It’s difficult to find a pianist teacher who can really teach and have methods like you.

This exquisite piece makes the sparkles of bubbling creek visible that
otherwise would have remained hidden. Chapeau!

The practise to get to the spot, stop playing is excellent. Brillant teaching_Thank you_Greenland.

I’m studying all videos that are analyzing this beautiful Ravel Masterpiece and instantly subscribed because I also see you have a video for tips and tricks for La Campanella!! I am happy to have serendipitously come across your channel and look forward to more uploads from you! As a fellow pianist these types of videos are like gold nuggets being found!

    Very well played 👍👍👏👏
And it is always fascinating to know what was in the mind of the performers when they practice. One can learn a lot this kind of thought process. Thank you 🙏

I so appreciated your special insights into this classic. Thank you! I watched a performance recently where he reversed his hands at the three gorgeous (bar 29) sections, so his hands didn't cross each other. It actually works but could imagine how displeased Ravel would be!

"Really interesting really helps when you show the score and your hands at times. The skined finger from glissandos brought back memories of a few extended practices ive had Lol. Thank you so much Dr Lee for all the Piano hand and arm Pedagogy. Very informative and interesting. I will need to watch this video many times.

Thanks so much for the insight. I've been hesitating on starting Jeux d'eau but not now, after seeing this

I am glad! It is more manageable than you’d think thanks to Ravel’s idiomatic writing for our instrument.

I was waiting for her to discuss pedaling, something unseen in performance that I would like to know more about. But soon I gave up.

Nice tutorial. Sorry, but from 0:58 to 1:00 you played (and probably read) a wrong note. The highest note in each of the two G major 7th arpeggio brushes in the right hand is G natural, not G sharp. The difference is subtle, but it affects the color of the chord in question quite differently.

Will have to go back and fix it. Thank you for pointing that out.

Absolutely incredible! I’m trying to learn this atm, incredibly sophisticated. Do you sell any fingered /annotated copies to help students learn? Love to purchase one if you do!

Ravel has been influenced by Spanish music (Jota and Flamenco)… a lot.
