I was happy to see Justin Fields on the field against the Ravens when he was needed to run. I hope that Justin doesn't get discouraged by not starting, We need him. The Coaches and team really like Justin, we want him to stay a Steeler.
@@GMS2031 Seems to me that the Bears have the same problems with their current QB. Justin was not the problem in the windy city. Justin can be developed and learn to throw the long ball. The other players on the team as well as Mike Tomlin like him and want him to remain on our team. 🙂
Don't forget though he did get to play 6 games(1/3 of reg season), which is a lot more playing time than a lot of these other 2nd string QB's are getting..is def is an asset
Everyone saying the Ravens handed it to the Steelers, with missed field goals and penalties, which I understand, but still, if the Steelers get just two of those possessions in the end zone instead of just 3, it would've been a blowout!! We got the dub, and THAT'S what counts🖤💛🏉
That Wilson interception was GORGEOUS. That deserves to be a Highlight of the Year, without a doubt! What a play for a ROOKIE. Very proud of him. When you're a rookie on the STEELERS' defense, you better come to play every game, because you're representing a legacy of elite defenses. This Steelers lady is very happy with our season so far, even though there's little worse than losing to the cowgirls.... Ugh, that one stings. Should be 9-1 tbh. But still, I'm happy! Now, let's focus on continuing our wins and offensive improvements, and get a win over Kansas City coming up soon!
There’s a lot of emotion playing a team &coach that drafted you and they get a free agent and choose to pay him over you and let you go .. then you go to the Steelers & the same team and fans that you thought loves you are talking crap about u now
Coach Tomlin and is staff made some bold moves to strengthen this team from the average team it was last season to a more complete team it is now. Not everyone agreed with Mike Tomlin when he made the move to Rush Wilson, but he knew what was needed. In addition to the Trades the Steelers organization made right before the deadline got us more great players to help win games in the most difficult Sports league on the planet.
Russ didn't throw and interception, the receiver is 6-7 and didnt jump for the ball. He just kept flat footed. If he would have jumped a little bit he could have caught it! Russ threw it high so he had a chance to catch it!!
Let's all assume that a 6'7" guy is good at jumping. 2) Russ has been inaccurate every game. Only because NFL fans confuse wins for being all the QB & fall in love with narratives do they miss this. The TD to Mike Williams last week? No one was past MW. Yet he had to slow down to not overrun the under-thrown pass. Still, it's an improvement. Calvin Austen had to stop completely to catch his. & again, why? No one was further down the field. Pickens had to turn around & leap to reach over the shoulder of the defender Russ' pass would have hit to catch his the 1st game r=Russ was in & his other highlight reel pass from that game was sheer luck because he hit the defender *in the helmet.* It bounced off of that _twice_ before it got caught. Meanwhile Fields' best throws are probably the best by any QB this year, only they all got annulled by penalties. He simply has the Worst Luck.
The offense has a mental block every time in the red zone ! Every player's mindset must change for the better. If a touchdown isn't scored from the red zone in every game from now on, your team will lose ! The offense can drive down the field , so stay with what works, don't change. Additionally, stop taking risks and chances on bad play calls, especially in the wrong end of the field. Thanks !
1) Russ always had problems throwing short passes, especially over the middle, consistently. As for when Fields "couldn't" score TDs either, those guys who do the weekly QB videos looked into things. Pickens has been dragging his feet on routes. The only time any of them had ever seen a WR do this is when they _knew_ they weren't gonna be targeted. Smith had reduced the # of snaps Pickens got *and told him when he wasn't gonna get the ball - when **_Fields_** was in at QB! **_All_** of this stopped when* they put Russ in. A staffer went on Mina Kimes & said Fields wasn't throwing to open receivers. So, either 1) these staffers, Tomlin included (who didn't correct the staffer or defend Fields) are too stupid to see what Smith is doing to undermine Fields, or 2) they're _okay_ with it. In which case Fields needs to sign with Any Other Team next season. Because this staff will continue to ruin his career.
u mean the 5 drop passes that couldve been a TD? that checkdowns? or the collapsing Oline that got him sacked 5+. stop blaming russ off the bat like hes at fault. someone show washington how to jump next time.
Go Steelers! A real nail-biter to the very end, as usual. Best way to celebrate is with a big ol’ fish sandwich from Wholey’s tomorrow in the strip district.
Russ showed his age today, that being said we're gonna need to use Justin Fields more especially in the red zone and short yards plays. Because he can run for the first down and TD
One game without a TD in 120+ games in the pro and you said Russ showed his age and Fields should be used in the red zone? 😂 That’s just part of the NFL. Brady in his prime got shut down plenty of times and relied on his kicker to win games. Casual much?
@@SiDung-qg7rn..since when you ever see your QB Justin draw the ball to end zone..please stop finger point at Russ..Your justin field jnows only runs then draw the ball shh..
Your observations highlight the complexities of evaluating quarterback performance, particularly when considering factors like receiver adjustments and penalties. Let's delve into these points: **Russell Wilson's Deep Passes:** - **Mike Williams' Touchdown:** In a recent game, Wilson connected with Mike Williams for a touchdown where Williams had to decelerate to secure the catch. This suggests the pass was slightly underthrown, requiring the receiver to adjust his route. - **Calvin Austin's Reception:** Similarly, Calvin Austin had to halt his momentum to catch a pass, indicating another instance of an underthrown ball. - **George Pickens' Catch:** In Wilson's first game with the Steelers, George Pickens had to pivot and leap over a defender to make a catch, showcasing both the receiver's skill and the need to compensate for the pass's placement. These examples suggest that while Wilson's deep passes have been effective, they often require significant adjustments from his receivers. This aligns with analyses highlighting Wilson's deep-ball accuracy as a key factor in the Steelers' offensive resurgence. **Justin Fields' Unfortunate Penalties:** Justin Fields has demonstrated impressive passing abilities, but several of his standout throws have been nullified by penalties: - **Touchdown to George Pickens:** A touchdown pass was negated due to an offensive pass interference call on Van Jefferson. - **Deep Throw to Calvin Austin III:** A significant gain was erased by a holding penalty on Broderick Jones, nullifying what was described as an "absolutely ridiculous throw" by Fields. These instances underscore the challenges Fields has faced, where his high-quality throws have been overshadowed by team penalties, affecting his statistical performance and the team's outcomes. **Conclusion:** While Russell Wilson's deep passes have contributed to the Steelers' offense, the need for receiver adjustments indicates areas for improvement in pass placement. Conversely, Justin Fields has showcased exceptional passing talent, but his efforts have been undermined by penalties negating significant plays. These factors highlight the importance of considering the broader context when evaluating quarterback performance, beyond just statistics and outcomes.
