans right about the position of the exhaust break too. We have them on our Pumas, great for road work when hauling heavy loads all day long. Massively saves your breaking system. Obviously the stop kill button almost everyone has commented on is a revelation.. my only wish would be that the button be located on the right hand side of those cluster of buttons so it’s nearer to the middle of the backend of the tractor giving you a bit less stretch to reach for it if you are caught or stuck somehow.

Emergency Stop buttons should be like on industrial machines, big red buttons with a yellow background with emergency stop wrote on it in big black letter. Once pressed they should lock in so you have to physically twist them to make them come out, it will then allow you to restart the machine but only from the main starting point It’s what has been used on industrial machinery for years all well proven stuff. If it stops one incident it’s worth it. Think it may even be the law on industrial machinery (Part of the PUWER regs I think).

I don’t normally comment on anything online, but I am breaking cover here. The stop button …. such a common sense feature. I work in technology and I love my gadgets, so how about the stop button is taken even further, why put it on the tractor (or any potentially dangerous tool) only?
How about an app on your phone with a kill button?
How about Alexa technology so you could just shout a ‘word’ that kills the machine?
We have all the tech and this could make a huge difference.
In many cases the person at risk cannot reach a button, they can shout though and often have a phone on them.
I can unlock my car from my phone, so I know this is possible.
Also having someone else with remote access, they can kill the machine from a distance too must be a benefit.
Yes Yes people can abuse it …. but there are ways around that.
I was a little surprised even the basic kill switch was not already a mandatory feature when watching this film.

In 2015 I bought a low hour New Holland T7.170 cvt. One of the main reasons was out of the tractors I looked at the T7 controls was the easiest for us to understand only ran old tractors before. In hindsight I would rather have a high output t6 or a t7.200 or 210 either she is too big or needs more power.

I ran Fendt and MF for most of the time, and i had a New Holland that i cant remember the number off, and it just felt so cheap in the cab. Its a small issue, but when you spend most of the day in a cab, you should enjoy it.

It is amazing how far farm equipment has come. It really is a wonder. Why however didn't someone just make kill switches standard on tractors when the really started to become standards. If we were honest couldn't all of us admit that at one time or other, when time was tight and we were working alone, we have been working from the ground with the power going and could have been eaten by that machine. For me especially when working from an older open station machine especially with a hand clutch and I told myself I could handle it. I think of all the old farmers with fingers and hands missing, or the ones killed in the field, and how a kill switch could have made the life or death difference. Bravo New Holland

I would like to portable tablet for tractor, so if you are mixing or adjusting spray nozzles on trailer sprayer you can adjust revs or kill the tractor from safe distance especially if hydraulic hose burst off. With these technology features how many tractor operators would like simple version which is cheaper like hydraulic handles but able switch around to what they like or simpler hand control instead of sidewinder? Don’t get wrong I do like premium cab but some would like cheaper/simple cab option?

We've heard the horrible stories of people getting caught in the spinning PTO, and if it saves one person it's all worth it. Only ONE critique of that kill switch, though. kill switch should be a mandatory thing by now on all tractors, even those little garden things, nice bigger red one next to that yellow one, nice and obvious .shes certainly a beast, would that be the equvilant to the new mf 8’s ?? i aint overly familiar with nh stuff

That tractor has more technology than than all of the space shuttles combined. I guess commercial farmers are demanding all of this technology but I can’t see it being reliable. There’s just something about Chinesium electronics that cause me to be skeptical. I hope it works well for someone.👍

You mean the same technology we've had for the last 10-15 years ? There's nothing in there that hasn't been tried and tested.

Agree with the stop button, are they on both sides of the fenders ? And on the front for front PTO ? Super quiet at 66 dB. Check out the Nebraska Tractor Tests, some of the Deere 8R's are below that figure.

Hi Lord Muck, That was one great video I think you put it over very well and yes that stop 🛑 button, As you may or may not know F1 have a lot to do with the Building family car 🚗, Now as far as I can see there is a lot of stuff that cane go in the car from the tractor, Some may not think so but just sit and think about it. Well you stay safe and well.🌈🌈🚜🚜👍.

The E-stop button needs to be the most easily seen and accessed button on the whole control panel. That one needs to be about 3 or 4 times the size with a push pull type that is illuminated while any power is live in any of the systems. They have had them on the machines that made that tractor for the last 60 years so putting them on the tractor itself is a no brainer.
Also would like to see how all the plastic buttons knobs and slides hold up in a real world situation over the next 5 or 10 years.

    • @LordMuck
      @LordMuck  2 года назад +1

Probably the same way they've held up in all the other T7's for the last 10+ years so I don't think they'll be an issue.

@@LordMuck We never had any of that fancy stuff... like cabs on our tractors let alone tinted windows and plastic do dads...lol.
40 years ago if you had told me we would have fly by wire and auto steer with GPS navigation on a farm tractor I would have set down and asked for the shite you were smoking...lol. Different times indeed.
