Hi Cheryl, thanks for putting this together. I'll have to go check out some of these books since I've never heard of any of them! One of my favourite books about sketchbooks is An Illustrated Life by Danny Gregory. There's a second volume called An Illustrated Journey that I would like to someday get my hands on too!
Hi Louise I love Danny Gregory! I read The Creative License: Giving Yourself Permission to Be the Artist you truly are. Another author I love is D. Price -How to Make a Journal of Your Life. This little book is a gem! He also wrote The Moonlight Chronicles: a Wandering Artist Journal. (travel-related journaling)
@@cherylwarrick Thanks for the suggestions! I'd never heard of Dan Price before - I'll need to check out his books for sure! Actually another couple of books I like to flip through for inspiration is 1001 Artist Journal Pages, and A World of Artist Journal Pages (both curated by Dawn DeVries Sokol). There's a real mix of different styles, from pure sketching to pure collaging and everything in between. I'm always amazed by the amount of imagination among these artists!
Thanks for watching! I’d love to know if you have any favorite books about sketchbooks?
This was a great video! Thank you for sharing
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
