Did anyone else get chills watching Rachel's Baserunner approach the Khar-Toba? It was literally exactly the same cinematic as the start of Homeworld.

After watching this, I bought the game. What a joke, the only way I'm gonna win is if the Gaalsiens die of laughter, or surrender out of pity. Being in real time while my brain is still processing stuff from yesterday is insane, I panic, press all the wrong buttons and watch my poor friends die by the hundreds. It is entertaining I admit, almost as funny as the rag doll effect in Half Life multiplayer, which I played to see what the most ridiculous way to die was.
I have later stage COPD and have difficulty leaving the house, so games are my main form of entertainment (I don't have a TV, I'm sick of people talking to me like an 11 year old with learning difficulties, soaps and game shows leave me cold) but after a stroke my brain is kaput. Now I'm a 'game tourist', and that bites. Watching you play has been an awesome experience, I love your sense of humour. Well done mate, you have made my world a slightly better place. Before you ask, no, I'm not showering with you :P
But I will subscribe, keep it up, I am super jealous of your job.
I have no idea if this will help but, try it on the easiest difficulty level until you win the first one and then redo it on the next lvl up...
Do that for each stage until you find controlling and using the interface becomes natural... Trust me, many of us have difficulty handling these things...
And remember, you don't get killed doing this, lol... It's just a game, try as many times as you need...
I played the Originals when they first came out and had my ass handed to me often before I got past the stages...
I nvr once went thru a stage first try successfully... At any difficulty level...

Yea. They're great. And you can play after Deserts of Kharak without knowing the story, 'cause Homeworld 1 is set around 100 years after Deserts of Kharak.
great games..but if you can find the remasterd versions in other palces such as G.O.G ..go there instead rather then supporting steam and its asshole treatment of both customers and honest quality concerned devs.
This was the best game I've ever seen! I used to play Tomb Raider because of the art, music and animation but this game blew that one out of the park. I'm thankful to all techno-nerds! Thanks Raptor! You are Da Man!

I'd absolutely love to see Raptor play the rest of the series, but man. If you thought it was dull watching him sit around collecting every single CU in Deserts of Kharak, you have _no idea_ the hell that awaits you watching him sit around collecting every single RU in HW.
No need, All RUs (except debris) that are not harvested in HWRM 1&2 are automatically added to your balance when you hyperspace out.

From the moment the Ashinta enters the battlefield you can win this map in 2-3 minutes. I discovered this on my first playtrough. Just hit the Ashinta with all you got stright away. Orbital laser, nukes, bombers and what not. It should go down easy enough. When the super carrier shows up jus move all your units a little to the south west, close to the resorce fielld. This should put on its path and it's going to run into your units fire and die.
The beautifully crafted Tragedy of this is K'had Saajuk was absolutely right. the Gaalsien had become Curators of forgotten knowledge, their history twisted into a religion and kept secret from the world at large. He genuinely cared/feared for the safety of Kharak and knew for certain pushing out into space would bring swift and harsh retribution.
raptor i loved this series i really hope you do the other homeworlds. I don't think i've ever seen you get overwhelmed like you were at the beginning i think youll really enjoy the other games!

Hey Raptor, "Gailsen air units inbound." A very cinematic experience.
It was the discovery of a fragment of a star map after the final battle that united the world with the hope of finding where they originally came from that was the starting point for HOMEWORLD.
The Guide Stone, and the Hyperspace Core.
And yes the core WAS discovered in that city as part of the lore of HW1. The game itself is not as clear, but the strategy guide included plenty of lore. they use to be ohh so good, and now its "do this, then this , then this..."

Please, PLEASE play Homeworld 1 and 2 after you finish the the newer run you've started; the story of the Homeworld trilogy is absolutely astounding, and it's worth playing just to find out what happens to the Kiiths.
Maybe it's not that the orbital weapon is weak, it's just that the carrier is stroonk

I've never played any homeworld games nor its genre of game ...except starcraft back in the day lmao...is this worth getting? Great video btw
Deserts of Kharak holds your hand some compared to the original games, but well worth. my advise is get a copy of the strategy guide, it was instrumental in the time i finally beat HW1. that game honestly goes from hold your hand to fuck you just die in less than 1 mission. Just be aware that HW2 and HW1 remastered use an brutal scaling system compared to the original HW1, you could easily find yourself out gunned by a uncomfortable margin. Would recommend the original if you arnt on Windows 8 or latter (they crash then :( ).

A "million" playthrougs later, still a great game. If you have never played it, you need to as what you've seen here is probably not what will happen to you.
That said, a hardcore mode would have been excellent to ensure we'd allcome back too many times...
Strange, for me this mission was very short on normal difficulty. Under 20 mins. The flagship went down so easy I felt this was the easiest mission from the campaign.

Man i hated this level. It was supposed to be epic. But the rubber banding Ai really ruined it for me. I mean using the lazer, the cruise missles and air strikes to take out the surrounding cruisers and smaller craft. Only to find out that the Carrier pretty much Replaced all it's losses in 1 FUCKING Second. I was like what the fuck. It rebuilt all 8 cruisers INSTANTLY and their support craft as well. I only beat it by using turrets to draw away it's fleet leaving it alone and exposed. and attack moved my entire fleet to fight the carrier by itself, Went down in under 2 mins.
"What's here that's so special?" XD dude go play Homeworld now please.

in homeworld the first hyper space jump from here brought the end of the planet.. I forget who but they glassed the planet.. it was around the time they removed the huge hyper space inhibitor...
the Taiidan Empire had a fleet that burned the atmosphere after some pirates alerted them to the Kushan test.

Why do you lead the orbital weapon so much?? It's only doing minimal damage because you're not getting direct hits. If you just fire it at the front of the ship it'll score a direct hit center mass.

If you're going to play through the Homeworld games, I would def. recommend Homeworld Cataclysm. It's a very atmospheric and chilling game as the galaxy at large, and the mining clan kiith somtaaw in particular react to a major galactic threat.

Was I the only one going "SHOOT. THE. CARRIER." When the orbital weapon was ready to fire, and he went like 2 minutes without using it. And then facepalming when ever, single, time, he aimed way too far ahead.
