Its Tuesday lunchtime and I'm meeting Kari, The Desert Mermaid @Snyder0901 to grab the mix of jewelry that made into the wrong bag last time we met at Broadacres Swapmeet, to give her a gift I thrifted in my last video, and to go thrifting at my favorite Goodwill at Rainbow and Cheyenne! They were stocking the shelves as we walked in and the treasures began to flow into my cart! I thought I saw the other chec piece on the cart before you picked up the doll
We were thinking the little Rag Doll you feel has Sun Faded Hair may not be Sun Faded at all. If you notice, the Blue Bow in her hair is not faded in the slightest. Her hair shade might be intentional. So cute! You certainly picked up some wonderful pieces again this week. Would love to see the Wood pieces all Oiled up before they are sold. Cathleen

If you look up boyd dolls you will find both. the hair is the correct color and they average $30-75 each
I was going to say the same thing, also it's the same shade underneath where it would be darker but it's not.
That Goodwill is a gold mine... I wish we had one like that here in Los Angeles.

I think that rag doll is supposed to have that faded hair color. I don't think it is from the sun because it is faded evenly and that wouldn't happen from the sun.
You can take sand paper on that chip and sand it smooth
I love the older milk glass that has the opalescent tint when the light shines thru. I put battery operated votive in them and the light illuminates the pattern on the glass as well as the tint of the glass. i do this at Christmas, usually on top of my piano

The coin is a native American pronounced (sacka- jewea) but it's spelled Sacagawea.
That citrine dish , looks like a possible Murano from what I can see on the video .

Those half gallon canning jars are no longer made. They are unsafe for food preservation as the heat from the canning process does not penetrate deeply enough to be safe. I use mine for sugar because it really keeps moisture out.

I’m glad you’re influencing the use of beautiful old items like the milk glass.
One thing I’ve gained an appreciation for (and I’d love to know what you think) is the single item-like the single glass, plate, candle holder, etc. I know you have to purchase what will sell but I pray people will develop an desire for the single item, too ❤️🙂

I found a chinese jade leaf glass flower 26 inch long bonsai tree last tuesday at goodwill thank you for reminding me to go through all the floral stuff as that is where I found it on its side next to bottom shelf,, so many people had been through the area it was like 11:00 senior day I actually had to wait to go down that way,, almost went home because there was no park after driving around the parking lot 3 times I parked far away by another store oh paid $19.00 after 20% coupon the large ones sell for $2-300.00

Perhaps you are referring to Reuven Art Glass? The artist Robert Reuven Brown creates glass based on ancient Peruvian techniques. He creates beautiful pieces by etching and hand painting his glass creations and then firing them causing the paint to melt into the glass in stunning and one of a kind patterns. oxo

Great haul, as usual! Your advice about looking at the vases they put fake flowers in is spot on: about 8 years ago I found an 18" Waterford vase with the most pitiful, banged up flowers shoved in it. It weighs a ton 😂

maybe the :faded raggedy ann is a strawberry blonde friend, lol. how fun. its nice to see Carrie. i love the white ware, when I was a little girl, every thanksgiving my mother would make A,bropsoa amd serve i8t in her milk glass bubble bowl. my gramd ,was once married into a swiss (fancy) family and had wonderful serving dishes, and bone china, and I have some of it, and her carnival glass pear candy dish. my story of the pear bowl was I was a child with a never satisfied candy addiction, so she put her candy in that dish because there was no way to lift the lid without it ringing clear and true to announce that Robin was in the candy dish again. it was a family joke and I have the dish now, and love to remember the gentle and cautious way I used to try to thwart that darn ringing dish. some antique things just grow in your heart, I am 78 now and still remember where she kept it, inf act my old house I live in has an almost matching pass through china cabinet from kitchen to dining room. that canrival glass dish sits in the exacact place in the cabinet.

That raggedy Ann’s hair I think was made that way on purpose if you look at the bow it’s not faded at all and the hair is faded exactly the same on both sides of her head the same.

I always have a formal Thanksgiving dinner....antique bone dishes are great,my family thinks I'm crazy but they all use them,also antique. knife rests...(they are so underrated) hope my adult sons will continue the tradition 😂

The closest I can find for the citrine glass piece is possibly Federal glass??? And Sacagawea is pronounced “sack-a-ja-we-a” … coming from Indian country I know there are a lot of words many have trouble pronouncing. No worries ❤

I didn't have much luck at this Goodwill on my last trip to Vegas, but I was also limited to what I could pack or ship. My mom has an amber bottle just like the pink one, different pattern. I'll have to look closer the next time I'm at her house. I'm supposed to inherit her glass collection and I know she received a lot from my grandmother, who was from England. I want to say she has some of the inlaid wood pictures too. By the way....I LOVE MILKGLASS!
