    90s sport bikes, especially the 750-900s are so special and unique, I definitely want to keep one around, I'm sure I'd miss it

    To be honest Mid 80s and 90s sportbikes are the peak of sportsbike designs. Mid 80s and 90s sportsbike designs are better than the current motobike designs in my opinion. They aesthethically unique and beautiful awesome. With a boxy fairings, round/square headlamp just perfect...

      I can't say I totally agree with you but the styling of each decade is always iconic 🤘 my childhood was the 90's so I love 90's stuff but my teens were the 2000's ... I like the new stuff but the power and packed with aids is not really as pure as I would like it to be.

      I agree. Mid 80s to mid 90s is the aesthetic peak. Before that they're Cafe racers, afterwards too agressively insectile (and blandly all look the same)

      @@harryflashman4542 the unique point of the mid 80s to mid 90s sportbikes (especially sports fairings) designs is: you can feel the "fun to ride" aura just looking at it. Nowadays you need to ride it to know is it fun to ride or not because the current designs are kind of bland.

      @@mamoruchiba3301 I think it's because 80s to 90s sport bikes design was straight from racing. They were road legal race bikes. Whereas once the sport bike became popular every street bike received maxed out aggressive styling. They are so over-hyped aesthetically that they all look like two wheeled insects. Just overkill. Too many vents, louvers, angles, slants and anatomic details. I like the basic rounded simple fairings on early sport bikes best. They're there for a purpose rather than a design statement.

    I've got a GSXR1100, 1990, upside down fork first edition in blue and white. Love the bike, like you say, uncomfortable but loads of fun. 👍

    I was on the road on my tzr125 in the 90's had virtually every hot hatch made and the party scene was unbelievable, what a amazing time to be a young man😊 everything was just incredible tbf🤣. Great video again and 100% accurate 😎🤙

      TZR 125 was my second bike after a Fs1E. What a pocket rocket! So much fun over 8,000 rpm. Soooooo wish I'd held onto it.

      TZR 125, RG 250, KR1-S 250, RGV 250, NC400, GSXR 750, Zx7R, And now I own another GSXR750 1999. can still hold its own still to this day on a twisty track 😎

    I own a 95 Ninja ZX600c8 and it fires up right away with no choke no issues. You may need to look into tuning your carbs up some to help with the cold starts and it will help performance

      The zxr was always a slow to warm up bike. Sadly I had to let go of it due to the ergos and my back 😓 I absolutely loved the machine but I sold it to a lady who absolutely loves it and looks after it 🤘

    Motorcycle design went downhill after 2004 in my opinion new bikes look awful with ugly seat cowling 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Big ‘90s sport bike fan.. so much so I have a few, ‘90 Kawasaki ZXR750 H2, ‘98 Suzuki GSXR750 SRAD, ‘99 Honda Fireblade, ‘99 Suzuki TL-R, ‘04 Kawasaki ZX12R, and most recent purchase, a ‘91 Honda CBR1000F 😎
    So yeah, love em! 😁

      Cheers dude 🤘90's really had character in comparison to modern day machines. I've recently sold my zxr unfortunately my back really didn't like that position at all 😓 part of me wanted to street fighter it but I didn't want to bastardise a classic 😓

    Had my H1 for 12years, I rode it everyday for 3yrs, stuck 35k on it, I loved it, granted I was a little less rotund, but it was perfect for me, I just fit perfectly on it, power for the road was more than enough, very forgiving bike but taught you a lot how and where to use the power
    The 400s were actually made because of the Japanese market being so restricted, power was capped at 100bhp (basically 600cc territory) so these were made and you had these little corner weapons with around 60bhp, the 2003 happened with stupid emissions and we lost all 400s and 750s (GSXR being the only exception) and also 250s and almost all 2 stroke bikes

    I own a yamaha fzr 400 rr 3tj and i love it the sound the power are just amazing the new 400s are just bornig with 1 2cyl

      I bought a rc390 for some reason. Dog slow but handled quite well. Massively slower than my cbr400 or my vfr400

    I mothballed my CBR1000RR and got a '99 Kawasaki ZX-7R without traction control and ABS. What a colossal increase in driving pleasure. A motorcycle and not a rolling data center with 200 hp. I don't give a damn about these cock comparisons about who has more power and electronics on board. I don't see why I should pay more and more money for a motorcycle that is more and more powerful and therefore needs even more electronics to catch the ponies again. Let's be realistic: without electronic assistance systems, the motorcyclist of the 21st century will immediately lie on his ass. But without me! I'm riding a real men's motorcycle again

      totally agree. the skill and craft of riding is definitely aided by electronics.... if not replaced. i prefer my bikes to be raw

    Of all the bikes I've owned my 1993 Yamaha YZF750R Genesis EXUP was my favourite. Personally I prefer older bikes the feel is so much more in touch with the bike. I've also had 80's bikes like a 1987 Yamaha FZ750 Genesis and a 1986 Suzuki GSX750R Slingshot.

    I've a 1997 kawasaki Gpz500S and 1996 kawasaki Gpz1100E.
    No fuel pump, catalyst, ECU, fly by wire, sensors thin seats, or hard suspension.
    Just easily fixable. Robust. Built to last.
    Ive had many modern bikes. Ridden 1000's of miles in all weathers since 1985.
    80's and 90's are the best bikes.
    Just don't buy a dog or anything Italian. 😂😂

    Older sport bikes are brutal. Fun and fear invoking,that's why I love them ,my first time on one I was like how are these things legal. Now am a proud owner of 1988zx10

    I have a 93 zxr400 and some might see all the things you pointed out as flaws but I think they give a bike character, I certainly have a love hate relationship with mine but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I think modern bikes can be a bit sterile and soulless. Great channel by the way.

      Thanks dude I really appreciate it. I totally agree with the character, the quirks are some of the very best features of these bikes that make riding them so enjoyable. Even though these bikes arnt riddled with tech... I somehow feel like I've gotten more bike out of the mix

    Who knows which kawa had the 2 round headlights back in the i think later 90s? I always saw one of those on my way to school and i thought it looked so amazing.

    Cool video. I love 90s bikes, I currently have a bike from 22, but I'm getting an 90s bike for this summer.
    About the carbs, I always start the bike before I put on my gloves and helmet. When that is done you can go. So you can ride the bike in 30sec or so. :)

      Oh no dude these bikes hate being ridden cold lol.... I find it can be frustrating when everyone in the group is ready to ride but waiting 5 minutes for mine to warm up 😂😂

      @@Ageis86 yea the zxr will move when cold but untill it's warm it won't want to go at a faster pace. Once warm things a rocket and you really can't believe how cool the 90's kids were 😂😂😂 or just how much they had dialed in back then.

    And let’s not forget that the ZXR400 would absolutely whoop a brand new Ninja 400. Almost twice the power and around 20-30mph higher top speed.

      it would absolutely destroy a ninja 400 without trying hahaa...even handles waaayyyyy better than a ninja 400 but in all fairness the zxr aged very well!

      @@Rideitoutyoutube they do age very well, they still look and sound the tits. I started road riding on a CBR400rr and then went on to a SRAD750. I have a CB1000r now, but I still have my old ZX9r C2 to play with. Oh, and a Blade 954 track bike 🤭

    Now at 40 I can finally both afford to buy and insure the bikes I lusted after in Bike Magazine in the 90s.
    Any recommendation for a good sporty 90s bike that a pillion can actually ride as well? I had a Thundercat for ten years, a ZZR 250 before that and (my favourite) TZR125 before that, (and a Fizzy for a year) but I’ve only ridden a Vespa 125 moped for the last few years in central London.

      Ah central London! I work in Dagenham just outside E6 🤘 .... 90's bikes for pillions I'd possibly recommend anything with a more plush seat that's like a bench than a sportier style. The zxr400 I owned would leave a pillion super high up, folded like a deck chair and leant all over my back loading my wrists of my weight and that of my passenger. Zzr600 is good shout though! Just the ulez issue with a 90's bike 😓 they did make a Suzuki bandit 400.... Rare but that would be an absolute gem if you like the smaller displacement motorcycle 👌 they did make a Kawasaki zzr400 aswell dude 😉 also quite rare but they are about!

      @@Rideitoutyoutube I'm planning the move out of London so really want to splash out and enjoy the not so sensible bikes. I might well get a ZZR600 for pillion and something silly (R6, ZXR636 ETC) for just me. Can't wait to get out of Central London and ride some bikes with real power again!

    I don't lnow if those were imperfections, they were made for people that can feel the sqeak of the brake pedal or lever .... well back then, "the Thatcher Era" was quite the golden age of raw bikes and cars. Still having a Honda Cbr 250 RR mc22 from 86, baby screams at 20k like a monster, and you feel it toss and turn from every nook and cranny, but so does a race specked z900 from the 2020 in full race driving... can't really say those were bad bikes, the ones from the past, or more that we were brighter and more focused on driving like a pro than riding like a wanker now and needing electronic nannies....For example I've locked the rear wheel even with a slipper clutch for a skid, and that's close to impossible if you ride decent enough, or abs came in maybe once a year and was not really needed... Traction control is only good if you really muck around and don't use your throttle as it was intended.... In the end we'll build an automated bike, and the rider will still consider himself the greatest driver ever

      I totally agree, rider aids today are becoming seamless meaning you'd never even know half the time that the bike saved you over the skill. Rawness is just beautiful and i find that riding without the aids is also something that's not for everyone. But it's definitely lots of fun 🤘

      @@Rideitoutyoutube I might add that riding without nannies should be mandatory, what will you do if thwy just break on a trip?.... I always consider when my bearing sensons from the car fry out ( no abs, ebd, asr, pressure control, traction control) that you just enter rally mode, a more fun way of riding and a more engaging one, especially now that winter is coming and fools forget about black ice.

      honestly its really not so bad when you know how to ride a bike with no abs. it comes down to feel and experience. abs is a fail safe but the craft of braking itself is really about skill. im actually really disappointed in myself if i feel abs kick in on my newer bikes. its about the finesse of finding that point before abs kicks in. if you can find that then you will actually out brake abs. just dont snatch the front, preload then progress the strength. 90s bikes offer some really good rider machine feedback honestly you should give it a try :)

      my dad had a 92 zx7r..... same thing but his back (and mine couldnt hack it) he street fightered his so he could ride it longer,..... i sold the zxr 400 as i couldnt bring myself to chop it and street fighter it. i miss it though. it was fun!

    Listening to you being scared about not having abs , traction control makes me happy I grew up in the 90s GSXR / Fireblade era , god help you if you rode a real 90s bike or even a 90s 250 2 stroke

      Every time they come to our workshop the bikes are a complete wreck 🤦🏻‍♂️
