- I love this part of Lisbon, and really felt inspired by it lately. I’m regularly seeing artists spend hours working on these pieces. Graca has some pieces that I see tourists stopping and there are some famous pieces here, along with some beautiful murals lining dead end streets that nobody seems to walk through.
I just put together some shots that I really love the look of. I hope you like them too. Thanks for watching.
I think this has to be the most respected video Simon has released since the divorce! I've always been a fan of BOTH MARTINA AND SIMON. I do not live their lives or know them IRL so i do not want to criticize their life. The shots from this video is top-quality! i think you understand, Simon, that the fans want more of this. excellent cinematography with you just living life.
Dude! You’re looking healthy and happy. Glad to see it ❤️
Hey Simon!! I'm happy for your new awakening on life, but I LOVE this type of content over your book club..... sorry not sorry.
Lol. That’s very fair. I’m glad you like this content at least 😆
@@eatyourkimchi I do, keep it up and I hope you're happy.
I agree, i like this more natural content better than the book club.
That was a cool video! 👍
What a beautiful city! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful!
Loved the vid, I were a fan of you two but fall over with time because I also had some bumps on the way with relationship, didnt knew about the situation, I hope for the best for you two, and also hope you feel better with time accept yourself, make piece try not to be regretful and move on with your life. Also didnt know you were here in Portugal, I dont like Lisboa so much😅(regional Wars👺) but it has much to see and good things too
Well done video.... love the angles, shots and editing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Simon if you ever come back to Portugal, please visit Gêres, I think you will fall in love with how beautiful it is!!
:D
Picturing Simon positioning the camera: 📷set up...🙇🏻♂ looks good...👍🏻ok.. GET OUT OF FRAME 🏃🏻♂🏃🏻♂🏃🏻♂🏃🏻♂💨 ----- ... 🦮🚶🏻doo dee doo dee dooo.
Goodness, Simon... your cinematography is stunning! I wish this video was a feature film! Beautiful!
Its the quality for me! Good job filming Simon. What camera are you using?
Thank you! I’m using the Sony Zv-E1 😊 It just came out and offers a lot more dynamic range, and it’s very small and portable. I love it!
I think this is it you found your self bro it is amazing, I want to see more 😍
I rewatched it multiple times thats how good it is
Well, this was wonderful to read. Thank you! I’m glad you liked it. I feel inspired to make more like it 😊
Great video thank you !!!
Beautiful video. I loved the street art shots. If you do another video, can you feature the artists and maybe interview them? Thank you.
That’s the goal!
I loved this video! Maybe you could make a video showing a typical Portuguese meal? Like separate videos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Just an idea, no pressure. I'd really love to learn more about Portugal 😊
Also, Fudgy is the BEST boi! He's so well-behaved! 🐶
I'm thinking about the different foods I'd like to share. I'm glad you're interested :D
Thanks for the upload, Simon!
Thanks for the comment ❤️
Great video Simon I’m glad you felt comfortable sharing, good to see you. I hope to see more videos like this
First! Lol
You are in my country and my city?? Awsome!!! Are you enjoying?
I love it here, especially in the Spring! The weather here is perfect.
More like this please :D
More coming 😉
Very nice
Right on, Simon! You have a real talent for editing--don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!
Lisbon is one of my favourite European cities. I need to go back.
Oh wow now that was a cool video! It is very interesting to me as I have never seen what Portugal is like.
I was excited to see we would go for a walk.
Fudgy really likes that ball. Good boy!
The art along the way is so cool and modern.
But the last shot was my favourite when the sea came into view. It really opened my heart. Lovely church as well in the background. (I like looking at churches)
Thank you for posting! That was really refreshing. Like a mini holiday.
At the end, that is actually Tagus River (Rio Tejo), not the sea 😝
This was a great video! Keep it up Simon. Best of luck.
You have the most patient dog in the world. With all of those cuts, he must have been super anxious to get going. Love this!!
He really is very well behaved. I was worried he'd be frustrated getting in and out of the elevator so often, because it's so close to outside (and he fucking loves the outside), yet he was able to go with the flow quite patiently.
Simon!!! I’m so happy to see you back in your element!! I missed you!!
beautifully shot!!! great work, simon.
Thank you! I just got a new camera and drone and I'm still trying to figure them out, but I really like how some of these shots turned out, and I appreciate the encouragement!
@@eatyourkimchi it looks really good, it has a cinematic feel and the only way is up; excited to see what you make in the future! xx
I like the direction you're going with this video. Quiet travel vlogs of quaint little places with Fudgy.
I'm glad you like it as well. I wasn't sure if I should do any talking, and I felt resistance to it. Can I show rather than tell? I'm so used to shouting on camera, and I wonder if there's another way to inspire...
Simon, thanks for the video. I am a long time fan and I can say I feel this video is one that really reaonates with the base this channel created. I am really glad to see it. I never had anything against you, just some of the new content was not for me compared to the old. This was great though and I appreciate it.
Well, thank you for saying that kindly :D
Loving the content simon! Give us more man c:
Really great video simon thanks for sharing!!! 🫳🏻🫳🏻 thats me petting Fudgy for being a good boy ❤❤ haha
🐶🐕🐶🐕🐶🐕 That's Fudgy's reaction to being pet :D
Awesome vid! I'm glad you feel inspired. I really like this form of content and I hope you choose to share more of your new life. 😊 Fudgey is super cute too ❤
Does anyone know what the song is at 2:20? ;w;
Чувак, как ты похудел.
Have you moved or just on holiday?
I've been here since November 2021. This is home for me now :D
@@eatyourkimchi ooh I didn’t know that!! Good choice!
Yeah, it's been a pretty great choice for me so far. I do love the sunshine and weather here.
Awesome video!
Hope your doing wonderful.❤ Much love from Hawaii. The video looks beautiful
Thank you! I'm doing ok. I'm enjoying filming around Lisbon and Portugal lately. It's looking a lot different to me lately.
Simon!!! Good to see you!
How many cameras are you using 😮
Two :D
That was so wholesome thank you for sharing! ❤
Oh how I just love these kind of videos! Thank you so much for sharing.. It put a big smile on my face.. Thanks!
I adore Lisbon
Who would have thought id ever be in the same country as eyk. Portugal is amazing. I hope youll enjoy it as much as i am ❤
I'm loving it so far. What part of Portugal is your favorite?
@@eatyourkimchi i cant judge fairly yet as i havent been to the north. Tho they say porto is really cool. I live in the algarve. There are some really cool places here too. In the winter i walk my dogs on a hike from armacao de pera to praia da marinha which is an absolutely beautiful walk on top of the cliffs. If ur ever in the algarve with fudge that is a walk i recommend
This is all so gorgeous!
This is where your artistic talents TRULY excel!
wow amazing😍
I love this!
Loved the interesting shots and artsy style, for lack of better wording 😅Hope you and Fudgy are enjoying your travels/ new home :)
Thank you! I felt very artsy with this, and I'm glad it came across in the video :D
LOVED the video and Lisbon really is beautiful :) Thanks for sharing :) I Hope to see more of your new home :)
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement! I've been posting shorter snippets on Instagram @simonsbookclub, and I'm thinking about posting my bigger videos here :D
@@eatyourkimchi Of course! I live by the rule to treat everyone with respect and encouragement. I do follow your IG and love the posts :) You absolutely should post some more long videos. I loved the travel vid you did about a year-ish ago.
I like this a lot. Can't wait for more. Glad you're doing well, Simon :)
nice, love the camera work simon
Thank you! I really enjoyed filming this.
Looks like an amazing place and I love watching dogs play there's just something so uncomplicated
I know right? It's hard not to feel nice inside when you see how much joy dogs have when they play ❤️
That was cute!
Thank you! I really liked the part when Fudgy wants to bite the ball, and then I hold it a bit, and his face turns into a smile.
❤
Cinematography is next level
I appreciate the hard work you put in to make this video. Just amazing.
Please take your own water for the dog, the Sylvia in communal water bowls can be infested with parasites. Speaking about our own bad experience. ❤
Wow! Thanks for the heads up.
Wow! Great to see the more confident, fun side of you peek out in this video! +like!
Oh I loved this!
I love Lisbon
Me too. It’s an absolutely gorgeous city.
Torn between really really hating the other new content & really really REALLY liking this one
I hear you. I don’t think I’ll be doing much of the other new content, and instead focusing on more like this.
This was lovely to see. ❤❤
Finally a normal video, love this, hope you keep on this path
Are you going to document your journey to learn Portuguese?
I'm loving this content. I admire how bold and adventurous you are moving to different countries and experiencing different cultures. It looks amazing. Thank you for continuing to share your journey.
Great video ! ❤❤ So awesome to see Fudgy and you enjoying each others company ! And most importantly hope you are doing fine and have been eating well
I'm doing ok. My eating is strange lately. As soon as it gets warm outside, my diet changes to just having a big breakfast, and then snacking on fruit for the rest of the day.
Beautiful shots. I think it would be nice to hear some of your philosophical ideas accompanied with beautiful footage.
When i started to watch this video i thought, oh cool shot with your head out at the beginning of the video, then, oh cool shot entering the elevator, oh lovely shots with the doggie, then, oh this is lovely with the coffee and the whole ambiance.... In short, my gosh Simon you are a great film maker, Loved quite a lot this video. Keep it up! This content is so calming yet energetic!
I’m glad you liked the shots, and that you felt the vibe I was going for. Thank you! I really liked putting this together, and hope to do more like these in the future 😊
this is some Wes Anderson level of cinematography 😳
Can you do a video on Portuguese saudade?
You know, I had a talk with a Portuguese friend here once about her experience of melancholy. I tried to see how she felt it, and to see how that aligns with my understanding. For her, melancholy wavered between positive and negative, which for me was surprising, because I knoll viewed melancholy as a negative feeling. I think that maps on to the idea of Saudade, and maybe she was talking about that instead?
Emotions are a weird thing, because they're culturally taught to us, rather than naturally within us, and if we didn't grow up with the culture, it'll be hard to really feel those emotions. I don't know how I'd be able to do a video on Saudade, as it's not something I can feel as deeply as others, you know?
But I do like the art that saudade inspires, and maybe I can run with that. I dunno. Thanks for the thought provoking comment ❤️
MORE……MOOOOORE
plz?
I'm from Lisbon. Portugal is magical. You should visit Sintra! My favorite place :)
I love how confused the dog is walking past the camera that you just sat down it's like "wait wait are we are we going back yet or are we just going to keep going forward? when are we going backwards?"
I'm sure Fudgy was indeed very confused, and I also think he's gonna get used to it soon :D
Why portugal though?
Really, my reasoning is kinda embarrassing: I didn't want to be in Canada anymore. I'm not my best in the cold. So, I looked for the warmest countries in Europe, and Portugal was on that list. Then I looked up Meetup events to see how many were hosted in English, because I wanted to go to a place where I could connect with people more easily. And that, basically, is how I made my choice :D
relatively easy to immigrate to, warm.
