The Rooikat 105 in War Thunder got a serious buff this patch. The Rooikat 105 gets access to the DM33 round which is an APFSDS with over 400mm of pen and hits like a truck!
The Rooikat was already super competitive where it was with DM23 but at 8.7 it's now technically the lowest BR vehicle with access to this type of ammunition.
The Rooikat is a South African Wheeled Tank that is currently the fastest vehicle in the game only just beaten by the Japanese Toyota troll wagon Type 93! To put DM33 in the Rooikat makes it one of the best premium vehicles in the game currently!

Hi BawZ, have you previously done or considered doing a video on your setup? KB/mouse and keybinds? I know everyone is different, but seeing other setups also gives some good ideas how to improve mine.
The Tam2ip also has the DM33 at 8.7
I just spent biggest amount of money for something virtual, but mainly because you get a slice and your extra entertaining videos deserves support. Keep up doing great job.

Unfortunately the tech tree version doesn't get the DM33 APFSDS even though its at the same BR as the Premium. Who would have guessed, huh? lmao

with the same br, the premium is an overpowered pay to win in comparison to the normal one though.
Great decision in making your intro clips separate from the rest of the video. I usually skip intros specifically to avoid seeing spoiler-highlights of the rest of the vid. Your decision to make it a separate game from the rest of the vid eliminates that hassle. Thanks bud!

One of the first premiums I ever bought. Amazing vehicle. Now with the DM33, this thing can chew anything at its br and up. Regularly bring it along with my 10.7 lineup.
Just wanted to point out a mistake when you were comparing it to the Challenger DS, the sl modifier is lower to the Challenger because you got a test drive on it but it has a significantly higher one.
That HESH shot was mad. You made it look easy, even with the rangefinder.

Normal player will only see the first target and stick with it, end up killed by their teammate in few sec

Since the buff this thing has almost ruined 8.7, can barely get out of spawn before there’s a Rooikat/WMA flanked wiping your team.
no idea why its at 8.7 with thermals and dm33. leo l44 was bad enough at 8.7 but at least it wasnt as fast
I am never at 8.7 only almost 9.7 with turms which I would say ruined the game more than the rooikat with the new players making seem bad and ruining the br of 8.7 to 10.0 with all there losses
@@Duffer529 the 8.0-11.0 range of vehicles is very inballanced. Lots of premium vehicles with tons of advantages, while other vehicles struggle at higher BRs or even don't even get the chance of having the same armament capabilities. Ka-50 is still 10.7 with 10km Vikr missiles and can dominate in competent player hands. And seems to get worse, and worse, and worse with eatch patch. Same power creep can be seen in jets as well, where Mig-21s were lowered in BR and can face up subsonic jets at 8.3-8.7 BR (as an example). Gaijin has to start reballancing vehicles by combat capabilities instead of others, otherwise the game will suffer a lot.
@@Insanerobert44 yeah I play Britain and at 11.0 our vehicles seem not at-all good compared to other nations and can even die easily to the premium turms with really slow speeds and our armour seems to feel non existing. The only good thing we have is our Apache with its air to air missiles and I don’t really play jets so idk about them. Compared to a nation like Russia for example which is fast armoured and has a good round with even a 10.0 light tank which almost has a better round than out top one
They really need to give the MTTD DM33 becuause it has to use heatFS all the way to tier 4 theres no early dart . Im suprised the 105 got this shell tho honestly for the same BR as the chieftan MK5 the diffrence in capability is mindblowing and is the only thing that makes 8.7 britian playable .

@@TheLegendaryOsiris because i clearly said they are paper thin and 90mm dont save you, since both vehicles can get 50cal'd everywhere. Plus the rooikat has thermals and the same gun 1 br lower, with premium benefits. 1br lower also means less top tier uptiers filled with modernas, helis etc. Oh and the turret rotation speed is 2 times faster than the rad 90. The ammo racks on the rad are in the center behind the driver, so if you get shot center mass, ya dead. Rooikats are on the side and they dont get detonated as much as the rooikats. The only dissadvantage of the rooikat is the lack of speed. It has slightly less accelleration than the rad, but its still very light, thus not very noticeable. So, taking into concern all of this and talking from personal experience playing both vehciles, the rooikat is a bit too good for the br. And if you consider gaijins logic in br balancing, it would make sense for it to go at least 9.3 or 9.7. Anything above though would be too much
Nice to see that it got DM33. I still kind of wished it had the smaller turning radius from before. The rear two wheels used to be able to turn as well, making the 105 the only variant with the smallest radius out of all the other Rooikats.

can u do a video on the m48 super, its probably one of the least appreciated german vehicles however it has pretty nifty things such as being able to withstand bmp cannons in time to kill them

10:34 Beautiful map design... After caping A, he has a clear line to one of the spawn. On the other, it shows how stupid player base is. You see 2-3 tank getting spawn camped and you still don't chose the other spawn for some magical odd reason.

atleast britian have somthing now because every other tech tree out performed britian at 8.7 8.3 9.0 like it wasnt even competition the chieftans are some of the worst vehicles in this game so its nice to have somthing actually competitive for once and higher on the food chain on a nation that is 90% on the bottom of it .

I might actually get this, I loved wheeled tanks so yeah. Also I have a good line up for this, my crusader MK3 and my spitfire venture. Dream lineup

german TAM-2IP has DM33 too, also at 8.7BR ... better (more reliable) mobility thanks to being tracked instead of wheeled, but Rooikat has thermals and better gun depression as an advantage.
btw, compared to the tech tree TAM the premium 2IP has better shell (DM33 vs DM23) and it is plastered with permanent composite armor (not destructible blocks) and both are at the same BR. crazy good premium vehicle (and pretty much clear P2W upgrade over tech tree variant)

Both should be 9.9 but your sp forgetting the tam2ip doesn't have thermals unlike the rooikat, and the rooikat is also a lot faster.
The Radkampfwagen90 is at 9.7 with the same shell while lacking thermals and it's a whole br higher at 9.7 instead of 8.7. Ot really doesn't make any sense.
Now I am interested to buy the Premium Rooikat 105 because of your good information. I dint noticed that too btw.

Nah I don’t even play Britain but before the buff this thing was mid, the radkampf. Shouldn’t be at 9.7 for any reason though it’s not even viable anymore.
actually the tam2ip also has dm33 while the techtree tam, at 8.7 too had only dm23. Blatant pay to win, its the t55am1-t55a all over again. It took gaijin years to fix that, when will they dix the tam/tam2ip? who knows
it has no thermals, most people taking it out with a 9 or 9.3 lineup as there's realistically only 2 vehicles at 8.7 for Germany. i use it as a backup vehicle mostly
its not the only 8.7 car with DM33, it's bigger brother Class 3p has it too

The Challenger has a better SL multiplier. Yours didn't have the 2x applied because you have it on test drive, I think.

Yeah this one is so much fun, i use it at 10.0 myself as you dont have alot of IFV spam anymore, also i using it together with the jag gr1a and the G lynx its a great combo and i get 8 kill game average

It will be funny and devastating once they add the LYNX and Boxer in the German tech tree. The latter can basically be added as 10 vehicles as there are modules for every kind of stuff and both vehicles have reactive and active protection systems.

now they just need to give the M1 Abrams M833, the XM-1 M774, and the M3 Bradley M919. So they can be on par with other things at their tiers.
The M1 Abrams is better than the Leopard 2A4 in mobility, top speed, reload, armour and survivability and they are at the same br. If the M1 Abrams now gets an ammo buff then what would that make the Leopard 2A4 at the same br which would be worse in every single way now when it already is worser in 90% of the stuff compared to the M1 Abrams.
I can agree with giving the M3A3 Bradley and the XM-1 better shells.

Yeah I got premium tIme from the last event for quite a while and now I have run out I seem to be getting 2k rp or less a match and I will get something like at least 4 kills which would usually get me more.

@@jpw1812 Thats what I do I'm currently grinding 7.7 Germany and I try to build up my SL before I buy the next vehicle but buying and selecting a crew is expensive so then I go back to low tier and grind but the bad thing is the reward is so little with out primium and I don't have any premium vehicles also not every one has time to play games always and so your just stuck at a
slow grind

Y'know, I've probably booted War Thunder only up a couple of times at least a year ago. The most tanks I've played is definitely in Battlefield, and I always click on your videos. Not trying to sound like BawZ paid me, but wanting to show appreciation to the channel. Thanks!
Imma be real. The Rooikat is the only high tier I have. I saw it and had to have it even though I didn't have the British tech tree unlocked at all. And by God it's incredible. And has been since I got it. I got double kills consistently before the buff. So hell. More buffs? Why not. I'll take it.
The german premium light tank TAMIP also has DM33 at 8.7
but it doesnt have thermals and is half the speed

If your games were ok, and if you where if you will, between like, 8th to 4th place, you would have been fine.
Your rewards after the game would have been somewhere arpund 100,000SL.
