I”m at 10:17 where you’ve just read your journalling This is why I come back to Dec Daily again and again - the in-the-moment journaling that helps to process those tricky feelings that come up in December. The Christmas season has so many expectations, doesn’t it? To feel the joy, to be in the spirit, and yet life still happens - big and little things that rock the boat and our stability. Like you, I’m finding the joy - December Daily is where I put it - things like your story with Betty today. She is a special girl to you, love seeing the joy she brings. I’m reminded that joy is a choice, not a feeling, although I’d like it to be a feeling sometimes. My pup’s name is Lena Joy, she’s a golden - we love her, she’s a gift. Thank you for sharing your reality; I know you always try to choose joy (as do I), but I do hope you feel it this season too. I wish the same for me. We’re in it together 😊 - this DD community, together finding the good, the hope, the fun, the twinkle as you always say, the memories we want to keep while we let go of the ones we don’t. I’m one behind you with DD - did my first in 2008, so I’m doing number 17 this season - they are my favourite albums. Thank you for what you do for this community, for continuing to show up and just being who you are. I appreciate you. Bless you, Ali, have a wonderful rest of a season, with a rest in there hopefully! Debra in Australia
I am struggling and have for the last year since I’ve had two more boys diagnosed with autism. Through ketamine treatments for depression and struggling to stay afloat so as not to have the depression swallow me… I find joy in watching your videos. For the first time two years ago, I did December daily I absolutely loved it. Last year I was too sick to do it, but I’m going back and going to do last years. Watching your videos this year give me hope and determination to find joy again. And Betty makes me happy 😂… she is stinking adorable! I have two fur babies as well and I can find a lot to do with their pictures in December daily. Thank you for being a light in the darkness even when you struggle on the day today with us.❤❤❤
I love this so much!! The gingerbread transparency shaker is everything 😍 thank you for creating this project and amazing community that brings me and many others so much joy ❤
Hi Ali, I don't comment often, but now I do. 😉 I really like this page, I love how miss Betty is looking, and just waiting for her treat. The shaker pouch with the gingerbread men is so cute! I'm so sorry that it's mentally difficult at this moment. That there are too many tabs open. And that finding joy difficult is. Especially in a period when you're are "supposed to be happy", and you are not feeling it. I hear you, I feel you! That's why I wanted to comment today. Just to let you know that you are not alone. And I want to send you love and hugs ❤🫂all the way from the Netherlands.🧡 🇳🇱
Loved the layout! Betty's expression is how my kids look everytime we take a family photo. Thank goodness I had one photo where they actually smiled and that ended up our Christmas card. Ha!
"I'll just do one little stitch right there" Pulls out mountain of sequins mixes! Joy hasn't come as easily to me these days, but I sure love when I get to see it through this lens!! Thank YOU, Ali!
your amazing! I too am feeling less than festive for a ton of different but not horrible reasons and im struggling thinking I am the merry maker for the family of all boys but I just really dont even want to do winter. I just want back in my garden where I do find joy! I did get inspiration from this in the way that our dog is older and he is not well so this may be his last year and I should document him. I also feel your pain of no more lego advent. lol I have 17yr old twins who think im just cringe regardless of what I suggest! lol Thanks for always making it real!
So stinkin cute! I love that Betty got an Advebt Calendar 🎄🐾. Ali thank you for doing this December Daily every year😊. It brings us so much joy and happiness ❤. TFS
I truly hope all is well Ali. I was feeling this way last Christmas after I had found out I had cancer in September 2023 and surgery by October and radiation therapy in November. All my worries while still trying to make Christmas magical for my 5yr and 2yr old. It's a new year and this Christmas I am feeling so much better about myself and my future. I hope whatever is tugging at you can be resolved and you can get some peace. ❤
Thank you - everyone is safe + healthy. There's just a lot of things mixing together and my mental health is trudging along. Tying to keep it real + find moments to make some magic.
Love this festive layout ! I feel like I want to let go of some traditions (stockings) not that the kids are older, but I don't want to disappoint them...
When you said the word stitching all the way around, I was screaming shaker, here in Phoenix. I guess you heard me. What a gorgeous spread for day 16. Betty’s face is adorable. She needs some reindeer antlers for more photos. I love seeing her.
I’m feeling the same… Christmas just isn’t as Fun or Joyful when the kids are grown and moved away. They still visit. But our traditions from younger days is not there.
This is so cute! Betty looks like "please mama! just give me the treats!!"
I love that Betty has an advent calendar!😂

Have you chatted with them about it? They might be more open to it than you know!
@@AliEdwardsDesignInc I think I will thanks !

Yes! I totally wasn't even thinking that until I walked over to the sewing machine. And she does need some antlers!
Love it 😍

Love it!

We gotta make the magic for ourselves (and give ourselves grace to ride the waves of change).
