The Torchlighters: The Gladys Aylward Story | Episode 5

- The missionary who led 100 orphans 100 miles to safety through war-torn China.
With war raging about her and soldiers closing in, the wounded missionary Gladys Aylward (as portrayed in the movie, The Inn of the Sixth Happiness) sets out on the most difficult journey of her life -- a 100-mile trek over the mountains to a safe haven. But it's not her own safety that concerns this little woman with big faith. It's the safety and well being of the 100 orphaned children in her care. Watch as Gladys' strength and faith are stretched to the limit, all for the sake of the children. Torchlighters is a series of animated programs for youth ages 8-12, presenting the lives of true-life heroes from Christian history. When kids see what God can do through a "Torchlighter" who is devoted to carrying out His will and purposes, they too may want to carry a torch of faith by serving Him.

Though I'm actually agnostic and wonder what to believe, I really like stories of faith and hope...the beliefs I have, like balancing science and the Bible plus questioning my sexuality (I'm likely asexually bi) not to mention being autistic, I know a Christian couple on my street who are really nice and they accept me who I am so these stories help reassure me during times of strife

Like thousands of years ago the Bible said God made waters below AND above the atmosphere and it wasn't until recently that they found water on the moon and on other planets just like God said. There are so very many examples like this that prove God inspired the Bible with knowledge we don't have. He is really real and so is His Word and so are the rules He has laid out for us to obey. He is the Creator so He gets to make the rules, not us.

Its such a great show and such a blessing and the one thing that made it difficult to watch was the animation and acting. God uses it inspite of that but its at times difficult to watch 😅
