I find it really funny that people who have zero knowledge about League get that Lux (the blond girl) summoned Galio, while most players that reacted to this didnt get it.
Don't worry, its just the majority of people who can't connect dots, and themes. Which is why we have movies and shows that have to hold your hand through the storytelling process.
Players probably thought Lux popped her ult and missed lmfao, I thought it's just a running joke though. It's served as a beacon of light to summon Galio
Rise isn't really a cinematic it's more a music video for the worldsanthem. Worlds is the yearly championship for league of legends. But it's very nice to see y'all react to these cinematics, there are still so much more. Some are more lore oriented others are more to generate hype. Looking forward to see you react to more :)
ok alot of people get this wrong cause they dont read the lore. yes magic is forbidden in demacia but that group she and garen are with knows shes a mage. not all demacians hate mages. kinda why theres a mage civil war going on right now. they dont explain why she holds back but in lore she is shy to use magic for the fear of being found out, even when around people who know. i guess you can say thats why.

@@wyrrencat if i remember she has mixed feelings there. she befriended him but he also used and betrayed her but she kinda gets it cause of what happened but he is also fighting Demacia but she kinda wants that too cause of whats going on. so it really is up to the writer cause they gave her so many angles to us. the problem here is they never clarify here so i do think its really up to us. unless they have a story for this, this is my best guess.
I completely understand being upset that Lux (blondie) waited that long, but there is a reason. Demacia (where they are and where she is from) is pretty anti-magic. Think Heimendinger times 100000. Sylas (the dude with the chains) was imprisoned for being a mage. Lux being from a high house had to hide the fact that she was a mage, she waited I think because she was scared of being found out. But she had to save her brother and her people, so she took the risk of being persecuted.

@@astravisionstudiosTeam Jinx too because in lore and in game Vi is corupted cop and such a "b*tch" i don't like her. Silco and Vander are the some paralera to Powder and Vi. One was mind and Second was strength. They have a confrict. The power one attack/nearly killed the weaker one. And then the weacker one have mental breakdowm and use his mind to be better and powerfull. Silco tried to protect Jinx from Vi Silco know what he was doing becouse the some thing has happend him physic and mentality. And when you re-watch scene when he took Jinx on some place where Vander almost killed him. And them you can see that she was mentality better, she did make a weapon and then after Sevica tell her about VI. You can see in that moment mindset change/reset back. -------- Silco loved Jinx and tried to protect her. He knew about her mental illness and what triggers it. When Jinx remembers her family she has ptsd. And he realy cares for her. When Jinx kills the firelights and ruin his work Silco blames and yells Shevika but with Jinx he tells her calmly that she was wrong. When Jinx kills the enforcers Silco is angry but he wasnt going to hurt her. And Jinx didnt afraid him. He wanted to impess him. -------- As with crystal when Jinx tried to creat the weapon she had ptsd of her dead family. After the scene in the river when Silco told her to get over the past it worked. --------- Jinx continued to make the gun without any problems. All was fine unltil Vi came. When Jinx saw Vi she remembered what she did. Vi didnt know about her traumaand or how to handle it. Vi wants the best for her and keep her safe but she hurts her. I dont blame Vi. She thinks Silco is a monster and he manipulates her in his favor and she has every right to believes. Vi only know that Silco kidnapped Vander and caused his death. And that we can see it clear in the final scene. Silco gave up everything he wanted to protect Jinx. And he didnt get mad when she kidnapped him because he understand how she feels. Vi tries to make Jinx remember but she only make things worse. Silco sees jinx suffering and tries to help her by shooting Vi witch leading to his death. I dont say Silco was right and Vi was wrong the one. And thats the good with Arcane. There are not black and white. Silco tried to kill 4 children to avenge Vander and done many evil things. Also he feared that Jinx would abadon him and thats why he told her some lies. But in the end Silco wasn't the clice villain. He was a complex character with issues and weakness. And Vi wasn't evil or totally wrong. Ηer intentions were good but in the end she would make things worse because she doesn't know the real Jinx.

In the first video, The girl who summoned a statue is Lux. They are from city that has banned mages, and lux is a mage. That's why she waited to use her "illegal" powers. The big dude with sword is her brother, Garen. And the "villain" in that video is a rebel mage called Sylas. The statue is also a champion in League, he's Galio.
@@astravisionstudios they kinda have that right. mages are hated in Demacia but not all Demacians hate mages. the group her and her brother garen are in know and are fine with it. there is a mage civil war going on in Demacia right now in the lore. oh and the guy they are fighting is a mage from Demacia that was being tortured and Lux was the one who set him free. as you see he has beef with Demacia.
FYI, I am keeping my synopsis brief as I can. I could include each character's backstory and background, but it would be too long. Warriors Lore It consists of three different stories. The opening story is the land of Demacia which highlights 4 champions, Garen, Lux, Galio and Sylas. Garen is the big soldier & top general of the demacian army, Lux is the lady with the magic wand and Galio is the statue that arrives at the end. The people attacking are led by Sylas who used to be a demacian, but was exiled and enslaved by the nation because he saved two kids who were being hunted by Demancian mageseekers, thus also revealing he had magic powers himself. Sylas magic allows him to steal powers of other champs in-game, which is why you see a yellow sword animate after he knocks back Garen. Sylas does not like demacia and wants to tear down everything it represents. The land of Demacia does not like magic and forbids it. They are deemed a noble and righteous nation, but truly hate magic and magic users. Though some can do so because of their notability and family ties, they are allowed not to be persecuted aka Lux is an example. Galio is basically a huge statue that represents the nation of Demacia and can be activated in two ways, one is he will animate and come alive if he detects any magic users nearby or if he is called upon (also demacia and noxus are bitter rivals as nations). The second story I will just go over but opens up with some henchman walking up towards a person called Urgot. This story includes, as you know, Caitlyn, Vi, and Urgot. You already know Caitlyn and Vi, but Urgot is new obviously. Urgot used to be a high end - executioner (meaning high nobility) for the land of Noxus (referenced in Arcane by Mels mother). Noxus as a nation can be slightly hard to explain. Overall they are viewed as an evil, expansionist nation that likes war. But internally they just value strength above all else. Ironically and not to retcon the show, they offer any many new nations they conquer a chance to join the nation of Noxus from lowest citizen to highest official. If you can do something and you have the willpower to show your value, you will do well. In short they are a meritocracy which values individuals abilities, strength and talents vs wealth, social class or race. One its highest generals - Darius, started out in the slums in Noxus with his brother Draven and they worked their way up to the highest rank of the army. In short, if you are weak, you will not survive in Noxian society. Back to Urgot He was tricked by Swain who wanted to become a general of the Noxus, and Swain sent Urgot to Piltover/Zaun to hunt down a traitor of Noxus. Urgot didn't realize he was set up, so he was captured and sent to the mines of Zaun where his body was worn and torn. Eventually Urgot realized the mines made him stronger and considered parts of his body weak so he mechanically altered himself over time. He eventually became a warrior of the chembarons of Zaun, but Piltover locked him up which is why the henchmen are trying to release him. The last story includes Ezreal and Kai’sa. To keep it short, Ezreal is just a person who likes to travel the land and find old relics. He is attacked by Voidlings which are from “The Void.” and he is saved by Kai’sa. Kai’sa is from one of the most ancient lands of Runeterra called “Shurima. LONG ago, a majority of the land was literally sucked up by “The Void” and Kai’sa village went under. Kai’sa only survived because she decided to go deeper into the void and eventually a piece of the void combined with her skin and transformed her; it gave her abilities and after escaping from the Void, she has vowed to defend all of Runeterra from any future Void events. (In league of legends lore, there are a few world ending events that can happen and “The Void” is one of them. Only way to defeat it would be that all of Runeterra would have to come together to fight the Void.) Awake Lore Again consist of three stories. The opening story takes place in the nation of Piltover at a theater. It includes two champions called Jhin and Camille. Jhin basically is a serial killer who gets thrilled off killing people. He is being hunted by Camille who is a leader of Piltover police. She has altered her body with hextech as she wants to be superior to others, more specifically to catch stronger and more bad people who could be stronger than her if she didn’t have the hextech.The second story takes place in a colosseum in the land of Noxus. The two champions here would be Draven and Riven. Draven, as mentioned above, worked his way up along with his brother Darius to high ranks in the Noxian military. He is enjoying a fight and the lady who pops up is Riven, she used to be Noxian but she witnessed a biochemical terror attack that killed many Ionians and Noxians alike. She went on self-imposed exile to seek atonement and find a way to serve her vision of the Pure Noxian spirit but the nation accused her of deserting thus she was a fugitive until captured. The last story takes place in an area called Ionia. In a way, think of a more tranquil part of the land, Japanese aesthetics. A lot more focus on pursuit of balance in things, from the material and spirit world and a lot more lush mountains, forest and waters. They are under assault from a Noxian attack. This story includes 7 champions, Ireliea lady with the flying swords, Karama who uses the shields, Akali that uses the smoke bomb, Yasuo who uses the sword and causes the tornado, & Kennen who has electricity powers. They are under attack by the Big giant called Sion who is a Noxus general. A New dawn lore Not much backstory, it's just a cool cinematic to kind of highlight the ACTUAL game, just from a cinematic perspective. Because the actual league of legends takes place on one map, two teams of 5 players, so 5v5 and your goal is to get to the other team's base and destroy it. Now they don’t include the base, but just champions fighting. The opening includes Leona who has the shield and Ahri, fox lady. They are being chased by Darius and Draven.The lady with the vines is Zyra.Ahri is then rescued by her team that includes Graves with the shotgun, Rengar who is the lion, and Jax who wields the staff. The lady jumping on the trees is Katarina who is also from Noxus. The big sea dude is called Nautilus who is from the region of Bilgewater(so is Graves). I won’t get into their backstories or powers, but just cool cinematic for the game and those who play it. A Twist of Fate Kind of the same as above. It opens up with a champion called Twist Fate, he uses magic with cards. He is attacked by Fiddlesticks who is a scarecrow. The next story includes the blue guy called Ryze and he’s being chased by Nocturne. Ryze basically goes throughout the land to collect items of immense power, but not to use it, but to prevent bad people from abusing the items. Nocturne really is just an assassin that lives in the dark and can use the dark to enhance his powers. Next clip includes Garen and Katarina fighting. He runs into tryndamere who is a barbarian king who comes from the nation of freljord. The reason he doesn’t die after being stabbed is that his ultimate allows him to not die for a certain amount of time so he is temporarily invulnerable. The girl with the Bear is Annie who has magic abilities that allow her to use fire and animate her teddy bear which is called Tibbers. And the very last big dragon thing is called “The Baron.” It just teases/highlights the extra bonus teams can fight for in the middle of the game. Usually takes either team of 5 to defeat the baron but whichever team gets the baron, gets bonus temporary stats for about 3-5 minutes in game. In case you didn’t know again, this is 5v5, it has a top down view so there’s 3 lanes. Top lane, middle lane, bottom lane and jungle in the middle. The top lane is usually 1v1, so is the middle lane, and bottom lane is 2v2 with jungler on each side. There’s different classes such as tanks who just build defensive items and health, fighters who can do a little more damage but don’t focus purely defensive, mages who can focus on magic power, supports who can focus on healing, shields, movement, or just tanking, and assassin who sole focus is to kill the squishies which usually are the adc(attack damage carries.) they build no health or defensive items, just damage. The first 1-20 minutes of the game consist of each person staying in their lanes each lane as 2 phases of turrets to get to the base and the jungler travels across the map helping each lane. After about 20-25 minutes the map opens up as the teams then typically travel together as they try to finish the match, get enemies base and destroy their crystal, and try to get extra bonuses such as baron and dragons along the way. Sorry if that’s nerdy, but hopefully adds extra context to the actual game of league of legends. Also league has over 174 champions now that each have their own backstories and lore and could be their own protagonist. Arcane included 9 total from the game which were Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce, Viktor, Ekko, Singed and two more that I can't include for spoiler reasons but league fans know who they are.

Warhammer is probably the only fiction writers who has Riots writers beat. And not necessarily cuz theyre better but becuse theyve been doing it for alomst half a century, *_at that level,_* which is friggin unreal. That said, Arcane is ine of the THE best pieces of media ever made. The league lore is absolutely insane.
What I love most about these cinematics is that pretty much everything the champs do in them, are based off of what they do in game, like the way they fight in these are just basically their abilities in game.
Cause Rise is more of a love letter to the team who won the competition and those who closely follow E-Sports. They're not the target audience for that one and it's okay. One thing for sure tho is that music slaps.

I hope you guys react to Legends of Runeterra cinematics to know what are the other regions around Arcane besides Piltover (topside) and Zaun (undercity) and to know more about the characters in every region. There is dialogue in all these cinematics.

This will be a brief rundown of all the cinematics. I'm not going to try to go through every detail here. 2:34 Warriors -The Ice bridge is on the border of the Demacia domain, where the girl (Lux) and the guy (garen) are from. Someone mentioned it and nailed it, they are brother and sister. The man with the chains is Sylas. Previously part of demacia but was imprisoned because he was a mage (there's a lot of backstory here). Basically, demacia hates mages and either imprisons them, kills them, or makes them hunt other mages. Check out Magic is Rising: Stand With Sylas short cinematic for more info on him -The dessert place is in Shurima. Its basically ancient Egypt but in Runeterra. The guy (Ezreal) is basically Indiana Jones. The girl (Kai'sa) is unfortunate enough to have combined with the Void and is constantly fighting it, which is the purple bug things they were fighting -Then we obviously have Zaun, where we see Caitlyn and Vi. The man imprisoned there is Urgot, an outcast from Noxus who was betrayed by his own leadership and swears vengeance, regardless of who he has to go through to get it. 7:01 Awaken -The Theater is actually in Zaun as well. Playing the piano we have Jhin the Virtuoso, a serial killer who believes murder is art (which is why when people are being destroyed by his mines, you see pretty purple dust). The woman who comes in is Camille. She "works with" the enforcers. In reality, she's the main weapon of one of the major crime families in Piltover and her backstory is quite interesting -The Arena is in Noxus, a domain that is typically displayed as the bad guys as they conquer everywhere they go. The general rule in Noxus is you're either strong or you die. The man watching the Arena is Draven. He's a great warrior and a well-known arena fighter in Noxus. The woman is Riven. She was captured by Noxus, held prisoner, and forced to fight in the Arena. She ends up joining Noxus' ranks. -The giant war took place in Ionia, a spiritually focused place with demons, samurai, and other things. For a very basic description, think Samurai Jack and Naruto. The woman introduced at the beginning is Irelia, a leader of Ionia. The approaching army is that of Noxus. The giant man she faces is Sion. He's essentially undead and everytime he's beaten he just comes back. Then we introduce Karma, Akali, Kennen, and Yasuo. All of these hold significant roles in Ionia. 12:00 Rise -This was the anthem for Worlds that year. Each person depicted is a player in pro league. They also all used the weapons and skills of one of their signature characters in this video. 16:15 A New Dawn -This Cinematic doesn't actually take place in a specific region. As one of their earliest cinematics, they weren't super focused on building their world at this time. This video is more of a depiction of a league of legends match, which is why its 5v5. The characters in the match are Leona (big shield), Ahri (Fox girl), Rengar (Cat man), Graves (shotgun dude), Jax (Polearm fighter), Katarina (Red head assassin), Darius (Big Axe), Draven (swinging axes), Zyra (Plant lady), and Nautilus (Giant diver suit) 24:07 Twist of Fate -The first part with the crows is in Demacia. We know this because Fiddlesticks, the scarecrow, is found in the outskirts of Demacia. The man with the cards is Twisted Fate. He's typically in Bilgewater, a sort of Pirate's Cove in Runeterra -The battle in the darkness is between Ryze (The blue guy) who is arguably the main character of League lore, and Nocturne, a demon born from the darkness itself. -The next battle is between Garen and Katarina, who we've already seen in other cinematics. Then Tryndamere, the barbarian king and the man too angry to die joins the fight. Next we have Annie, a girl with a demon-possessed teddy bear (Who has an AMAZING cinematic called Annie: Origins), and finally we have Baron Nashor who is a boss on the map in League.
Hey guys! I recommend watching the Arcane: Bridging the Rift mini series, its a behind the scenes on how Arcane came to be, since the initial concept to the people behind the making of the show. It's really a good watch and its a great chance to watch some of the best people in the industry work on their art.
I need to explain a new dawn, this video is when u take live game play and put it a cin amatic form. 5 players vs 5 players using their ultimate and passive powers. That area is called jungle region.. difficult to fight in . When a charater died it's like live play...😊
In the warriors cinematic, y’all said something about y she waited so long. She waited so long because mages in the country she is from get arrested, as the country has banned magic. She is the sister of the big guy and basically the princess. The people who were attacking were the mages that were imprisoned, with their leader being the guy who had the chains (he also taught the girl magic). She waited so long because she didn’t want to go to jail and have her brother hate her.
All of the characters in everthing Riot releases are playable in either League of Legends or Legends of RuneTerra a Magic style card game online there are cinematics for both. These cinematics are either a video to kick off the new season, for a champion release, for a new skinline, for an upcoming in game event, for pro league championships, music videos, or in the case if annie and amumu back story videos. They are all of the Highest caliber.
Ok so I know im a little late to this response but here LEAGUE LORE TIME! So in the first cinematic you saw Garen, Lux, Sylas and Galio (the knights with the magic girl) They are from Demacia. Their whole thing is about keeping the peace but they refuse to acknowledge the use of magic, they think magic is too dangerous as heimerdinger has said in arcane. During the next scene we saw of course Vi, Cait, and Urgot (Not the scientist BTW, The scientist is a different character) They are from the same area as the show. Known as the regions of Zaun being where Vi / Jinx were from. Then Piltover the Upper part of the city where Jayce and Cait are from. Next the scene with Kai'sa and Ezreal, they are fighting what is called the void and the void is the "main bad guy" of the league universe. The void has its own agenda to take over and destroy worlds and Runeterra is just currently the one of many it is inhabiting. Going into the second cinematic we have Jhin ( MUSIC MAN ) and Camille ( AOT LADY ). Jhin is from the same region as all the fight that happened in that open farmland scene later in the cinematic, that, region is known as Ionia. Camille is from the same place as seen in the show Piltover. The girl with the sword fighting the guy with the two swinging axes was Riven ( the girl) and Draven. Draven is from a place called Noxus where in the show Mel ( Counsel Lady that helped Jayce get onto the counsel) her mother was from Noxus. Noxus is a place like Zaun where crime basically is everywhere and nobody bats an eye, just no shimmer here that is why everyone here is some what not insane. The only Regions I havent really covered yet are Mount Targon which is defined as "the mightiest peak in Runeterra, a towering peak of sun-baked rock amid a range of summits unmatched in scale anywhere else in the world". We then have the Freljord which is the frozen tundra. The native people of this area are mainly dressed in fur and have "Ice-like Powers" and Finally Bilgewater! Bilgewater is mainly the pirates of the game. I hope yall see this for the lore drop and to help yall understand the next season of arcane better!
10:30 That "avengers" analogy is actually what is probably going to happen, since arcane season 2 ends de Piltover/Zaun "Saga". Next shows will introduce more regions and characters who, I believe, will end up mixed into the same plot somehow
The game of LoL has nothing at all to do with the lore anymore. That was retconned a long time ago. These videos are just yearly hype videos. I really love all the speculation, but unfortunately there will never be an avengers style get together that mimics the game. There are some big events though ie "the ruination" that have champion team ups. Also in Warriors, the chain male character Sylas stole the others ability's, and thats where his light sword came from. Magic is illegal and highly frowned upon there in Demacia. Which is why when the girl who picked up the wand (lux), used it for magic, it was a huge deal. She is in the royal court and just outed herself as a mage.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but the blonde girl from the first one (Lucks) apparently was holding off using her power because where she and her army are from, they are VERY prejudiced against mages. So it was a case of saving Garen (her brother, who presumably wanted to keep her powers secret too), or not blowing her cover. That is what I have been told, at least! :D

Yes you are correct, Lux and her brother are from Demacia and sshe had to give in, she summoned Galio for protection (Galio is one of the statues they make to absorb magic and keep them safe, and eventually with the magic they come alive) before finish them with her ultimate ability. And Lux is right to be mad, the person leading the attack is Sylas, he was jailed since young for being a mage and Lux actually befriended him as a mage herself, he then proceeded to use her kindness against her and steals some of her powers to set himself free and then fight against demacia. Its great to see youre still invested in the league universe my friend!!
Lot of the characters are modeled after what we know in culture. Like The Predator (Rengar), TMNT (Jax), Gambit from Marvel (Twisted Fate); so if it seems to mimic, it more than likely is inspired.
To help you out 5:36 the thing going on with Lux and Garen is there's a civil war in Demacia between Pro Mages and Anti-Mages, Lux is a Mage but their Relatives (Auntie) is a higher up in the anti mage faction so they've been hiding it ever since, hence she hid it up until Garen almost died. That dude with the chains is Sylas and copies things with Magic so that is a magic sword Also, there's different kinds of cinematics A cinematic for the Game that either teases a champion & promotes a skin/skin line or how the game actually works(A New Dawn) There is also a cinematic for lore which expands world building and actual cannon events, these are things that took place in the same World as Arcane (Warriors, Awaken, Still Here) There are esport cinematics and anthems which are also MVs. (Rise)

RISE is my favorite it means so much as a player, the climb or aspiration to climb the mountain and be the best. That video will always be the most hype to me and plus the song goes hard especially at the gym.
for the question why the girl (Lux) in warriors waited to use her magic is because the Region is "Demacia" and they are very strict anti Magic. (even the stone the city is build from also absorbs magic power so THAT kind of Anti Magic) That is also why The guy with the chains (Sylas) is attacking them. He was a mage that was imprisioned in Demacia (he also managed to break free because he betrayed Lux who had sympathy for him by stealing/absorbing some of her magic to escape)
The squad at 10:15 was 5 playable characters from a region called Ionia in Runeterra (just like the ones we know in Arcane). The theme of the region is Japan-ish with ninjas, samurai and stuff. Super cool if they were to make a setting for a series there
RISE was a homage to the Worlds Tournament each year. those were all players animated into the game. theres stories behind each of the fight scenes. the main guy you follow to the top was a Veteran star player that managed to topple the defending champions who had just won back to back tournaments. and yes most of the players are Chinese/korean. they have the best teams and players. Western Teams sadly get their shit rocked in international league tournaments the East is just built different when it comes to league of legends. the last guy he fought in the red jacket at the end is Faker. who just won gamer of the year has won the worlds tournament 4 times and is a 11 year veteran of this 14 year old game. Faker is considered the greatest player of all time UNANIMOUSLY in fact its so unanimous that he was just inducted into League's brand new Hall of Legends (like a hall of fam) as their first Inductee. his story and ability in the game is inhuman and incredible to watch. he has reaction times that are only matched by computers.

Basically, how I always understood the premise of League of Legends is; that legendary figures of Runeterra are summoned to an other-dimensional arena to fight battles for our amusement. Or something to that effect. Last I played LoL they had around 120 playable characters, called Champions, but as far as I remember they used to release new ones every few months so I am sure there must be close to 200 different Champions by now. The above is also the reason you shouldn't assume that a character isn't important or "not a main character" just because they die in a cinematic, most characters that don't have basic armor on and are not just in the background are playable characters of League of Legends. Additionally, if you see groups of 5 battle each other in these trailers, like in 'A New Dawn', don't assume the characters are actually allied in the world of Runeterra. Speaking of 'A New Dawn' that trailer actually represent how the game is played in a very dramaticized way: 2 teams of 5 players each choose one Champion to play from any of the aforementioned few hundred playable characters and then try to destroy each others base. The reason the characters died in the trailer, even though all of them were "main" characters, is that in the actual game you don't have just 1 life per match, but respawn infinitely until the match is over. As for the 'Rise' cinematic: That was indeed a trailer not for the game itself, but for the World Championship of League of Legends. Instead of the games Champions, the trailer showed famous/strong players from the previous Worlds. Interesting to note is that each player in the cinematic used the weapons of Champions they used in said previous Worlds. Last but not least; You guys talked about learning more about the world of Runeterra. Not long after Arcane released, the RUclipsr Necrit published a 50minute long video called "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done" explaining the regions, factions, people of note and a small bit of history of the world and it was fairly popular to react to amongst both MMO players as well as new fans of Arcane and League of Legends, so Recommend watching that, or maybe even reacting to it.

Hi, you asked about the lore and background for the characters... You don't get almost nothing for playing the game, there is dedicated oficial website that has all the lore and stories about the champions (characters) and the world of Runeterra. Also there are some books and novels as well.
This isn’t saying it as bashing arcane, but once you join the league rabbit hole you start to notice that the Arcane story is by far the tamest one compared to the gods and the magic weirdest around the world. It’s such a blast seeing people notice just how vast the league world really is.

Warriors: - You have in Demacia - the anti-mage region - Garen (got it right, big brother) and his Sister Lux, which is, as her name implies, a mage using light. They are fighting against Sylas (guy with the chains), which was imprisoned basically his whole year for the crime of being born a mage and then broke out and started a revolution. The sword he conjured is an ability of Garen, as Sylas is able to steal the "ultimate abilities" of his enemies. At the end, the big winged stone statue is Galio. He is made of the Anti-Magic matieral Demacia is known for, and has absorbed so much magic, he came to live. - In Noxus - a region who tries to conquer and absorb every other country, is led by 3 leaders. One of them (the one looking like WaLuigi RTX ON) is Draven. The white haired woman in the Pit is Riven. She wields a Runeforged sword. Runes allow weapons to get certain properties, such as unbreakable, super big but light, thins like that. - Third region is not sure, but should be Shurima (Egyptian inspired desert region with a bit of jungle). The indiana jones like guy is Ezreal who likes to tomb raid. He doesn't even know that his bracelet is part of a set of an ancient powerful relic. The little crawly thingies are little voidlings attacking him and gets saves by Kai'Sa. Originally a human who made the void part of her own in order to fight against the void (the void is basically the ultimate thing that threatens to destroy not only the world, but reality. Awaken: - As you might have guess, in Piltover there is Caitlyn and Vi, and they eventually end up fighting against Urgot (it's not Singed) - In Piltover you have the blade-legged lady Called Camille who is reponsible for the safety of the city and Jhin, a Massmuderer (for hire) originally from Ionia. He treats killing as art. [You will mostlikely watch his cinematic too later] - In Ionia (eastern type country) the blue haired blade Dancer is Irelia. Noxus is invading them so they try to fight them off. Her allies are Yasuo the Samurai who uses wind (who made the tornado) Kennen, a Yordle (a race of being that consist of pure magic) who uses the electric storm attack, Akali the green clothes Ninja and Karma, the Spirit of Ionia itself. (In Ionia everything is alive, so it is known that a river decided to wash away the invading noxians) On the Noxian side, the only champion there is SION, the big buff dude with the red glowing upper body. He used to be a very good warrior and eventually died. so they decided to reanimate him with hemomancy (blood magic). Rise: As you might have guessed, this is a Worlds Anthem Cinematic. It depics the climb in Rankings and tournament, defeating the current champion but the next ones are already coming. Usually in worlds cinematics, players are depicted with iconic weapons or gear of their repsective most played or favorit or otherwise iconic champion. A new Dawn: This Cinematic does not play in RUneterra (the world of lol), but it depics a match, aka the game. The Map in lol has 3 lanes (roads) and the rest of it is jungle (bushes and tress) and a river, and a base for each team. So this cinematic plays in the jungle. In one team you get 2 of the leaders of Noxus: The older brother Darius (Axe) and the Younger Brother Draven, The red haired Assasin Katarina also from Noxus (and future girlfriend of Garen), the one with the Shotgun is Graves, usually roaming around Bildgewater (pirate-y area) and the Boyfriend of Twisted Fate. The Plantlady is Zyra, she was originally a Human. The other Team is Leona (the golden Tank) who is the Aspect of the Sun (something like a human who ascended to be a deity), then there is Ahri the white fox Vastaya (Vastaya is a race which is half human and half spiritual animal, there a ton of different clans, depending on what kind of animals the humans originally mated with......), Rengar the Lion Assassin with the cloaking ability is also a Vastaya. The Honji-Monk-Like guy in purple and the not-weapon he uses as a weapon, he is Jax from Ixtal, a neighbor region of Shurima which got devoured by the void. And the big guy with the Anchor is Nautilus. He is from Bilgewater and originally died in the water and is - loosely put, something like a haunting ghost. A Twist of Fate: Twisted Fate a mage using card, Boyfriend of Graves, also roams around Bildgewater usually. He is fighting against Fiddlesticks. The scarecrow isn't actually his body, but it's a little ball that is him, a demon - more specifically the Priomodial Fear. You prolly will be watching his rework (adjusted look) cinematic later. Next you can see the poster Boy Ryze. He is a Human mage, who is basically collecting the "infinity stones". Runes with such powerful magic, they should not be used. Runeterra got it's name from them (Rune -> Magic, Terra -> Earth). He is chased by "THE DARKNESS" that is Nocturne, like Fiddlestick he is a Demon, the Primordial true Darkness. After that, you see the future lovers Katarina from Noxus and Garen from Demacia fight, before eventually Tryndamere (from Feljord, the nordish, snowy region) butts in. (You may encounter him again in the newest 2024 cinematic if that is on the list). Before he get's to off Garen, he gets blown away by a fireball. The little girl is a born fire mage called Annie. Her Teddy is called Tibbers. The worm monster is a gameboss call Baron Nashor and is a creature created in the image of the Starforging cosmic dragon Aurelion Sol. Some corrections: -Sylas was imprisoned for many (15 I think?) years since he was a child. -Noxus was in "Awaken", not "Warriors". -Draven is not one of Noxus' leaders. It's his brother Darius (the guy who dies last in "A New Dawn"). Draven is just the king of the gladiator sport (not actual royalty, just a title). I think he's referred to as the king of the colosseum but I can't remember. -Piltover was also in "Warriors" where Caitlyn, Urgot, & Vi were. -Irelia has black hair, not blue. -Again, Draven is not a real leader. He's just in charge of the gladiator battles. He's basically a celebrity that can fight real good. -It's spelled "Bilgewater". This one's not a big deal so it's alright. -You forgot to mention this: Nocturne is a demon of nightmares. -It's "Nordic", not "nordish". -Another thing you forgot to mention: Tryndamere here is not in his original base design. This is a skin. Don't know what it's called though. -Baron is not created in Aurelion Sol's image. That was something else. Baron is just one of the enemies on the map you can farm for.. idk, mana? Ps Frerjord parts from these cinematics are happening in present time as Riot Forge Song of Nunu. If you didn't want to play League of Legends on PC. Then you could play League of legends wild rift on mobile its better. Card game Legends of Runeterra where you have even voice lines. Most of these were for the seasobs start to hype the players. Thats why some of them have more of song you can sing along than a score. The champion cinematics are different.
With New dawn, this is cinematic of actually game play, they are on summoner's Rift in the jungle. All 10 characters are Champions in the game, their deaths aren't "cannon"
these videos are made for different reasons. some are start of season. Rise for example is a worlds. and the characters in that video are actual players

With how many characters there are they could absolutly find ways to make an MCU type universe if they wanna go that way but i dont think it would work aswell as ppl may think. The League characters lore power scailing gets out of control really quickly, especially when u start to get into the magic users. Even some of the weaker magic users just blow most of the none magic users out of the water. The characters that we have seen in the Arcane show are all probadly in the weakest 15% range. Except for Heimerdinger he is way above the rest of the characters in the show. Jinx is actually 1 of if not the weakest League character of all 160+ from a lore perspective.

ok most people dont know this but the game and the world are separate. at one time they were together but as of now the game is not in the world of runterra. and if you want a base level understanding or lore of runeterra watch necrit's video "the world of riot's mmo is already done". it does a small touch in each area.

12:53 the OG League of Legends lore is that mages/wizards almost destroyed the planet Runeterra at large, so all the factions agreed to limit using their biggest magic people, or "champions", to instead have them fight in a designated place, the League of Legends/Summoner's Rift, to kinda prevent Armageddon from happening again Edit: the characters/champions get "summoned" into the summoner's rift and magically don't die for real, hence why some of these characters arent scared when "dying."

Rise isn't really a cinematic it's more a music video for the worldsanthem. Worlds is the yearly championship for league of legends. I completely understand being upset that Lux (blondie) waited that long, but there is a reason. Demacia (where they are and where she is from) is pretty anti-magic. Think Heimendinger times 100000. Sylas (the dude with the chains) was imprisoned for being a mage. Lux being from a high house had to hide the fact that she was a mage, she waited I think because she was scared of being found out. But she had to save her brother and her people, so she took the risk of being persecuted.

One was mind and Second was strength. They have a confrict. The power one attack/nearly killed the weaker one. And then the weacker one have mental breakdowm and use his mind to be better and powerfull. Silco tried to protect Jinx from Vi Silco know what he was doing becouse the some thing has happend him physic and mentality. And when you re-watch scene when he took Jinx on some place where Vander almost killed him. And them you can see that she was mentality better, she did make a weapon and then after Sevica tell her about VI. You can see in that moment mindset change/reset back. -------- Silco loved Jinx and tried to protect her. He knew about her mental illness and what triggers it. When Jinx remembers her family she has ptsd. And he realy cares for her. When Jinx kills the firelights and ruin his work Silco blames and yells Shevika but with Jinx he tells her calmly that she was wrong. When Jinx kills the enforcers Silco is angry but he wasnt going to hurt her. And Jinx didnt afraid him. He wanted to impess him. -------- As with crystal when Jinx tried to creat the weapon she had ptsd of her dead family. After the scene in the river when Silco told her to get over the past it worked. --------- Jinx continued to make the gun without any problems. All was fine unltil Vi came. When Jinx saw Vi she remembered what she did. Vi didnt know about her traumaand or how to handle it. Vi wants the best for her and keep her safe but she hurts her. I dont blame Vi. She thinks Silco is a monster and he manipulates her in his favor and she has every right to believes. Vi only know that Silco kidnapped Vander and caused his death. And that we can see it clear in the final scene. Silco gave up everything he wanted to protect Jinx. And he didnt get mad when she kidnapped him because he understand how she feels. Vi tries to make Jinx remember but she only make things worse. Silco sees jinx suffering and tries to help her by shooting Vi witch leading to his death. I dont say Silco was right and Vi was wrong the one. And thats the good with Arcane. There are not black and white. Silco tried to kill 4 children to avenge Vander and done many evil things. Also he feared that Jinx would abadon him and thats why he told her some lies. But in the end Silco wasn't the clice villain. He was a complex character with issues and weakness. And Vi wasn't evil or totally wrong. Ηer intentions were good but in the end she would make things worse because she doesn't know the real Jinx.

In the first video, The girl who summoned a statue is Lux. They are from city that has banned mages, and lux is a mage. That's why she waited to use her "illegal" powers. The big dude with sword is her brother, Garen. And the "villain" in that video is a rebel mage called Sylas. The statue is also a champion in League, he's Galio.

@@astravisionstudios they kinda have that right. mages are hated in Demacia but not all Demacians hate mages. the group her and her brother garen are in know and are fine with it. there is a mage civil war going on in Demacia right now in the lore. oh and the guy they are fighting is a mage from Demacia that was being tortured and Lux was the one who set him free. as you see he has beef with Demacia.
FYI, I am keeping my synopsis brief as I can. I could include each character's backstory and background, but it would be too long.
Warriors Lore
It consists of three different stories. The opening story is the land of Demacia which highlights 4 champions, Garen, Lux, Galio and Sylas. Garen is the big soldier & top general of the demacian army, Lux is the lady with the magic wand and Galio is the statue that arrives at the end. The people attacking are led by Sylas who used to be a demacian, but was exiled and enslaved by the nation because he saved two kids who were being hunted by Demancian mageseekers, thus also revealing he had magic powers himself. Sylas magic allows him to steal powers of other champs in-game, which is why you see a yellow sword animate after he knocks back Garen. Sylas does not like demacia and wants to tear down everything it represents. The land of Demacia does not like magic and forbids it. They are deemed a noble and righteous nation, but truly hate magic and magic users. Though some can do so because of their notability and family ties, they are allowed not to be persecuted aka Lux is an example. Galio is basically a huge statue that represents the nation of Demacia and can be activated in two ways, one is he will animate and come alive if he detects any magic users nearby or if he is called upon (also demacia and noxus are bitter rivals as nations). The second story I will just go over but opens up with some henchman walking up towards a person called Urgot. This story includes, as you know, Caitlyn, Vi, and Urgot. You already know Caitlyn and Vi, but Urgot is new obviously. Urgot used to be a high end - executioner (meaning high nobility) for the land of Noxus (referenced in Arcane by Mels mother). Noxus as a nation can be slightly hard to explain. Overall they are viewed as an evil, expansionist nation that likes war. But internally they just value strength above all else. Ironically and not to retcon the show, they offer any many new nations they conquer a chance to join the nation of Noxus from lowest citizen to highest official. If you can do something and you have the willpower to show your value, you will do well. In short they are a meritocracy which values individuals abilities, strength and talents vs wealth, social class or race. One its highest generals - Darius, started out in the slums in Noxus with his brother Draven and they worked their way up to the highest rank of the army. In short, if you are weak, you will not survive in Noxian society. Back to Urgot He was tricked by Swain who wanted to become a general of the Noxus, and Swain sent Urgot to Piltover/Zaun to hunt down a traitor of Noxus. Urgot didn't realize he was set up, so he was captured and sent to the mines of Zaun where his body was worn and torn. Eventually Urgot realized the mines made him stronger and considered parts of his body weak so he mechanically altered himself over time. He eventually became a warrior of the chembarons of Zaun, but Piltover locked him up which is why the henchmen are trying to release him. The last story includes Ezreal and Kai’sa. To keep it short, Ezreal is just a person who likes to travel the land and find old relics. He is attacked by Voidlings which are from “The Void.” and he is saved by Kai’sa. Kai’sa is from one of the most ancient lands of Runeterra called “Shurima. LONG ago, a majority of the land was literally sucked up by “The Void” and Kai’sa village went under. Kai’sa only survived because she decided to go deeper into the void and eventually a piece of the void combined with her skin and transformed her; it gave her abilities and after escaping from the Void, she has vowed to defend all of Runeterra from any future Void events. (In league of legends lore, there are a few world ending events that can happen and “The Void” is one of them. Only way to defeat it would be that all of Runeterra would have to come together to fight the Void.)
Awake Lore
Again consist of three stories. The opening story takes place in the nation of Piltover at a theater. It includes two champions called Jhin and Camille. Jhin basically is a serial killer who gets thrilled off killing people. He is being hunted by Camille who is a leader of Piltover police. She has altered her body with hextech as she wants to be superior to others, more specifically to catch stronger and more bad people who could be stronger than her if she didn’t have the hextech.The second story takes place in a colosseum in the land of Noxus. The two champions here would be Draven and Riven. Draven, as mentioned above, worked his way up along with his brother Darius to high ranks in the Noxian military. He is enjoying a fight and the lady who pops up is Riven, she used to be Noxian but she witnessed a biochemical terror attack that killed many Ionians and Noxians alike. She went on self-imposed exile to seek atonement and find a way to serve her vision of the Pure Noxian spirit but the nation accused her of deserting thus she was a fugitive until captured. The last story takes place in an area called Ionia. In a way, think of a more tranquil part of the land, Japanese aesthetics. A lot more focus on pursuit of balance in things, from the material and spirit world and a lot more lush mountains, forest and waters. They are under assault from a Noxian attack. This story includes 7 champions, Ireliea lady with the flying swords, Karama who uses the shields, Akali that uses the smoke bomb, Yasuo who uses the sword and causes the tornado, & Kennen who has electricity powers. They are under attack by the Big giant called Sion who is a Noxus general.
A New dawn lore
Not much backstory, it's just a cool cinematic to kind of highlight the ACTUAL game, just from a cinematic perspective. Because the actual league of legends takes place on one map, two teams of 5 players, so 5v5 and your goal is to get to the other team's base and destroy it. Now they don’t include the base, but just champions fighting. The opening includes Leona who has the shield and Ahri, fox lady. They are being chased by Darius and Draven.The lady with the vines is Zyra.Ahri is then rescued by her team that includes Graves with the shotgun, Rengar who is the lion, and Jax who wields the staff. The lady jumping on the trees is Katarina who is also from Noxus. The big sea dude is called Nautilus who is from the region of Bilgewater(so is Graves). I won’t get into their backstories or powers, but just cool cinematic for the game and those who play it.
A Twist of Fate
Kind of the same as above. It opens up with a champion called Twist Fate, he uses magic with cards. He is attacked by Fiddlesticks who is a scarecrow. The next story includes the blue guy called Ryze and he’s being chased by Nocturne. Ryze basically goes throughout the land to collect items of immense power, but not to use it, but to prevent bad people from abusing the items. Nocturne really is just an assassin that lives in the dark and can use the dark to enhance his powers. Next clip includes Garen and Katarina fighting. He runs into tryndamere who is a barbarian king who comes from the nation of freljord. The reason he doesn’t die after being stabbed is that his ultimate allows him to not die for a certain amount of time so he is temporarily invulnerable. The girl with the Bear is Annie who has magic abilities that allow her to use fire and animate her teddy bear which is called Tibbers. And the very last big dragon thing is called “The Baron.” It just teases/highlights the extra bonus teams can fight for in the middle of the game. Usually takes either team of 5 to defeat the baron but whichever team gets the baron, gets bonus temporary stats for about 3-5 minutes in game. In case you didn’t know again, this is 5v5, it has a top down view so there’s 3 lanes. Top lane, middle lane, bottom lane and jungle in the middle. The top lane is usually 1v1, so is the middle lane, and bottom lane is 2v2 with jungler on each side. There’s different classes such as tanks who just build defensive items and health, fighters who can do a little more damage but don’t focus purely defensive, mages who can focus on magic power, supports who can focus on healing, shields, movement, or just tanking, and assassin who sole focus is to kill the squishies which usually are the adc(attack damage carries.) they build no health or defensive items, just damage. The first 1-20 minutes of the game consist of each person staying in their lanes each lane as 2 phases of turrets to get to the base and the jungler travels across the map helping each lane. After about 20-25 minutes the map opens up as the teams then typically travel together as they try to finish the match, get enemies base and destroy their crystal, and try to get extra bonuses such as baron and dragons along the way. Sorry if that’s nerdy, but hopefully adds extra context to the actual game of league of legends. Also league has over 174 champions now that each have their own backstories and lore and could be their own protagonist. Arcane included 9 total from the game which were Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce, Viktor, Ekko, Singed and two more that I can't include for spoiler reasons but league fans know who they are.

What I love most about these cinematics is that pretty much everything the champs do in them, are based off of what they do in game, like the way they fight in these are just basically their abilities in game.

This will be a brief rundown of all the cinematics. I'm not going to try to go through every detail here.
2:34 Warriors
-The Ice bridge is on the border of the Demacia domain, where the girl (Lux) and the guy (garen) are from. Someone mentioned it and nailed it, they are brother and sister. The man with the chains is Sylas. Previously part of demacia but was imprisoned because he was a mage (there's a lot of backstory here). Basically, demacia hates mages and either imprisons them, kills them, or makes them hunt other mages. Check out Magic is Rising: Stand With Sylas short cinematic for more info on him
-The dessert place is in Shurima. Its basically ancient Egypt but in Runeterra. The guy (Ezreal) is basically Indiana Jones. The girl (Kai'sa) is unfortunate enough to have combined with the Void and is constantly fighting it, which is the purple bug things they were fighting
-Then we obviously have Zaun, where we see Caitlyn and Vi. The man imprisoned there is Urgot, an outcast from Noxus who was betrayed by his own leadership and swears vengeance, regardless of who he has to go through to get it.
7:01 Awaken
-The Theater is actually in Zaun as well. Playing the piano we have Jhin the Virtuoso, a serial killer who believes murder is art (which is why when people are being destroyed by his mines, you see pretty purple dust). The woman who comes in is Camille. She "works with" the enforcers. In reality, she's the main weapon of one of the major crime families in Piltover and her backstory is quite interesting
-The Arena is in Noxus, a domain that is typically displayed as the bad guys as they conquer everywhere they go. The general rule in Noxus is you're either strong or you die. The man watching the Arena is Draven. He's a great warrior and a well-known arena fighter in Noxus. The woman is Riven. She was captured by Noxus, held prisoner, and forced to fight in the Arena. She ends up joining Noxus' ranks.
-The giant war took place in Ionia, a spiritually focused place with demons, samurai, and other things. For a very basic description, think Samurai Jack and Naruto. The woman introduced at the beginning is Irelia, a leader of Ionia. The approaching army is that of Noxus. The giant man she faces is Sion. He's essentially undead and everytime he's beaten he just comes back. Then we introduce Karma, Akali, Kennen, and Yasuo. All of these hold significant roles in Ionia.
12:00 Rise
-This was the anthem for Worlds that year. Each person depicted is a player in pro league. They also all used the weapons and skills of one of their signature characters in this video.
16:15 A New Dawn
-This Cinematic doesn't actually take place in a specific region. As one of their earliest cinematics, they weren't super focused on building their world at this time. This video is more of a depiction of a league of legends match, which is why its 5v5. The characters in the match are Leona (big shield), Ahri (Fox girl), Rengar (Cat man), Graves (shotgun dude), Jax (Polearm fighter), Katarina (Red head assassin), Darius (Big Axe), Draven (swinging axes), Zyra (Plant lady), and Nautilus (Giant diver suit)
24:07 Twist of Fate
-The first part with the crows is in Demacia. We know this because Fiddlesticks, the scarecrow, is found in the outskirts of Demacia. The man with the cards is Twisted Fate. He's typically in Bilgewater, a sort of Pirate's Cove in Runeterra
-The battle in the darkness is between Ryze (The blue guy) who is arguably the main character of League lore, and Nocturne, a demon born from the darkness itself.
-The next battle is between Garen and Katarina, who we've already seen in other cinematics. Then Tryndamere, the barbarian king and the man too angry to die joins the fight. Next we have Annie, a girl with a demon-possessed teddy bear (Who has an AMAZING cinematic called Annie: Origins), and finally we have Baron Nashor who is a boss on the map in League.
Urgot was in the Warriors cinematic as the mechanical spider cyborg. Hes a different character than Singed who was Silcos accomplice in arcane.

I need to explain a new dawn, this video is when u take live game play and put it a cin amatic form. 5 players vs 5 players using their ultimate and passive powers. That area is called jungle region.. difficult to fight in . When a charater died it's like live play...😊

In the warriors cinematic, y’all said something about y she waited so long. She waited so long because mages in the country she is from get arrested, as the country has banned magic. She is the sister of the big guy and basically the princess. The people who were attacking were the mages that were imprisoned, with their leader being the guy who had the chains (he also taught the girl magic). She waited so long because she didn’t want to go to jail and have her brother hate her.

All of the characters in everthing Riot releases are playable in either League of Legends or Legends of RuneTerra a Magic style card game online there are cinematics for both. These cinematics are either a video to kick off the new season, for a champion release, for a new skinline, for an upcoming in game event, for pro league championships, music videos, or in the case if annie and amumu back story videos. They are all of the Highest caliber.
Ok so I know im a little late to this response but here LEAGUE LORE TIME! So in the first cinematic you saw Garen, Lux, Sylas and Galio (the knights with the magic girl) They are from Demacia. Their whole thing is about keeping the peace but they refuse to acknowledge the use of magic, they think magic is too dangerous as heimerdinger has said in arcane. During the next scene we saw of course Vi, Cait, and Urgot (Not the scientist BTW, The scientist is a different character) They are from the same area as the show. Known as the regions of Zaun being where Vi / Jinx were from. Then Piltover the Upper part of the city where Jayce and Cait are from. Next the scene with Kai'sa and Ezreal, they are fighting what is called the void and the void is the "main bad guy" of the league universe. The void has its own agenda to take over and destroy worlds and Runeterra is just currently the one of many it is inhabiting. Going into the second cinematic we have Jhin ( MUSIC MAN ) and Camille ( AOT LADY ). Jhin is from the same region as all the fight that happened in that open farmland scene later in the cinematic, that, region is known as Ionia. Camille is from the same place as seen in the show Piltover. The girl with the sword fighting the guy with the two swinging axes was Riven ( the girl) and Draven. Draven is from a place called Noxus where in the show Mel ( Counsel Lady that helped Jayce get onto the counsel) her mother was from Noxus. Noxus is a place like Zaun where crime basically is everywhere and nobody bats an eye, just no shimmer here that is why everyone here is some what not insane. The only Regions I havent really covered yet are Mount Targon which is defined as "the mightiest peak in Runeterra, a towering peak of sun-baked rock amid a range of summits unmatched in scale anywhere else in the world". We then have the Freljord which is the frozen tundra. The native people of this area are mainly dressed in fur and have "Ice-like Powers" and Finally Bilgewater! Bilgewater is mainly the pirates of the game. I hope yall see this for the lore drop and to help yall understand the next season of arcane better!

The game of LoL has nothing at all to do with the lore anymore. That was retconned a long time ago. These videos are just yearly hype videos. I really love all the speculation, but unfortunately there will never be an avengers style get together that mimics the game. There are some big events though ie "the ruination" that have champion team ups.
Also in Warriors, the chain male character Sylas stole the others ability's, and thats where his light sword came from.
Magic is illegal and highly frowned upon there in Demacia. Which is why when the girl who picked up the wand (lux), used it for magic, it was a huge deal. She is in the royal court and just outed herself as a mage.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but the blonde girl from the first one (Lucks) apparently was holding off using her power because where she and her army are from, they are VERY prejudiced against mages. So it was a case of saving Garen (her brother, who presumably wanted to keep her powers secret too), or not blowing her cover. That is what I have been told, at least! :D

Yes you are correct, Lux and her brother are from Demacia and sshe had to give in, she summoned Galio for protection (Galio is one of the statues they make to absorb magic and keep them safe, and eventually with the magic they come alive) before finish them with her ultimate ability. And Lux is right to be mad, the person leading the attack is Sylas, he was jailed since young for being a mage and Lux actually befriended him as a mage herself, he then proceeded to use her kindness against her and steals some of her powers to set himself free and then fight against demacia.

Lot of the characters are modeled after what we know in culture. Like The Predator (Rengar), TMNT (Jax), Gambit from Marvel (Twisted Fate); so if it seems to mimic, it more than likely is inspired.

5:36 the thing going on with Lux and Garen is there's a civil war in Demacia between Pro Mages and Anti-Mages, Lux is a Mage but their Relatives (Auntie) is a higher up in the anti mage faction so they've been hiding it ever since, hence she hid it up until Garen almost died. That dude with the chains is Sylas and copies things with Magic so that is a magic sword
Also, there's different kinds of cinematics
A cinematic for the Game that either teases a champion & promotes a skin/skin line or how the game actually works(A New Dawn)
There is also a cinematic for lore which expands world building and actual cannon events, these are things that took place in the same World as Arcane (Warriors, Awaken, Still Here)
There are esport cinematics and anthems which are also MVs. (Rise)
correct except that group they are with know shes a mage. they never say how they know just that they know and respect her and garen. they do say lux is shy to use her magic for fear of being found out (understandable) so that might be why she holds off for so long but riot never explains this. oh and how do i know this? necrit. he talked once about the group her and garen are currently with knows shes a mage and i wont argue with him. i think he said its in a story but i couldnt tell you what one.

for the question why the girl (Lux) in warriors waited to use her magic is because the Region is "Demacia" and they are very strict anti Magic.
(even the stone the city is build from also absorbs magic power so THAT kind of Anti Magic)
That is also why The guy with the chains (Sylas) is attacking them.
He was a mage that was imprisioned in Demacia (he also managed to break free because he betrayed Lux who had sympathy for him by stealing/absorbing some of her magic to escape)

The squad at 10:15 was 5 playable characters from a region called Ionia in Runeterra (just like the ones we know in Arcane). The theme of the region is Japan-ish with ninjas, samurai and stuff. Super cool if they were to make a setting for a series there

RISE was a homage to the Worlds Tournament each year. those were all players animated into the game. theres stories behind each of the fight scenes. the main guy you follow to the top was a Veteran star player that managed to topple the defending champions who had just won back to back tournaments. and yes most of the players are Chinese/korean. they have the best teams and players. Western Teams sadly get their shit rocked in international league tournaments the East is just built different when it comes to league of legends. the last guy he fought in the red jacket at the end is Faker. who just won gamer of the year has won the worlds tournament 4 times and is a 11 year veteran of this 14 year old game. Faker is considered the greatest player of all time UNANIMOUSLY in fact its so unanimous that he was just inducted into League's brand new Hall of Legends (like a hall of fam) as their first Inductee. his story and ability in the game is inhuman and incredible to watch. he has reaction times that are only matched by computers.

Basically, how I always understood the premise of League of Legends is; that legendary figures of Runeterra are summoned to an other-dimensional arena to fight battles for our amusement. Or something to that effect.
Last I played LoL they had around 120 playable characters, called Champions, but as far as I remember they used to release new ones every few months so I am sure there must be close to 200 different Champions by now.
The above is also the reason you shouldn't assume that a character isn't important or "not a main character" just because they die in a cinematic, most characters that don't have basic armor on and are not just in the background are playable characters of League of Legends.
Additionally, if you see groups of 5 battle each other in these trailers, like in 'A New Dawn', don't assume the characters are actually allied in the world of Runeterra.
Speaking of 'A New Dawn' that trailer actually represent how the game is played in a very dramaticized way: 2 teams of 5 players each choose one Champion to play from any of the aforementioned few hundred playable characters and then try to destroy each others base. The reason the characters died in the trailer, even though all of them were "main" characters, is that in the actual game you don't have just 1 life per match, but respawn infinitely until the match is over.
As for the 'Rise' cinematic: That was indeed a trailer not for the game itself, but for the World Championship of League of Legends. Instead of the games Champions, the trailer showed famous/strong players from the previous Worlds.
Interesting to note is that each player in the cinematic used the weapons of Champions they used in said previous Worlds.
Last but not least; You guys talked about learning more about the world of Runeterra. Not long after Arcane released, the RUclipsr Necrit published a 50minute long video called "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done" explaining the regions, factions, people of note and a small bit of history of the world and it was fairly popular to react to amongst both MMO players as well as new fans of Arcane and League of Legends, so Recommend watching that, or maybe even reacting to it.

Hi, you asked about the lore and background for the characters... You don't get almost nothing for playing the game, there is dedicated oficial website that has all the lore and stories about the champions (characters) and the world of Runeterra. Also there are some books and novels as well.
With A New Dawn, you have to play the game to get it. It's pretty accurate to the banker play during it's time. 😂
This isn’t saying it as bashing arcane, but once you join the league rabbit hole you start to notice that the Arcane story is by far the tamest one compared to the gods and the magic weirdest around the world. It’s such a blast seeing people notice just how vast the league world really is.

Warriors:
- You have in Demacia - the anti-mage region - Garen (got it right, big brother) and his Sister Lux, which is, as her name implies, a mage using light. They are fighting against Sylas (guy with the chains), which was imprisoned basically his whole year for the crime of being born a mage and then broke out and started a revolution. The sword he conjured is an ability of Garen, as Sylas is able to steal the "ultimate abilities" of his enemies. At the end, the big winged stone statue is Galio. He is made of the Anti-Magic matieral Demacia is known for, and has absorbed so much magic, he came to live.
- In Noxus - a region who tries to conquer and absorb every other country, is led by 3 leaders. One of them (the one looking like WaLuigi RTX ON) is Draven. The white haired woman in the Pit is Riven. She wields a Runeforged sword. Runes allow weapons to get certain properties, such as unbreakable, super big but light, thins like that.
- Third region is not sure, but should be Shurima (Egyptian inspired desert region with a bit of jungle). The indiana jones like guy is Ezreal who likes to tomb raid. He doesn't even know that his bracelet is part of a set of an ancient powerful relic. The little crawly thingies are little voidlings attacking him and gets saves by Kai'Sa. Originally a human who made the void part of her own in order to fight against the void (the void is basically the ultimate thing that threatens to destroy not only the world, but reality.
Awaken:
- As you might have guess, in Piltover there is Caitlyn and Vi, and they eventually end up fighting against Urgot (it's not Singed)
- In Piltover you have the blade-legged lady Called Camille who is reponsible for the safety of the city and Jhin, a Massmuderer (for hire) originally from Ionia. He treats killing as art. [You will mostlikely watch his cinematic too later]
- In Ionia (eastern type country) the blue haired blade Dancer is Irelia. Noxus is invading them so they try to fight them off. Her allies are Yasuo the Samurai who uses wind (who made the tornado) Kennen, a Yordle (a race of being that consist of pure magic) who uses the electric storm attack, Akali the green clothes Ninja and Karma, the Spirit of Ionia itself. (In Ionia everything is alive, so it is known that a river decided to wash away the invading noxians)
On the Noxian side, the only champion there is SION, the big buff dude with the red glowing upper body. He used to be a very good warrior and eventually died. so they decided to reanimate him with hemomancy (blood magic).
Rise:
As you might have guessed, this is a Worlds Anthem Cinematic. It depics the climb in Rankings and tournament, defeating the current champion but the next ones are already coming. Usually in worlds cinematics, players are depicted with iconic weapons or gear of their repsective most played or favorit or otherwise iconic champion.
A new Dawn:
This Cinematic does not play in RUneterra (the world of lol), but it depics a match, aka the game.
The Map in lol has 3 lanes (roads) and the rest of it is jungle (bushes and tress) and a river, and a base for each team. So this cinematic plays in the jungle.
In one team you get 2 of the leaders of Noxus: The older brother Darius (Axe) and the Younger Brother Draven, The red haired Assasin Katarina also from Noxus (and future girlfriend of Garen), the one with the Shotgun is Graves, usually roaming around Bildgewater (pirate-y area) and the Boyfriend of Twisted Fate. The Plantlady is Zyra, she was originally a Human.
The other Team is Leona (the golden Tank) who is the Aspect of the Sun (something like a human who ascended to be a deity), then there is Ahri the white fox Vastaya (Vastaya is a race which is half human and half spiritual animal, there a ton of different clans, depending on what kind of animals the humans originally mated with......), Rengar the Lion Assassin with the cloaking ability is also a Vastaya. The Honji-Monk-Like guy in purple and the not-weapon he uses as a weapon, he is Jax from Ixtal, a neighbor region of Shurima which got devoured by the void. And the big guy with the Anchor is Nautilus. He is from Bilgewater and originally died in the water and is - loosely put, something like a haunting ghost.
A Twist of Fate:
Twisted Fate a mage using card, Boyfriend of Graves, also roams around Bildgewater usually. He is fighting against Fiddlesticks. The scarecrow isn't actually his body, but it's a little ball that is him, a demon - more specifically the Priomodial Fear. You prolly will be watching his rework (adjusted look) cinematic later.
Next you can see the poster Boy Ryze. He is a Human mage, who is basically collecting the "infinity stones". Runes with such powerful magic, they should not be used. Runeterra got it's name from them (Rune -> Magic, Terra -> Earth). He is chased by "THE DARKNESS" that is Nocturne, like Fiddlestick he is a Demon, the Primordial true Darkness.
After that, you see the future lovers Katarina from Noxus and Garen from Demacia fight, before eventually Tryndamere (from Feljord, the nordish, snowy region) butts in. (You may encounter him again in the newest 2024 cinematic if that is on the list). Before he get's to off Garen, he gets blown away by a fireball. The little girl is a born fire mage called Annie. Her Teddy is called Tibbers. The worm monster is a gameboss call Baron Nashor and is a creature created in the image of the Starforging cosmic dragon Aurelion Sol.

Some corrections:
-Sylas was imprisoned for many (15 I think?) years since he was a child.
-Noxus was in "Awaken", not "Warriors".
-Draven is not one of Noxus' leaders. It's his brother Darius (the guy who dies last in "A New Dawn"). Draven is just the king of the gladiator sport (not actual royalty, just a title). I think he's referred to as the king of the colosseum but I can't remember.
-Piltover was also in "Warriors" where Caitlyn, Urgot, & Vi were.
-Irelia has black hair, not blue.
-Again, Draven is not a real leader. He's just in charge of the gladiator battles. He's basically a celebrity that can fight real good.
-It's spelled "Bilgewater". This one's not a big deal so it's alright.
-You forgot to mention this: Nocturne is a demon of nightmares.
-It's "Nordic", not "nordish".
-Another thing you forgot to mention: Tryndamere here is not in his original base design. This is a skin. Don't know what it's called though.
-Baron is not created in Aurelion Sol's image. That was something else. Baron is just one of the enemies on the map you can farm for.. idk, mana? I don't play the game. lol

With New dawn, this is cinematic of actually game play, they are on summoner's Rift in the jungle. All 10 characters are Champions in the game, their deaths aren't "cannon"

With how many characters there are they could absolutly find ways to make an MCU type universe if they wanna go that way but i dont think it would work aswell as ppl may think. The League characters lore power scailing gets out of control really quickly, especially when u start to get into the magic users. Even some of the weaker magic users just blow most of the none magic users out of the water. The characters that we have seen in the Arcane show are all probadly in the weakest 15% range. Except for Heimerdinger he is way above the rest of the characters in the show. Jinx is actually 1 of if not the weakest League character of all 160+ from a lore perspective.
Now that we've gone through a bunch of other lore we can see this more than ever!

ok most people dont know this but the game and the world are separate. at one time they were together but as of now the game is not in the world of runterra. and if you want a base level understanding or lore of runeterra watch necrit's video "the world of riot's mmo is already done". it does a small touch in each area.
Either stick to the best or go chronologically. There's like 9-10 must watches and 30-40 not so much
If you want to learn about the lore of the world or champions I recommend checking out some videos from a dude named Necrit entertaining and begginer friendly.

12:53 the OG League of Legends lore is that mages/wizards almost destroyed the planet Runeterra at large, so all the factions agreed to limit using their biggest magic people, or "champions", to instead have them fight in a designated place, the League of Legends/Summoner's Rift, to kinda prevent Armageddon from happening again
Edit: the characters/champions get "summoned" into the summoner's rift and magically don't die for real, hence why some of these characters arent scared when "dying."
