    Hey man great info. Thanks for posting. I got an M112 on eBay for a 2001 pre-terminator 4V and the blower needs work. Where do you suggest I send it for porting and a full overhaul including rotor coating? I don’t want to end up with the same shop that didn’t work out for you twice.

      @@george.mattocks if you put a gun to my head today I would go with supechargersonline or Jon bond performance. Many people recommend jokerz but I have been burned twice and that's enough for me. I have bought parts from Jon bond before and the guys are nice and they are only a couple hours from me so for that reason they would be my personal choice.

      @@605BOLT sweet man thanks for the info. I’ve exchanged a couple emails with Jon Bond so glad to hear he isn’t the one that burned you. Curious if you’ve attempted to time the rotors yourself. I’ve ceramic coated stuff before and still have materials leftover. Just wondering if it’s quite difficult to reassemble the rotors with correct timing.

      @@605BOLT gotcha. Must be a very precise process. Maybe I’ll disassemble and if I can’t put it together I’ll send for the overhaul. Not desperate just like tinkering 😂

      @@george.mattocks I hear you there. Might be what happens to my Eaton when I replace it with something much better soon. 🤫 Donated to science haha. The gears are pressed onto the rotors I think and there isn't a keyway or alignment dowel I don't think. But then again there must be something because in the factory that would be awful. Idk. I'm curious.

    gday mate, i have a 2000 mustang 4.6 2v with the saleen m90 series 1 supercharger kit and bearings i think failed but now i think about it the noise was like paper stuck in a vacuum and could have been the teflon coating coming off? its coming off in sheets now cause i was stupid and cleaned the rotors and the coating is fkd and peeling off.
    my question is; in your experience having non coated rotors have u had any issues like thermal expansion etc? i cant see a telfon coating stopping much expansion because of heat sink the teflon wouldnt keep the rotors cool.
    im worried if i take all the coating off i may sieze the m90 and destroy it?!

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  10 дней назад +1

      I can't really say. Obviously the coating has some thickness even if it is just thousandths of an inch. Removing it would increase the clearances slightly. I think its safe to assume that removing the coating thickness will offset whatever increased thermal expansion takes place. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Also, recoating costs are effectively the same price as a rebuild so you might as well run it until it needs a rebuild and go from there. Many supercharger specialists offer rotor stripping as a service so if yours is coming off I'd say thats ok. Just part of them getting old I guess. I don't think your risk of seizure is any higher now that the coating is off.

      @heathsmetalwerx 9 дней назад

      @605BOLT awesome cheers mate appreciate the response, I will definitely be looking into it (new coating).
      Well I'm not in a position to to recoat them at the moment and in Australia we have strick laws on chemicals and going off how hard it is to get a quality and affordable chrome plating for example is basically none existent lol.
      I Might be better off buying a rebuilt from USA and get it delivered and still probably be cheaper.
      If the bare rotors fail then the turbo goes on s9 win win either way🤣

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  5 месяцев назад +1

      I never ran a 6. Just went right for the 8 and E85 right off. But the blowers don't last with a big pulley in my experience. Hence moving on to better things. I have a built engine so there wasn't really the risk of scattering the engine for me.

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  5 месяцев назад +1

      To answer your question though I doubt the 8 is that much better than 6.

      @grantbaggs1111 5 месяцев назад

      Would you say the same for a Harley truck? Where 8# would be equivalent to a L 6#? Keeping the stock upper, obviously.

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  5 месяцев назад

      Ya lots of guys go 8# on harley which is the same as a 6# on Lightning. That would be a nice setup I think. Any time you pulley up it is hard on the blower but ya, you'll notice a difference for sure haha.

    Does the M112 have a special vented pulley bolt?

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  Месяц назад

      No that I'm aware of. Lightning guys (me) don't have much experience with changing around the top pulley. Lightnings almost always make the lower bigger rather than the top smaller. To prevent belt slip. Long way of me saying that I've never had to remove a snout pulley yet so I don't know about the pulley bolt. Pretty sure it is not vented though.

      I can't yet because I haven't taken it apart. Don't know that I ever will to be honest. It still spins freely unlike my other one but I took it off before I killed it completely. Someone may be able to use it as parts.

      @@maxperez3626 your only option would be a tork tech supercharger kit with PI heads. Your 97 would not have those but could be swapped to them. Not impossible but a procharger type setup would probably be slightly more convenient and probably cheaper too.
