Victor picked me up from the airport a few days ago in Guayaquil and drove me to Cuenca. Yesterday, he drove me around and showed me apartments, then helped me negotiate a great bargain with a landlord for a beautiful place near Parque Calderon that had not been advertised for rent yet. I highly recommend him to anyone needing transportation or assistance with any of his services. He's extremely bright, trustworthy, and a good traveling companion with a comprehensive knowledge of Guayaquil, Cuenca, and Ecuador. Thank you for the informative videos, Don!
We had Victor drive us from Cuenca to Ballenita. The most enjoyable long distance drive I've ever had! Victor is engaging, entertaining and kept the conversation going which allowed the kilometers traveled just slip by.
Great video Don. It can be a little daunting trying to set up transportation in Ecuador for travelers. This is very helpful. I might be giving Victor a call to show me around Cuenca once I arrive.
Glad it was helpful! I recommend people do like I did. Before my arrival, I made arrangements for Victor to come get me on my second day and take me to get my Tranvia pass, show mw around some, get me to the grocery store to get some food and we managed all of that in a little under four hours. It was worth every penny paid. -ds
All I've heard is that if you're in a taxi as an expat and there is an accident, you'd be well advised to leave the scene and don't get involved. I don't know how much this is true.
No flights. I'd have to go through Quito and that would take too long. When the new Ecuadoriana Airline arrives next summer, we'll have daily flights between all of these regional locations.
Fisherman? to fish what? , there is absolutely no fish in that river, the only fishing yo do in on the trout farms and them provide you with the fishing stuff 😉
After watching other videos on Cuenca, yes there are ride share apps. However, not all areas are covered by Wi-Fi specially the far flung tourist areas. I can see how someone like Victor comes in very handy with a reasonably priced service.
Don, Great info. Do you know if he will allow clean well trained furfaces like us in his cars? Mom likes to take us everywhere she can and we are wondering how hard it will be to do that. Victor looks like nice man. Thanks, Luna and Rebel

Don, I’ve heard in Ecuador if there is a injury accident ALL involved go to jail until it’s all sorted out??😱
Yeah. Never involve the police unless it is unavoidable.
All I've heard is that if you're in a taxi as an expat and there is an accident, you'd be well advised to leave the scene and don't get involved.
I don't know how much this is true.
Why didn't you fly from Manta to Cuenca?
Via Quito that might have taken more than a day, depending on connections.
No flights. I'd have to go through Quito and that would take too long. When the new Ecuadoriana Airline arrives next summer, we'll have daily flights between all of these regional locations.
great information.
Glad it was helpful!
Good connection !
Glad you think so!
Don. awesmoe ~;)
so does he pickup and/or drive people from airport to Cuenca and back? we are coming to Ecuador this summer and maybe we can use him as a driver.
Yes he does.
lol! You missed the chance to find out where the fishermen get their stuff 😉
Fisherman? to fish what? , there is absolutely no fish in that river, the only fishing yo do in on the trout farms and them provide you with the fishing stuff 😉
Like Carmen said.
I'm sure glad your not like your neighbors on Manta who skim commissions from the Ecuador small business owners in order to provide phone numbers.
No other ride share apps like UBER, LYFT or GRAB in Cuenca?
Indrive, uber and didi Indrive is the best cuz you input the fair if drive wants that price they accept always cheaper than taxi in my opinion
Whatever.
No. Call Victor.

I bet he would but you might want to drop him a line just to be sure. Pupper doggers need good transportation too.
When I was in Cuenca, I was looking for Viktor lost his contact number.
Now you have it (in the description). Don't lose it!
