Not true, live he sounds exactly the same, you can pick up on all this stuff. Alotta people seem to think it's how this stuff is recorded...well, that IS part of it, but Ethan and a lot of players like him have developed a pretty hard touch, as well. It may not seem that way, bc he and others make it look so effortless, but indeed they're playing with quite a bit of force.

At some times theres so much harmonics and different sounds stacking i keep hearing non-existant phone bells in the background, distractingly AWESOME.

I am not a fan of the sound of an Ovation guitar. They usually sound overly tinny for my taste. BUT this play style on that Ovation sounds amazing.
