I had to stop the video at around 0:45 because I was rolling my eyes too hard as how awful this is. Scylla isn't evil. She's a victim driven insane by a-hole mythological figures and turned into a monster. Yes, she's hungry. But she's a figure of pity and horror, not "evil".

The old stories say she was dropped into the ocean by angry gods to punish humanity. She is hungry, sure, but in her eyes luring people into death is not evil, it is just how she feeds. Smite has so much cool mythology. I need to try this game out, if only so I can play as awesome gods and monsters like these. Also, I really like the "evil little princess" interpretation you guys did for Scylla! Please keep the mythical beasts coming. You're doing a great job, and I might have to join just to try out Kukulkan. Y'all should try out something like the Fenghuang or Ho-oh, depending on whether you want it to under the Chinese or Japanese banner. Also, please consider Native North American mythologies. You have some awesome ideas from the Maya, and I'd love to see your take on Pueblo or Algonquin gods and beasts.
Wow, her skillset is super cool! I love the way Hi-Rez always improves this game, I was playing back in the beta and I'm still doing it, thinking about all the things that changed from the old Wukong and Odin models so far is amazing :) Hun Batz new skin is awesome, that along Poolseidon, Anubis ones and stuff are the way to go for skin(not like the old, bland recolors like Slytherin Loki...Infiltrator for example is just great!). The one and only thing you're missing that I suggest on every god reveal is the fact that you should add the new god's alternate skin at the end of the video or at the start of it. Everytime I have to open the client just to check it. I know it's minor since I "have to" open it anyway, it's just a good addition :)
It's ready to be released, the fact there's a label saying "beta" or "released" doesn't change the actual content of the game. Seeing you took the time to comment only on that instead of trying to turn your brain on and understand says a lot on the kind of person you are. The great fact about Smite is it defends itself. Mythology is full of demonic little girls and women. Annie is based off fire right? Scylla is not even close to being involved with teddy bears and fire. Scylla is just HiRez's depicition of the mythological beast, which was part woman. Also, mythology is to far spread to be exact, making it easy to manipulate into a fighting game. For example, hydra has 5 heads in one myth, 3 in another, and 6 six in another. The character is also seemingly supposed to be a mix of Charybdis and Scylla, as there often paired together and you csn't have a living whirlpool as a charcater. So they integrated Charybdis's abilities into Scylla, and gave her a little girl look, which in my opinion is more intimidating than a woman figure.

Since then most MOBAs have had one, (example Ayla from awesomenauts) so that's why. "Anne-like" has pretty much become a kind of character design.
I always forget that the awesome water Hydra from Age of Mythology isn't the real Scylla, but aside from crushing my hopes and dreams she's awesome. Keep up with the great work!

I feel like they sold out in turning Scylla into a child by trying to cash in on the "creepy child mage" thing that League had going with Annie. Scylla was meant to be a sea nymph whose beauty made Aphrodite jealous, so why she's portrayed as a child I have no clue. One of the only gods I really have a gripe with the portrayal of (besides new Kali.)

Other legend is that Circe (from Odyssey) is the one who poisoned the water. Lastly another version is that Hera turned Scylla's mother Lamia, who was a beautiful queen and favored by Zeus, into a monster and then she gave birth to Scylla.

Scylla is a humanoid, but she was cursed in most forms of mythology etc. There are very few that state her to be born as a monster. She was originally humanoid, was cursed, then became half human half monster.

I wonder if they will ever add gods from the Japanese pantheon, they have quite a few there too like Susano'O, Amaterasu, Izanami, Tsukiyomi, Izanagi, and maybe even demonic creatures like Yamato no Orochi, or the Neokemata and Nine-tailed fox.
You know......I have NO idea why they don't have Japanese Gods. They have Chinese and even Mayans, but not Japanese. I wonder why, their designs could be quite amazing.

I feel like they sold out in turning Scylla into a child by trying to cash in on the "creepy child mage" thing that League had going with Annie. Scylla was meant to be a sea nymph whose beauty made Aphrodite jealous, so why she's portrayed as a child I have no clue. One of the only gods I really have a gripe with the portrayal of (besides new Kali.)
But Annie is anything BUT creepy.

+Remlap1223 It wasn't Aphrodite. Poseidon claimed Scylla but Amphitrite (Poseidon's wife), out of jealousy poisoned the waters of the spring Scylla would bath and turned her into monster. Other legend is that Circe (from Odyssey) is the one who poisoned the water. Lastly another version is that Hera turned Scylla's mother Lamia, who was a beautiful queen and favored by Zeus, into a monster and then she gave birth to Scylla.
