- Tanks are nice aren't they? Big hulking steel machines with armor a good deal of firepower, what's not to love? Well, they shouldn't be the ONLY unit you bring into a battle...

rolling with zero recon will get your stuff killed every time.
This was pretty much a truism IRL too.
The thing that really messed up this player too was lack of vision.
Even if you want to do a tank rush (which in this game is grossly inefficient and too all in at the early game) you need mobile recon spotters to increase the engagement potential of your panzers. The tank rush this player does would have benefited greatly from an air recon and some air support or arty to pin down anti- tank guns and enemy infantry.
He only need recon. There's a video: www.bilibili.com/video/av10857957
A chinese player managed to defeat Rank 1st player (US 2nd inf) with 116 panzer. With recon support, 3 star Panzer III will pin down AT gun in 2-3 shots on their own (in this case, use an sdkfz as bait so Pz III shoot first), and harvest inf fast.
I really like your commentary, new to the channel here. I just got Steel Division and have already learned a lot here, so thanks!
Glad to help and welcome to the channel!
These videos can help so much, even if you're already somewhat good.
He already helped me a lot with the War Game videos with understanding different units.
I lost in my first rank battle. LOL
Ended up on a map I have never played before.
Lesson learned - practice on all the maps in skirmish mode with the AI before trying rank battle >_
Planes don’t make an army either
They make an airforce
i have yet to pick up steel division but from what little i had watched on youtube it seemed to me that tanks just dominated everything in this game. infantry was so short range i couldnt imagine them ever killing a tank before they got spotted and picked off from range and antitank guns are so slow that it seemed they could simply be outmanuevered. glad to see that at least to an extent i was wrong.
awalllen212 if the infantry hides in woods and ambushes the tank they could deal with it,
You said that the command M5A1 can't deal with the Panzer III. Why do you think so? He has an AP Value of 8 while the Panzer III has a front plate of 7, so for me, the small command tank is perfectly capable in dealing with the Panzer 3, especially with his veterancy advantage.
8 AP vs 7 armor means 2% penetrate chance at 1000m. 10 AP vs 6 armor means very likely one-hit-kill on same range. With commander boost, Pz3 also have 3 stars, so it's Pz3 have vet advantage.
O boy now I'm glad I pulled an all nighter
thanks for sharing
nice video :)
He should make his own channel, I'm serious, he might become a community contribiutor. Especially if he uploads regularly.
Who?

There is more to just uploading gameplay, the commentary Stealth is providing is great.
panzer 3s are very good A-phase units but going in blind won´t really work (unless you´re enamy go with the exact same mistake of going with only tanks and no recon... but what are the chances right). Honestly while they might not kill much (most of the time, the recon panther might have something to say about that statement) recon units might acctually be the most important unit type in the game.
Bit harsh on the guy. The Deck he is playing with is very light on Inf until phase B. In Phase A really only has tanks unless he completely unbalances the deck.
I've only played about 5 games and hardly touch armor playing as Germans after my first game I had my tiger e nuked by a squad of bazookas and wanted to gut the other player
Angry Guderian noises.
i think in this game if you play tank only you are just the support.
Stealth17 Gaming, have you ever used the mod: Storm in the West'44? If not, why not?
No haven't. I stopped playing this game pretty quickly.
@@Stealth17Gaming Ok. By the way, are you from the Netherlands? You have a particular accent.
Yeah I'm Dutch
This guy plays too much War Thunder.
No. It's the specify of Windhund division. It's decks not exactly fitting to 1v1, especially in A phase. Windhund extremely lacks of infantry.
+LukasAleander1 So the windhund has no recon?
@@Person01234 nah, Windhund acctually have pretty good recon. lots of light recon fighting units like spws and stuff. it does have a heavy lack of infantery in A though it´s like at max 4 pansergrand and like 2 heavy machine guns. it´s really only panzer lehr that has a worse infantery selection. so the way i´d play windhund in a 1v1 is with heavy use of tanks coupled with a lot of recon infantery and recon veichles. still though Windhund is probebly more of a 4v4 divison or so
Used to play Hearts of Iron 3 with Eldanesh - Paradox Community really is small :D
Not sure how familiar you are with Windhund Stealth17 Gaming, but their infantry is extremely limited 2 cards of 2 grenadiers, 1 card of 2 Pz.Gr Fuhrers & 1 card of 2 MG 42 for phase A. He fielded nearly half of the grenadiers he could have and half of his fuhrers.
He should have backed up his tanks with AA or autocannons vehicles
Tanks don't make an army; they make fodder.
Seriously, it's impossible to use them if your opponent has AT. Use the roads, and you're dead. Use the hedgerows, and you get popped from behind a corner. Tanks are supposed to be a spearhead, but it's near impossible to use them without some rock-paper-scissors strategy, with your tanks in the rear on flank-guarding duty it's safer to push with infantry and suppress machine gun fire with artillery than it is to move a single tank up. I've really only ever found them useful for close quarters combat in towns or flanking around trees, and that's if your jumbo survive a 1,000 mile snipe from a panzer 3 to its frontal armour.
Yes, tanks are defeated by anti-tank guns. That's what they're for.
That's why you don't push with just tanks; even a cheap mortar can suppress the AT guns, at which point you move up your infantry, using your tank to destroy whatever holds them back. Unless your enemy has tanks of their own, there's very little they can do to defend against a proper tank push; AT guns are some of the most fragile units in the game, and they're rendered completely useless by artillery, any aircraft (including a simple strafing run) or smoke.
This guy thinks he’s playing COH2
Bazooka is an rpg because rpg stands for handheld anti-tank grenade launcher
It stands for Rocket Propelled Grenade so yeah, technically, but it's same as if you would call m16 an ak because they fulfill the same role
Tanks are just too weak
this gameplay soo bad thet guy with tanks just lose the game in first 2 min
I don't like Steel Division, compared to Wargame Red Dragon this game was a total downgrade
I mean really, it's a WWII game, if there ever was a time to spam it would be this game but nope!
Phaire Couchpotato Steel Division 2 should do better on that account
