Ben deserved to win because he didn't actively sabotage himself by not using his cards
my favorite part is Sam predicted someone would post exactly this on the layover podcast.
Real
@@mcguillotinehe predicted it because it was clearly true. Sam really wasn't looking to win, and wanted it over.
@@tristancleary I think he just looked very stressed, especially on the train ride where he moved to the other location. But he definitely didn't play well
I don't understand why sam just discarded curse of the jammed door when the seekers HAD to go in and out of stations to ask questions, that would have been so op lol
Edit: did not expect this to blow up... would like to emphasize this is in no way a criticism!! was just rooting for sam and was sad things didnt play out the way i expected. great season yall
I would have taken and played Drained Brain myself.
@@wschmrdr Drained Brain, Jammed Door, Veto-ing the tallest building question. Any of these would have been game-changers (well... if he Vetoed, they probably would have just reasked the question since it would only have given Sam 2 cards)
Everyone of these would have given more than a 10 min or 15 min Bonus.
Only to go in
@@nSnowCrow Drained Brain would have been a bit of a gamble, depending on what questions he banned. So it might not have been worth 10-15 minutes.... HOWEVER! the OTHER Curse would have likely given him at least 2 hours as it has been shown Ben and Adam are incredibly unlucky with their dice rolls and considering anytime they fail, they are basically guaranteed to lose their next train....

Also Sam : Wow photo of tallest building is going to give them a lot of information
Also also Sam : alright sending them the photo
DUUUUUUDE
he already discarded at this point
@@erickbarbosa2935 I meant the tallest building from the station not the tallest building while in the final hiding spot. My bad, had to specify
Wasn't that after he discarded the card in exchange for more time bonuses
@@afatcatfromsweden photo of tallest building from the station 38:35

yup these guys really don't like a veto. could be wrong but I don't think any have used one. I mean even if they can just ask again, at least you get more card draws if they do.
This was honestly one of the most frustrating runs I’ve watched in all of Jet Lag. Sam didn’t use either of his vetoes, he discarded the Curse of the Jammed Door, and he didn’t randomize the thermometer. I feel like he definitely could have won had he played smartly, or at least made it very close.
That being said, I wonder if Sam was as tired mentally as Ben and Adam were physically tired.
It is hype that they are tied for all time wins going into next season!
randomizing the thermometer would have given them another thermomether, I doubt that would.have helped him much
but I agree that he threw
Sadly we are complaining at a brick wall since they ignore us here.
If he randomized the thermometer, there would have been a chance of getting a thermometer that required them to take a train or at least waste a lot of time to complete it, even possibly making it less efficient if he was within their range
@@Def4ult_User tbf it is pretty hard to act on comments that are made like 2 months in the future...
It seems like almost any curse is better than a 5 or even 10 min bonus because of the delay and frustration it can cause
The fact that Sam didn’t spend any time researching a new hiding spot is just crazy too me. He loves creating crazy high risk plans and this time he just wasted an absoulutely busted card. Moving farther into the city was not going to give him the winning run. Bro had no strategy. Ben totally deserved that win
oh yeah, I mean, Ben definitely earned it. Even his first run was near perfect.
I also think Sam used the Move card wrong I think he should have used it right away before Adam and Ben narrowed down where he was.
@@lonegrimo6098 You shouldn't use the move card right away because its rules require you to reveal the station you were hiding at upon playing it, which means from the start of the run they can significantly reduce the map because they already know you're within one hour of XYZ station
Idea: Hide and Seek Versus. One hider, two seekers, but the two seekers are going on their own paths to see who can find the hider the fastest. Each player gets 1 hide turn. By the end the player who found a hider the fastest, wins
Briliant idea! I'd love to see that!
Cool idea, but you would miss out on any banter between the contestants
That’s basically sardines but it seems like a fun idea
@@alfiewright1396they could do it with 6 people bringing back more of the previous or new contestants all teamed up with a jet lag member
Look at these episodes, about 80% of the content is from the banter between the seekers, that's the fun thing about jetlag, and also the reason the capture the flag doesn't have the same feel
the fact that ben still had his lemon wrapped to his wrist after they went back to tokyo for the outro is just hilarious
I found it hilaroous that Adams lemon vanished in the teleport.
other question: how did Ben wear this suit the whole 6 days? Did he bring multiple ones? Did he wash and dry it every day? I have never tried to wear one outfit for a prolonged time, so I lack experience how one does it
@@covellin_ It looks like they each wore the same outfit the whole time.

I will never skip another jet lag comment section
Ben crashing out at 28:38 is so very funny. Poor guy thought he was going to lose his lead. Lucky for him Sam misplayed almost every card afterwards
Sam didn't want to play anymore it seems
@ I feel like that may be part of it, there's gotta be a reason we didn't see his perspective once the endgame started. Maybe he was going for a bit that got scrapped in post?
Unsure of the source, but a lot of people on the subreddit are saying his mic wasn't working towards the end, so there wasn't any usable footage of the last few questions.
I genuinely felt so bad for him. I had an absolute pit in my stomach. It was like someone had died.
I think Sam fumbled his second location, he could’ve vetoed those questions to distract them into yokohama area
giving up the vetos and not using the jammed door really cost him. that could have made his run.
I don't know, the vetos really do seem to just answer the question most of the time (either you honestly use it, which tells the seekers they're heading the right direction, or you try to fake them out by using it, which sends them in your direction anyway). I think vetos are really only usfeful in endgame scenarios (take a selfie, tallest thing you can see, etc).
@@PalmelaHanderson In some cases you're right especially when it's a one or the other situation. But for photo of the tallest building, I think the veto is great. Lots of places of singular, distinctive buildings that you wouldn't want the seekers to see.
I think they wanted to show off the move card in the deck their selling so he drew it on purpose in the last round but threw the game at the second location because he didn't want to win by cheating
There is a slight possibility the he "had to" nerf himself, in order for them to tie which might make the next season more interesting, or in order for the episode to be not too long, or perhaps their time in Japan was getting towards the end. I'm saying it could be a strategic loss for the channel. Then again, no single person is as perfect as all the youtube comments combined, not even Sam.
- move card cliffhanger
- "sams winning the game"
- 55 minute long finale
- "nvm he's cooked"
- move card added a mere 2ish hours to his time
I don't think he used it very effectively.
He could have stacked curses knowing he had Move and playing it discards his hand(so holding onto any extra time is wasted), and also planned his destination(rather than just picking a random station).
If he'd planned the move card more effectively I think he could have made it very close at the end.
@@scragar I'm pretty sure they were tired and just wanted to get it over with at that point
I was screaming just use your damn cards
Yeah Sam definitely played this weirdly. Usually he would’ve spent the whole time looking for a clever route to change to for his move card yet he spent no time strategizing at all and just used it on a whim
He couldve used the jammed door curse instead of throwing it away. He even said they probably will move between trains to find the building AND cant ask when on a train/in a trainstation. Choked in the final moments of his run.
This season has the record for the most all time record boneheaded plays by the most people in different rounds. Seriously, Sam had 6 hours to plan the exact perfect time to play the move card where train schedules lined up in exactly the right way to put him in the most obscure location that's absolutely impossible to narrow down easily.. and he spent 6 hours doing nothing and then hopped on the first random train to anywhere that was trivial for the seekers to narrow down to a pinpoint in two questions.
One of my favorite things about the Snack Zone is the fact that every segment is either shorter than the intro or outro, or there's just an awkward silence for several seconds before they say two words

@ They do watch the comments section, and Adam was particularly annoyed at people thinking he fumbled with veto.
The told on the Layover about this, long story short both Adam and Ben disagree it was a mistake from Adam to not use veto.
Sam not taking curse of the bird guide while literally inside a park with a pond is absolutely wild. Go buy bread and you have an easy 15 minutes which is almost unbeatable
They don't use bread to feed birds, that's how Adam and Ben screwed up a challenge in Australia and lost South-Australia
Bread is bad for birds, also not sure about the "feeding the birds" laws in Japan.
They don't do everything they can to make it as long as possible. They just try to time it so they can get back to the airport for their flight home.
@ Have you seen any other season of this show? An entertaining season is easily worth more to them than making their flight
@ they literally talked countless times throughout the episodes about how Sam might not have time for his second round before their flight home on the 6th day.
Tom comming out of retirement for the next season is the most surprising thing I've seen in a while.
I mean he has already played a small game with Sam
Tom & the Technical Difficulties have been playing/releasing Reverse Trivia vids on that channel for the past few months.
@@tzursoffer6103 I wonder if this is going to be like a UK version of the New Zealand race with Tom as the special guest instead of Toby Hendy but using public transport, it could be mayhem.
It wasn’t a RUclips retirement it was just a retirement of his main channel. He’s still making cameos all around and you can find him on some of his other channels like Lateral or the Technical Difficulties.
I was thinking at the end they should go to the UK next, especially as it public transport is both great and awful at the same time!
Sam: *have a curse that force the seekers to go out of the stations*
Sam: *guets the curse of the jamed door*
Sam: *Discard them for a fiew 10 min bonuses*
That was the most frustrating end game i've seen in a while....
How about you work on your spelling
He totally threw it! Could of been the most historic OP Run!
But instead he fumbled and threw it!
@JohntavionquaviousKoodlebery no one cares
Exactly what I though… so frustrating to end the season on such unsatisfying run……..
For a 10 minute bonus... What a waste...
What a horrible fumble by Sam. He had the most OP card and curse combination, and didn't play them. Just collecting time bonuses that he could have collected later and gained at least 1-2h by playing the Curse of the Jammed Door together with the curse to only ask questions outside of the train station. And vetoing the tallest building question. They would have had such a hard time finding his station in this narrow triangle of multiple train lines.
I hope the next hide and seek either adds some new fresh eager guest player(s) or they find a format where they don't tire out as much as this season.
Still a great season. Thanks for all the fun content.
It's like Sam just gave up. He didn't even make a plan for his move card.
Sam's approach to the game is usually pretty chill, for better or worse.
IM SAYING. Not even that though like bro pulls the door curse and then proceeds to not use it immediately( or ever) even though they were already close to him so if he wanted to maximize its value he should have used it then to get the most amount of train door blocks possible because they weren’t gonna be on trains for that much longer anyways.
and like he didn't even think of using the jammed door curse like man you'd get some mileage out of that at least???
@@fluffyjello Ye, that one could have been huge for delaying them
Considering they also had to exit the train station before asking a question, I definitely don't understand Sam's choices
Absolutely do not understand why Sam didn’t use the veto card for the tallest building question 😵💫
honestly think the only explanation is that he was tired and wanted the game to end 😅 i can't even blame him, but ya a whole lot of his decisions this episode were just unjustifiable if he was really trying to win
I was so confused I just got to this part of the video I was like 😧
HE DID NOT DISCARD THE CURSE AND VETO
came here to comment this, Sam messed up so bad he got us questioning if it was scripted lmao
I literally shouted "YOU IIIIDIOT" at the screen in Ren's voice as if shouting at Stimpy for goofing up.
37:39 That was actually the Mascot for Fukushima Prefecture's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. His name is Bekotaro
I specifically came to the RUclips comment section after watching this episode on nebula for this very important information, thank you
Why didn't Sam play Curse of the Jammed Door right after he drew his next card? They already have to exit a metro station to ask any question due to the other curse, and they'd have to go through a door for each train, so that would've meant they'd need three successful dice rolls to ask and then act on any question. That would've been insanely powerful.
I think Sam has a tendency to overthink and overfocus.
i was thinking the same. they needed to be entering so many stations and trains in the endgame
You don't roll to exit, just to enter, but yeah
Because veto is strong too. However I don't know why he did not cast it later

I feel like Sam really underutilized the veto card this season. Its such a powerful card
He threw so hard
Veto is overrated by viewers lol.
1) You can reask questions.
2) You don't get card pulls for vetoing question
3) If you use it on photo question it's basically a "discard 1, pull 2" card, which is weak.
You can leave it in hope that you can use it on matching or measuring question (tentacles is ideal), but it's still worth probably less than, let's say, a 15 minute bonus.
I feel everyone has underutilised the veto except Bern, cards in general. Adam and Sam seem to both hoard the cards and never actually use them
Veto is trash with their rules because they can just re-ask the question immediately, and vetoing tells them you don't want to answer it so they will just re-ask it immediately.

Gotta be honest, Ben is the only one who actually played the game well. As hider, Adam and Sam messed up with cards, and as seekers they made a bit of blunder by crossing off Ben's hiding station (tbf this one is not their fault, its Google Maps's xD)
I think people forget that all 3 of them are super tired at this point and is not thinking as straight as us after 1 week of watching one eps people 😅
Good point 😅
Yeah honestly you could tell that they were all really tired that day. They still made the absolute best out of it and made it very entertaining but they had far less energy than on day one. Perfectly understandable of course.
yeah but also thats just not fun to watch. let them have a break or something. why produce a game that the players dont wanna play?
That’s not really an excuse thought this is their job they should change the format if they don’t have the energy to give it their full effort.
@@iioo37 yeah i definitely think they couldve had a day break after everyones first turn
Ben and adam switched between so many trains at the end. Curse of the jammed door would've gotten so much value
I love you guys
Bro picked Jammed Door over Drained Brain with an empty hand, skipped a veto for a 10min bonus, and eventually discarded his veto and Jammed Door cards for time bonuses. 35min is good but idk man. I'm not playing the game but from the couch it seems like those are very powerful cards.
That's what I'm saying. Take Drained Brain, play immediately and remove pictures and tentacles and I honestly think Sam would have won.
@@zachknauss1417it doesnt remove catergories, it removes a question from those catergories. Useful but not that useful.
Also you cannot play drained brain without a hand because discarding your hand is part of the casting cost. This means that you need a hand to play the card. Doing so without a hand is cheating
@@muchluck7981 Its not, I can't remember which episode it was but one of them played a discard hand card with an empty hand
@@muchluck7981no you can have an empty hand and discard
@teenagenerd5656 it's episode 1 but the way it's worded, it's implied you must have a card in your hand to pay for the cost. That must be how Sam interpreted it
I feel like when Ben and Adam used the small thermometer in Tokyo, Sam should’ve randomized the question. That way, the seekers would’ve been forced to do a longer thermometer and probably travel for a long distance, even tho they weren’t far away from Sam.
And he should have played the closed doors card for a time bonus
Thank you for spoiling it on day 1

Aaaaaah tom scott! amazing!
looking forward the next one. This one was very enjoyable, keep it up
I don't think I agree with most of Sam's plays. First of all, the fact that he did not start planning out routes when he got the move card, not using the curse of the jammed door OR choosing the curse where you can remove 3 questions. Yes, the cost is to discard your hand, but at the time, his hand was empty. Also, not using the veto was an Adam move. This run could have been so much more difficult for Ben and Adam. But anywayss, he was never going to beat Ben. CONGRATSIES BEN
I felt that if he did play his cards right (keep in mind we don't know what cards he drew for the endgame) he could have extended his time a lot more than he did to definitely take 2nd from Adam. Especially if he took Bird Guide as he was in an park (in an urban area) and it was going to start getting dark in an hour or two it seemed, as he could have gotten luckily enough to find an duck (which is a bird) just sitting around on the water or by the water he would have forced Ben and Adam to do the same but in the dark and much more likely to struggle to get it.
@@PDjargon "He didn't play his card right" actually he just didn't play his cards at all lmao
@@sagelord77 I feel like Sam doesn't have the hunger to win that Ben does and he also is the fastest for lethargy to kick in. I can't remember a specific example but I'm sure there have been times Sam could've gone further at the end but basically gave up. he probably didn't want them to be out in the middle of nowhere all night sitting under a bridge for several hours especially if they were flying home the next day
I guess we now have a thing called "Adams move" 😂
Curse of the jammed door should've been played asap (esp. given that they need to leave transit to ask questions)
Was appaled when he discarded it (41:37) but by then I guess he didn't expect there to be many doors in between themm?
I just realized Ben has been wearing this outfit for 6 days straight

I remember reading an argument somewhere that being the third runner is fair because the third runner would have time to study and observe the other runners.
Not sure how much they discussed their runs off camera, but Sam definitely didn't learn from Adam's run
Considering it was his only chance to win, the distinct lack of planning from Sam was insane. Really felt like he wasn’t bothered with the game anymore because the way he played seemed like he was losing intentionally.
@@Lucio20 If he was losing intentionally he'd have not played the move card.
I think after six days of constant travelling he was tired and unfocussed and made the best out of the situation. Happens that you then forget to use a veto or think something else is a better strategy.
LOL
Awesome series! Some feedback, in my opinion (people are welcome to agree or disagree):
I think Jet Lag works best when it’s a “travel show” turned into a game. That’s how it felt in earlier seasons. More recently, it feels like a “game” that involves travel, which in my opinion is less interesting. That’s mostly to do with the challenges; I like it when the things you have to do in order to get coins, or points, or cards, or whatever are things like “Go visit this waterfall for 10 minutes and compliment it” or “go through this cool museum and take a quiz” or “find the oldest building in this quaint European town” (or the Okaihau Express song lol). To me, that’s the core of the show, with the “game” framed around that to make it competitive and strategic. When all the interactions are just like “now you have to roll the dice 100 times” that’s not as interesting to me.
Credit where credit is due; the team (as demonstrated very well this season) is incredibly good and very entertaining to make me enjoy the show as much as I do even while many of the challenges (or curses, in this case) are not very interesting.
Although I will say, the way this season worked lends itself better to the actual game that they’re selling. So I guess that might have been intentional to ditch the more outlandish challenges-type-things for this season.
Agree on that one. I always thought the games that require someone to earn coins work better than those that work with curses. Curses have to be something to slow someone down which have to be way more general. I get why they do it with the hiding game, because if the seekers had to earn coins to ask questions, then the hider would have nothing to do for the whole run. But I feel that's mostly the case anyway. Which is why I would love if they changed this idea into some sort of Geocaching, where everyone of them hides some "treasure" with hints to the treasure and they all search for someone else's treasure at the same time. And in order to get hints, they need to earn coins. This would allow more localized questions. Though I guess it's harder to sell if it's too localized to the country they are playing it in.
I mean, I think that it's well documented that people have very different opinions on what their favorite part of Jet Lag is. Some prefer the game aspect and tension, some prefer traveling, some the goofy banter between friends... most likely different people attach different values to all those things. They're trying to navigate all of them at the same time. They're well aware of it from what I know. So, probably, they can't please everyone
@@maciejbala477 I totally agree! And perhaps I could have been more explicit about that - I didn’t mean to complain or say I didn’t like the show. Just sharing my opinion and curious to hear other opinions.

Sorry for saying this, but do you even know what the word "irrelevant" means? You're calling comments about how a person misplayed in the video irrelevant / goofy... Those types of comments are as relevant as it gets and it's totally justified too and are all just made in the spirit of discussing about the game... @@Yeotmeogeo Nah, they said on the podcast that they changed the rules so that the last runner's run doesn't end until they're found. So even if the day ended without Sam being found, there would have been part of a day seven.
Sam’s run was so odd, the seekers just seemed to go straight to where he was every time they asked another question.
Ah well, love a Ben win!
I absolutely love this channel, have watched every single one of your videos over the last couple of years! I can’t wait to see what’s next
38:30 If it's distinct, why not veto?! You think they'd get you another way?
the lack of veto was the only move that really had me losing my mind. Gah!
he had thrown away his veto cards for time bonuses
He could have vetoed the tentacles question too so he gets more cards and they still don't get the info
Plus I think it was way too early for him to get time cards rather than other curses... Not sure if there were any birds nearby but I really feel like in the area he was there would have been
That was AFTER. @geographywithplanes
@@RomanNardone You don't get the cards if you veto.
that was a generational fumble holyyyyyyy
What a great season. It looked like sam wasnt trying made a couple of mistakes like not vetoing building question and not using curse of the jammed door which was great all season. 2 great runs from Ben he always deserved that win. Can't wait for season 13 in England! I wonder what it will be hide and seek? Great series looking forward to season 13. Congrats Ben!
It cannot be hide and seek since there's a guest with Ben,but would have been good
@raulbabucha oh yeah. What game do you think it will be?
"WEEEEEEEEEEE" 7:35
"WOOOOOOOOO" 18:10
great wise words.
I want a clip of all of adams weee's and woooo's thru all the seasons.
@@Sjoerd-gk3wr turn it into a song or something
Could've fooled the zoologist challenge for owls
Sam had a lot of opportunities to prolong the run and didn’t use them. Kinda a lot of misplays on his side
I JUST discovered Jet Lag a few weeks ago and was immediately hooked! I have been binging all the seasons and this is the first episode I got to watch on premiere day. So now I'm faced with suddenly having to wait for more episodes 😢 😂. Anyways, keep up the good work guys!
This Jet Lag season has marked a big point in my life. I remember feeling extremely lonely at my college when episode 2 came out, and it helped brighten my day.
When episode 3 came out, I was at a family reunion for Christmas. At that point, my immediate family was preparing for our first trip to Japan. My grandfather was at the family reunion, and he didn’t feel like eating at the feast because of some stomach pains. We wished him well, and I didn’t think much of it.
When episode 4 came out, we were in Japan. It was so cool to see some of the places I had seen in this series. I felt like I had gotten a bit familiar with Japan just by watching the show, which made it easier to adjust. It’s one of my favorite trips I’ve ever gone on.
But back home, there was an emergency. My grandpa’s pain had worsened, and he was now at the hospital. I watched episode 5 before our flight back home. My grandpa got worse then better over the next few days. There was this persistent feeling of dread, but watching episode 6 made it easier.
My grandpa died last Saturday, and we buried him today. He loved to travel all over the world with my grandma, and the thought of him staying in one place now hurts me. Still, I’m thankful to him for giving us the opportunity to go on so many trips and make so many memories. Maybe one day, I’ll go to the places that he and you have visited.
Thank you, Jet Lag, for keeping my mood up in these last few weeks. It hasn’t been easy, but your silly travel show has made it a lot easier.
gosh sorry for your grandpa , he's in a better place now , hope ur okay :)
Dude I feel bad for you but you WILL NOT find consolation in people on the internet
I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a very similar experience this season, when the trailer came out I was so excited to see it and everything was going so well in life. Episode 1 came out the day after my grandmother had a big fall in Germany, a few days before I was traveling home for the holidays. I saw the second episode at my parents house in Germany and found a lot of comfort in it as well as the third episode on the weirdest Christmas of my life. She had been in hospital for a while and ended in the icu, but around the fourth episode she seemed to be stabilizing and I traveled back home to the US. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and Ive had to travel back again last week for her funeral and am now watching the final episode back in the us again. It feels touching to know someone else got comfort from this during a hard time, but I truly am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to celebrate and keep your grandfathers memory close in your heart and can travel to some of his favorite places. ❤
❤❤❤
Sam: “I’m going to give you a snack review”
The review: “Yeah.”
Great season all around!!! Well done Jetlag Team and congrats to Ben!
Looking forward to the UK and Tom Scott! He's a legend.
The amounts of misplays in this season is just amazing. And not even in hindsight but right when they happened.
These cards had so much more potential, even though randomize is pretty much useless how it is right now.
randomize isn't useless, it actually worked well in Ben's run because it forced the use of the same line card when it was useless. But I agree it should be better and actually remove the original question from being asked or something of the sort
@@maciejbala477 Well not useless in general, but pointless when being able to be asked the same question again. The problem is by blocking the original question, the randomize would be too powerful since it basically blocks the question asked, and there almost no insentive to ask the answered question again (at least for photos). IMO randomize should still be able to cross off the question asked, while not crossing off the answered question, but being less common than a veto since it's arguably more powerful (again, at least if handled like that in photos)
@@torbenmayer actually I also had another idea which makes randomize more powerful (and unreliable) but distinct from the veto - have it play a random question but from ANY category. That way, higher chance of giving you random ass questions that are completely useless (e.g. 1/4 mile radar in early game). You can still replay it, but I think the thing with the randomize from Ben's 2nd run worked really well to showcase how good it can be at the right time. I think otherwise, it's just a stronger veto and loses its unique flair, so personally, I like this idea more
Why do I think Sam is going to throw this game?
Edit: yeah he threw the game
It's so sad and anticlimatic end :(
Change the order up for a change & so Sam doesn't go last.
he missed out on th e2 veto cards... this is what cost him the game
I’m glad that Ben wins as he really crushes this season with 2 insane runs but Sam literally threw away any possibility of any comeback by not using his veto question or jammed door card at all.
@@DavidivaD Nah, I don't think playing the vetos or curses would have won him the game but they definitely would have bought him another hour or two.
I'm not ready to say goodbye yet! Forever my favorite show. Thanks for another amazing season
I believe Sam was tired, sure he could have played the veto, but ben and Adam most likely were just going to ask a different photo question or ask the same one for double the cost.
Also, the jammed door curse would have been good to use, but in the end it seemed pointless since there are many trains in urban areas.
Each run was super long and they walked a bunch throughout the 6 days. I believe they just wanted it to be over since they really seemed to lose all of their energy.
Sam could have played better, but give the guy some slack because he is just human.
Honestly, what made me do a double take wasn't the tallest building situation, but that he didn't veto the tentacles. It's 2 extra cards and 4 new uncovered, for free. It works as a way of collecting time bonuses, as well.
That said, I definitely agree that they were tired and just wanted to get it over with. Exhaustion drips from their every word in this episode. Can't blame them, 6 days on the move, most of those in hot weather, all of them requiring being switched on and constant mental work... Yeah, I'd want to be done with it as well.
Exactly, seeing them make mistakes is part of the chaotic entertainment of the show. Also, I know if I was playing the game, I'd definitely fumble some stuff, the decisions they have to make are stressful.
Not taking that birdwatcher Curse was a mistake! Sam was in a park on a lake. Surely, there were ducks somewhere nearby. He could easily film those for 15 mins. And then the others (not currently being near a lake) would struggle to find a bird in the fading light that they could film any length of time.
About 6:40 you are playing the swedish national anthem. Very cool! Hope thats a clue about next hide and seek series
6:30 the Swedish anthem strikes again
OMG so it was not just me xD
I knew it haha
thought so too
I was just about to comment this! Will they be coming to Sweden next? hmm :)
Hahaha I was also gonna comment this!
Is it just me or did Sam completely misplay the whole run? Had the move card from the beginning but never took the first couple hours to make a plan on where to go or how to use it. Didn't use the curse of the door jam when they had to leave the station to ask questions. Didn't keep the veto questions when this is a game of information, or at least use all curses to make it super inconvient to just ask a question.
I just feel like the value of the cards he discarded were way higher than the value of the time cards.
yeah, as you might have noticed, the consensus is that he did probably like 5 different mistakes in the last run lol
Great season! You guys did a great job refining the Hide and Seek format.
The only thing I would still love to see tweaked is the frequency of questions. Seekers taking gambles based on limited information is a joy to watch, both when it succeeds and fails.
Something simple like, 15 minutes between questions and 1 hour between questions in the same category, could achieve that and also make Vetos / Randomizes more fair.
Regardless, loved the show and excited to see Tom Scott join you guys next season!
"That's a really obvious building."
Has a veto card + an option to obtain another veto card*
Sam: throws them away
Really happy to see Tom Scott, missed his channel.
He still runs other video based projects and his newsletter. He actually said in his newsletter he was doing a season of Jetlag so I knew before this episode came out on youtube.
@@nisc2001 Thanks for sharing. I only know Lateral with Tom Scott.
@@RidanDeba He also does stuff on the channel technical difficulties with some other friends of his
Gg ben another great season. I think you really improved the format for this game see you in season in London
Ben, Sam and Adam, thank you for another amazing season! And congratulations to the winner!
Also, THE TOM SCOTT?! I'm sorry everyone, esp Badam fans but I might have to root for Team Sam and Tom next season!
badam will be victorious
Should've used the jammed door one because they couldn't ask questions inside stations and had to walk through atleast 3 to 4 doors everytime they asked a question
Amazing season!!
Cant wait for the next one with Tom!!!
This entire episode is just sam and adam descending into madness and I love it
That's jet lag. Sam and Adam lose their minds while Ben doesn't give a crap and still holds his own
love seeing sam lose despite being so lucky LMAO
congrats ben, you've been best hider for sure, best seeker goes to adam, sam you can have the snack eater title
Yea Sam had good cards. He just wanted a break already.
genuinely watching this season of jetlag has been the only thing keeping me going this winter so thank you guys🙏🏼
Oh noo Sam his shrimp nuggets got snackzonned, he seems to have finally giving up on the battle of chewchewchoo train
I stumbled across jet lag yesterday, I’ve already watched 2 previous seasons and am so glad I only had to wait a day for the Japan finale(this is the season that was recommended to me by RUclips yesterday)
Y’all need to create a game based in Chongqing China! There’s crazy potential for all kinds of games there!
Sam had all the chances in the world here. More optimized use of the move card, playing curse of the jammed door, vetoing any of the useful photo questions towards the end. It's a shame too, because his deck was STACKED. Maybe next time 🤞🏻
I think this could have gone very differently if Sam used his cards better. No veto on some things that led very easily to him, no plan for the move card, no curse of the jammed door as they closed in, but this was still a very cool series to watch as basically my introduction to the channel.
Just over from watching RHAP interview, and yes we saw you we tired, yes Sam could have had an ace curse combo. But I'm not disappointed in the finale, you guys always kill it and I love this series. I just wish I could get you more views and subs!
not me screaming "JUST VETO IT!!" at sam through the screen
I kind of like how this series is like viral videos of the old RUclips. Most people know of it, enjoy it. It’s wholesome and appeals to many demographics
This was such a good series, definitely the best one yet. You guys should try do a manhunt where there is one hider and the seekers are competing against each other to find the hider first.
Ben and Adam are such a vibe :) love jetlag
Why is the 7:00 music literally a goofy instrumental cover of the Swedish national anthem??? 😂😂
I want the lore behind this 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Good ear. I just did a reverse Google song search, and that's exactly what it is. As for why it's in Jet Lag, that's because it's royalty-free music, so they didn't have to pay for it. ruclips.net/video/Qnu2no_mW1k/видео.html
Hear me out: a little clue for the next season of Jet Lag?
@@swiftmoney7283 YES PLEASE!
@@swiftmoney7283that would be amazing (I am swedish)🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
I thought I recognized the melody lmao
I'm really impressed with Adam. After the move card Ben just gave up, but Adam really took over. Props to you man!
I will never understand why Sam didn’t play the jammed door curse when that alone added about 3 hours to Ben’s first run time, which would’ve just won him the game. Pretty sure I’m not alone 🤷♂️
In a dense city like Tokyo, it's not as powerful. The amount of options of travel vs time wasted is very little
I really love the show, so much fun! But honestly Sam's run was frustrating to watch. He always has so many thoughts and ideas or tries something different to outsmart the others. This just felt like he gave up and threw so much good stuff away. Almost as if he wanted it to be over. But I'm really looking forward to the next season, it's truely something amazing you guys create there🤗
I loved this season so much. Super excited to see what the next season is. I really really want another circumnavigating the globe season. Version 2.0 where maybe they have a card deck with curses too or a daily flop
The next season uses more Europe than any other season.
22:58 My absolute joy when I see Ben and Adam use the line that I so frequently use for commuting.
Tom Scott! I'm really looking forward to next season now!
this series has been amazing!!!! what a finale!!! can't wait to see what's next ^o^
(and congrats on releasing the home game!!!!!!)
41:42 you had Urban Explorer on them so they had to go outside to ask a question you could have hit them with jammed door and every time they wanted to ask something they would have to go outside and roll to get back in. why discard jammed door and veto for time bonuses this play makes no sense those were as we have seen 2 of the most powerful cards to use.
