    This generation Q7 is such a timeless design. Love the simple styling and design that Audi went with this car, both inside and out. And for those who got the Q7 in 2009 when Audi put that insane 6.0L V12 diesel engine with 500 HP and 738 lb-ft of torque, consider yourselves lucky.

      @@mustasheolll2020yeah some of the older Audis I think look better, which I know a lot of people agree. For example, this Q7, the 8V A3, The 8T A5, the D4 A8. I will say that the current A4, A8, and also the new A3 still look good for me, but the older designs are more timeless in my opinion.

    Mi Q7 is 16 years old with 132k miles on her. The glovebox push button open has never failed. The Bose amplifier just went but the glovebox is good. Oh also you stated that “with the top up, the car has no tail lights.” Oddly enough the smaller lights on the bumper, that seemingly serve almost no purpose other than reverse lighting? Well, they actually become fully functioning tail lights when the hatch is open. I had the car for six months before figuring this out. Cheers 🥂

    • @waitotong9590
      @waitotong9590 8 лет назад +2

      ( Hope you'll be patient enough to read through this)Although I like Audi, I have to admit that since audi is under VW's group, they are the specialist on draining your wallet, especially when you purchase the premium version of that model. Also, as you can see other comments, the 2005-2011 Q7s are not really reliable. Mine was running well for the first 7 years, but on the 8th year when my Q7 reached 270k kilometers, things start to make a down turn. First, the air suspensions in the front collapsed. After I got that fixed and a few months later, it started to leak engine oil. I immediately made a booking for service. The leak got worse everyday. When the day arrived, I drove it to audi. However later that day, Audi phoned me and told me that the engine was already beyond economical repair. He told me that they could replace it with a new one, I initially agreed with him, but when I asked him about the price, I hesitated. He said a new engine would cost me 400k HKD and the labour would cost another 100k HKD( while I originally bought it for 900k HKD!). After I heard this, I reluctantly asked about the trade in price. A few minutes later, he said the maximum price would be around 10k HKD due to high mileage and plenty of things to fix. I asked a few other car dealers and they said similar things other than high mileage. The only place that gave me a higer offer was from a scrap yard unfortunately ( they offered me 30k HKD). Sad to see him go after all those years. He had been my good companion in the rough times of my life.

    • @waitotong9590
      @waitotong9590 8 лет назад +2

      Sorry for making that really long, but here is what I really want to say. It really depence which part of the car isn't working. It can range from a hundred HKD( such as changing the battery of the key) to more than 10k ( replacing the air suspensions or engine, gear box etc), but generally it is more expensive than it rival. Since you are asking about maintenance, I think you are considering to buy one right? If so, you are more than welcome to purchase one, but remember this: if you are going to sell the car to the second hand market, then you should 'kick in' the engine for the first 15k so you can have a few years of enjoyable driving, and remember not to drive over the 180k kilometer-mark where audi and some other car dealers will categorized as 'high mileage', which will further lower the value of your car. Although audi's cars have improved and become more reliable than before, if you are looking for a car that can endure high mileage and able to be driven confidently, probably you will have to choose somthing else.
      ( words above are only my opinion and further research will help you to decide.)

      Please do your research before purchasing. I've had mine for two weeks and it has already costed me 3500.00 . They have drain plugs in the roof when they get clogged the water comes into the vehicle. I had to replace my control panel and my Bose amplifier. These cars look good n drive great but beware. Most mechanics will not fix them. You have to take them to the dealership for virtually everything. If I had of done my research more thoroughly I wouldn't of purchased the vehicle. Checkout the reviews online.

    • @empowermph

      jodirt81 besides the pana roof leak/amp repair, how's your Q7 been so far?

    • @empowermph
      @empowermph 8 лет назад

      RICHARD MAR about how much total so far have you spent on repairs/maint. for your Q7? Im considering a 2010+ just for the LED lights and S line details.
      but for the same price, I could get a LR4. Or for a little more I could get a 2011+ A8 L. Or settle for less build quality but high retention resale value of Jeep Wrangler or Toyota FJ Cruiser. Im so torn.
      My heart has always wanted a Rover, but Audi's design from the Lamborghini team changed the game, sporty driving dynamics, girls love guys driving Audi, it's so choice. better looks than the Cayenne on the same platform.
      All this time researching, the best purchase for heart and mind, it seems to be a wash. Either buy domestic and pay for many cheap repairs, or import and pay for a few costly repairs.
      Some in my family are Benz fans, and they get absolutely raped in unexpected repair costs, $3500 for 1 air suspension pumo, $6000 for engine compressor, totally taking advantage of them. I assume Audi is more reliable and less expensive to upkeep?

    • @empowermph
      @empowermph 8 лет назад

      RICHARD MAR man I don't know what brand makes since to buy anymore, an import with overpriced repair and sketchy reliability, or a domestic with cheap repair but awful reliability. Its like pick your poison. my usual japanese brands are just boring now or designed for women. as reliable as Lexus is, when something goes wrong, repairs costs the same as the Germans, its a wash.

    • @empowermph
      @empowermph 8 лет назад

      RICHARD MAR exactly, my no air suspension options are down to a frugal purchase of 2004 Land Rover Discovery II or a cheap Chrysler Wrangler Unlimited.
      As for designs catered to girls now, turns out, Bloomberg reports that 85% of ALL consumer purchases are made by females, which explains the feminine cars lately, along with a female Jedi and all female Ghostbusters.
      Best for guys to go with boxy overland designs, LR, Jeep, G-Wagen, Hummer, etc. or modern muscle like a Dodge Challenger, obviously a powerful exotic supercar is alpha too. Most else totally made for girls. but damn I love the Q7, even when I see girls driving it, still looks like a alpha male spaceship to me. someday.

    My 07 Mazda 3 has an AUX input. For this to have none is pathetic, it basically renders the stereo useless in this day and age.

    I had a girlfriend who's Dad purchased a brand new one in 2007, after four days the screen in the dash (GPS) stopped working and the key wouldn't work when trying to start the car. He sued Audi because they wouldn't offer him a replacement. Damn Audi. He won so they were forced to give him a new one. I still don't trust them.
