I can’t believe so many animals denied the mole I was sure something would take it but yes they are probably weird to the other animals because nothing really sees or hunts them a lot
things do eat moles, just none of them stopped by(or were hungry enough to want a several day old mole) eh, the decomposers will deal with it eventually
Yeah the yellow trigger on top tells you when you've got a mole, not the fact that it has tossed itself 75 yards onto the deck outside your back door! lol
I caught a mole with the Gopher Hawk last year (thanks for the recommendation), and I left the dead mole on top of the wood pile. It was gone by the next day
This video showed me something that I was not doing right. 2 nights in a row I had I flattened and poked holes in the ground where a mole had dug up dirt. I set 2 of these same traps and sticks in the ground to kind of redirect the moles towards the traps. I also ran the auto water sprinklers to soak/flood the underground so the moles would be on the move. Both following mornings, the traps had been sprung, but no dead moles. As you showed in your video, their tunnels were deeper then just below the grass roots surface. I will have to cut and dig deeper and then set the traps. I thought moles were suppose to be dumb, but the ones in my yard seem to know how to play chess! I have to improve my strategy to get them. I think if I try the exact technique you showed in this video, I'm confident I will have some success.
I feel bad for the mole. This is from Google btw not me- “Moles aren't all bad. In fact, they're 99 per cent good,” Mr Mercer commented, explaining: “They aerate soil. They eat mostly grubs, which are undesirable, because grubs eat the roots of your grass. Then they turn into beetles, which feed on your decorative plants.
@starshipeleven They are invasive species over there like Shawn mentioned in the video. They were originally bred there for their fur but nowadays they are all scattered out. So yeah, it is technically "strange" for them to live in a place they aren't native to.
I have a mole & vole problem in my back yard. I got one of those mole traps with the plunging spikes. I did nail one. I pulled it out, and set it out to see if something would eat it. Nothing ate it the 1st night, but after the 2nd night, I came out and the only thing left was the back feet, which are kind of anchored together and are tough (claws). I frequently have raccoons & possums going thru my yard, and suspect one of those. We also have coyotes & feral cats, but I don't think those would go for such a furry critter. My problem now is that the moles are digging their tunnels along the cement house/garage foundation or underneath my vinyl fence, so I can't get a trap in those places. I don't want to put down poison pellets which might affect other animals.
I've used these myself, they work GREAT, but what I've found to be QUICK CATCHES is when you get it set, just b4 you walk away, take a broom handle and put a hole on both sides of the trap in the tunnel, moles don't like light/holes for light to come in and they must sense the holes and go to "FIX" the holes, they get it when going to fix the "other" open hole depending what direction they are coming from...FYI!!! I've caught moles in less than 10 mins doing the hole method....
Thanks for this video. I’ve watched a couple and haven’t had any luck based on what I’ve seen. Yours makes way more sense. Can’t wait to give it another try!
We lived next to an orchard and every year our yard might have had 6 or 7 mole mounds as they migrated into new territory. But catching just one mole would fix the problem. I always used the Victor mole trap, a pain to set, but it was inexpensive and always did the job.
I had a mole problem years ago and initially had bought that Talpirid mole trap. I didn't care for it as I had to tear up my yard to set the trap and it was a pain to use. I ended up buying some NoMol traps that were much easier to use and worked better in my opinion.
Idk if this is Mandela Effect, but I'm pretty sure that his plush rat is named Petunia, in fact, everytime it's shown I'm like: Hey, there's Petunia again!
they do not eat plant roots; they only cause damage indirectly, as they eat earthworms and other small invertebrates in the soil. However, while moles may be viewed as pests, they do provide many positive contributions to the soil, gardens, and the ecosystem, including soil aeration, feeding on slugs and other small creatures that do eat plant roots, and providing prey for other wildlife.
liked the deer with the asymmetric antlers - most likely a damage to the antler while it still grew. next year itll be fine - unless it hurts the bud again.

Cats won't eat moles and even though they will kill their close relatives ( shrews) they won't eat those either.
That poor deers antler
My favorite part of that buck is in them shoulders, can't eat antlers
Ive had great results with road flares. Open the burrow, light the flare, shove it in the hole, let it burn.... no more mole hills

Depends on if you are growing a garden or if you are in the natural habitat of them as well.
@Zahul Puello I had groundhogs digging out the foundation of the shed. Holes are bad.
That seems a little excessive force for a mole trap. I assume that's to chop through the soil but it also looks like it will chop through moles too.
What's the issue?
Yh we doesn't want to cleave moles in two pieces or 3 pieces

Poison pellets won't work with moles. They only eat insects. Try poisonous worms from Tractor Supply.
