I’m only about 6 minutes in, but I have to say, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I started illustrated mixed media journaling just a few months ago and one of the best parts of the journey is seeing how other artists combine their materials to make the most of them. I have years of paint/pen/ink/pigment/pencil hoarding that I’m excited to finally face responsibly and put to good use ❤

Your art has a very 1960s-1970s vibe to it that I really like. You have a gift for interesting patterns that would make amazing textiles or wallpaper designs (as you even mentioned at 10:05 with the beautiful blue pattern). I especially liked the pages at 9:40, 6:40, 13:37, 13:58, 14:10, and the "jelly beans"! Your idea of collaging with your own patterns is awesome.

Ooh, excited to watch this one! I recently bought this set at Office Depot, not realizing that they're brushes, and loved them as soon as i opened them and started using them. I have the brush pen (not "paint like") in other colors. Unlike COPIC alcohol markers, these Sharpie Creative Markers don't bleed through Midori notebook journal paper, so i can paint in there, too, not just my sketchbook. I also like the fine-tip Sharpie no-bleed pen for writing in my daily carry 3x5" spiral lined notebook (Target's Threshold brand), and it works great even if I'm laying on my back and writing overhead.

When you say Sharpies markers do you mean Sharpie paint pens/creative markers? My sharpie markers bleed through to the back side. I don’t see that in your journal. The colors also,seem more like Sharpies paint pens. Can you clarify?

I appreciated your review. I am sitting here with an untouched set of Daniel Smith watercolors on a series of dot sheets and wasn't sure exactly what to do with them. This video helped me. I especially appreciate that the cards show the number of pigments in a paint so I get a sense if it will make mud when I go to mix it with another paint color.

Love this, books I haven't seen. I always find art books really get my brain going m sketchbooks will. It be shared. But I love seeing these. Thanks long ago I saw the original Tier ice by Picasso. An experience for which I have few words, but tears

I think these are very worth it. If you buy, say, one a month, you can spread the cost. And you're right sometimes you see a color and gotta have it!!!

Oh my god, i really need this! I usually get watercolors, usually in tube, and never know how the color will look in the paper unless i use a corner to test or wing it

art is so subjective... some of those sketchbook pages were "meh" (ie: 5:19)... and as I flip through my own sketchbooks - I would say some of my pages blow these out of the water! Lol.. but I am a nobody so no one puts them into a book. Same with the Picasso book... you kept saying "Amazing...".. but if someone just handed you a random print and it didn't have the name "Picasso" on it - would you still think it amazing or just odd looking scribbles, lines and colors (ie: 9:02)? I think it is the same for small restaurant chefs... some can cook amazing dishes that blow the dishes produced by so called "celebrity chefs".. but since they didn't get on TV - no one thinks they are amazing.
