To call this movie "bad" is an insult. Compared to Rachel Zeigler Snow White, The Acolyte and the rest of trash movies today. Deep Rising is Absolute Pure Golden Collectors Movie.
I did watch movie on RUclips. A group of mercenaries, comedian technologists and a lovely spy are about unholy enemy at the middle of nowhere from ocean. A whole bunch of rich folks are about to be a massive meal. They are going battle a KRAKEN 😮😮😢😢!!!! AND 3 MAIN SURVIVORS GOT OUT ALIVE 🎉🎉!!
I remember watching this as a kid, 20 and such years ago in VHS. It scared me to death and I carried some of its scenes in my head ever since (specially the one with the woman inside the restroom getting sucked into the toilet). My memories were of a terrifying movie with creepy atmosphere and horrible violence. Now, watching it again as an adult two decades later, I see how campy this movie really is. The protagonist is never in real danger and keeps cracking one-liners even in the face of death, constantly breaking the tension and giving it more of an action move vibes than actual horror. It makes me think how childhood memories sometimes seem scarier than what they actually are...
One of my favorite fucking movies of all time, so glad its on RUclips for free not by RUclips, was definitely hoping as a kid that with the ending it would have another one with these three in it.
Love this movie so much. And to think that if it was successful, we could have an action-packed, brutal reboot of the King Kong franchise that was teased by the ending, instead of what we currently have with the American monster movies.
An undeniable masterpiece of monster horror movies. Underated and overlooked. And besides the budget the genius behind the monster is brilliant. You must think it only took a hour-3 hours in real time for the monster to devours everything on board. I'd rather fight a kraken
Anthony Heard even gives the “ladies and gentlemen” speech Hans and Joe gave in Die Hard and this movie is like a horror/sci-fi version of Die Hard. It even has the bad guy from Lethal Weapon 2 playing the captain may he RIP 🪦
This movie that turned the cruise ship vacation into all you can eat buffet for this big scary sea monster, also Rest In Peace, Treat Williams, and I always never his famous catchphrase: Now what?
I read that the director made this movie as a 'demo,' as he was trying to get the job to make and direct 'Skull Island.' Yup, you've read that right, the characters in the end were indeed supposedly in Skull Island. That monster that was coming right at them from the trees was none other than King Kong himself. Unfortunately, he wasn't given the chance to direct his own Kong: Skull Island movie, but he did go on to make The Mummy starring Brendan Fraser, and he hit the jackpot with that. We wouldn't get the actual Kong: Skull Island movie until almost two decades later, with Kong: Skull Island (2017) starring Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston. As an additional note online - "Yeah, it was supposed to be a Skull Island soft-reboot, but the Godzilla movie of that time flopping mixed with Harrison Ford dropping from the Treat Williams role led to the studios not having any faith in the movie, which led to it flopping and them preemptively killing off the franchise."
Apparently the director was gonna push it for that in the sequel with a new King Kong but plans fell through and the movie was scrapped but honestly I think this movie by itself without King Kong attached to it makes it very special underrated gem
@@AMSteez I believe that the sequel wouldn't be nearly as good and epic as the original Deep Rising. Putting the survivors on an island, against the King Kong? Where is the suspence and surprise, where is the terror spread by a unknown seamonster, where's the claustrophobic experience of fighing for your survival on an abandoned cruise ship in the middle of the sea, at night? There was no possible scenario that would make DR 2 successful and I honestly think it was the right decision to let that idea go.
Saw this with friends and nobody else in the theater -- we screamed, laughed, yelled and had the best time I've ever had watching a movie!
Wish I could rewatch it in theaters, but I was 3 years old at the time 😅
And? I banged your sister that same night.
This was & still is a Kick Ass movie. Memories. Thanks for uploading
They don’t make “bad” movies like this anymore. Such comfort food
But this wasn't that bad was it?
@@JohnAndy-r2iI watched this when it first came on Video I was born in 1986 I didn't think it was bad maybe a guilty pleasure but not bad
@@JohnAndy-r2iAlthough this Movie was both Funny and Terrifying if anything like that is in the Ocean Nope
Theres Bad and then there's Really Bad like Captain Marvel 🤢🤮

Saw this when it first came out . Freaked me out back then and I am so happy to be re-freaked out again 😅 TY for uploading
Ah this guilty pleasure brings back memories! Thx!
Thanks for the upload, I looked for this movie everywhere. Such Nostalgia. 😎👍💯
Nice to meet another Resident Evil fan.
80s and 90s were the best time ever for almost everything !
One of the coolest "horror-action-survival" movies ever!
This is mine and my husbands guilty pleasure, it’s brutal, horrific and hawker skis racing down corridors. The 90s was a good time to be alive
This a presequel to Kong skull island
Best movie I've seen so far thanks for uploading
If you think this is great, just 'til Pacific Rim gets another sequel.

Thanks you! THANK you!! THANK YOU!!! one of my all time top 10 movies I can watch on repeat for life.

Shame this never got a sequel read online it was supposed too but bombed at the movie theaters :-/
Thank Titanic for that
I just pretend this is connected to the Tremors Series!😂 Where’s Burt when you need him?!😂
Literally my childhood favorite
when the guy saying the speech said "So Rich" and everyone laughed.. that cracked me up.
At least the monster had expensive taste, why eat at McDonald’s when you eat at marks and Spencer.
It’s straight out of Die Hard even beginning with Ladies and Gentleman
Rest in Peace Treat Williams.
19:15 1:23:13 Computer Keyboard sound scene.
The Bad Guys were funny as fuckin' hell.😂😂 N "Benny" stayed doin' some fucked up shit or stayed gettin' into fucked up situations 😂😂
This was one of the first scary movies that got me hooked on scary movies!
Guns, Comedies, and Horrors Galore! 👍👍
One of the Few Movies, that I wish gotten a Sequel.
This movie should've been released at a different time it would have definitely made money
Too bad this movie didn't do well. I always loved it!!
Rip treat Williams such an underrated actor love the substitute movies

Love it!!! Thanks for sharing this cult movie!!
They don’t make ’em like this anymore
My recording cut off too soon on tv so had to come here to see the ending, kind of silly but fun to watch.
Nostalgia nostalgia.
I saw this with some friends at hotel once and the Billy scene will forever traumatize me 😂

Such an underrated thriller
1:28:51 this monster make me nightmare
Just saying, All the Missionary/Mercenary Bad Guys were handsome tho, give'em that 😅😂.

memories from my 1st days of college
this movie was the reason why we had Brendan Frasier's The Mummy
Ha ha. That ending. Not sure what to make of it
It begs for a sequel! The way he just says, “Now what?” makes you wonder if they’re going to survive.😂

I wish the character Leila live longer until the end of the movie. I laughed when the mercenaries got beat to the punch.
Looks like they found the place where the monster lives 1:38:09
Stick with the muscles
