Ok I know this video is old and this fandom is very small but I headcannon that wander wrote this song when he met Sylvia. She calls him a “wandering weirdo” and he just kinda takes the name. Playing off of the theory that he’s at least over a thousand years old (he was present for two galactic conjunctions which only happen once a millennium) He changes his name frequently. We know Wander has an actual name, but it’s never stated. When he knew major threat he went by tumbleweed. And now with Sylvia, he changes his name to Wander. So when she gave him the nickname, maybe he made the song to help him get more used to it, or the word “wander” was just on the brain. But he’s also known to spontaneously burst into song so that could also be it. And now my very wordy explanation to a dumb headcannon is forever imprinted on the internet
he's super old but i dont think he's THAT old, the galactic conjunction probably happened on other galaxies maybe thats why he got a new nickname. if everyone alr calls you jake why change your nickname to jakey?

Like how also your missing out on Steven universe and shows that actually have meaning. Although Wander over yonder is over, it will always have a place in our hearts. This is the ultimate cure for depression. There are many great cures for depression this is by far the best.
This show even cheered me up when I had anxiety at one point. I started rewatching the show since last year December and finished the season last month. It was so worth it. One time I was watching the show when I was trying to cope with stressful life because of exams and shit and other personal reasons. The show is also there to flush out suicidal thoughts in the toilet,which is very wholesome to me, hence why Wander Over Yonder will always stay in a place in my heart.
This is my favorite song from season 1. I really like it.

Man, Jack McBrayer does such an awesome job voicing Wander and has an amazing singing voice too! Like the raspy growls he does at 0:33 and 0:35, it's like, "dang, he can sing!" I love male singers with raspy voices. It's really charming! ;)
