Love the Ghost series. Picked up my 15s on Amazon. Disclosure: I have plantar fasciitis, high arches & a pricey set of custom orthotic inserts from my podiatrist. I use these shoes for running, power-walking & my daily driver. Incredibly comfortable, supportive and durable. These shoes are responsible for getting my 64 yr old body "back in the game". 🏃♂
I ran my first marathon in the Ghost 12 in 2019. I found the 12mm drop helped as I got back in running shape after taking a decade off. Really promoted mid/fore foot striking. I only retired the shoes at 750km mostly since I had too many shoes and I had started to wear the outsole in the mid foot smooth. I think I have used it once this year outside and once on treadmill, and it still felt ok. And didn't experience the feeling of crashing in on the medial side that most shoes tend to do once they hit 500+KM for me.
This review is spot on, I recently bought me a pair of ghost 15's and I really benefit from/ enjoy the slightly firmer ride. I'm about 215lbs so this shoe is perfect for long easy runs and the foam never goes flat. Super smooth and supportively comfortable all the way through. Best daily I've had to date
Not sure if the 15 will reach our shores, but if not I'll try to snag the 14 on discount. Had a pair of glycerine 18 (my first and only Brooks) and it has been truly reliable. It logged the most miles from my shoe rotation to date. And now, even if retired, it still is very comfy to be used casually. That experience made me interested in buying another pair of Brooks for base mileage.
An even better Brooks shoe to consider for a mere $100 is the sadly overlooked Revel (not to be confused with the NB Rebel). It’s an 8 mm drop, quite lightweight, good-looking and equally well made, super comfy and pretty fun. Moreover, it’s nice looks and comfort make it great for running-while-traveling. Very few YT-ers review this shoe but when it does get reviewed it’s overwhelmingly positive. In this age of too many shoes to review, I’m chipping in my 2-cents to recommend at least as a great budget option with a lot of versatility.
I wore various generations of Ghosts for years because they were ridiculously comfortable, hard wearing and reliable - they kept the feet happy over longer distances. Ultimately I just found them a dull ride as I discovered some newer shoes but still wear older pairs of Ghost 14s for going to the gym or just going about daily life. They are seriously comfy.
Yeah I prefer my ghost 14s for walking and gym workouts or maybe a quick indoor run on a track at my rec center. It’s meh for me for running but very comfortable for everything else.
I wore the Launch6 on my 1st marathon in 2019. It did the job-I got a BQ. That was just when the shoe-plosion was starting and while I wouldn’t choose it now, I’ve had the Hyperion Tempo in my rotation ever since, had some good shorter distance race times in it and will always keep a pair around so long as they don’t change it for the worse. I find the Brooks’ uppers among the most comfortable and the outsoles the most durable aside from adidas. They just aren’t quite being very competitive with their midsole foams overall. I thought the Aurora prototype which I tested to be pretty exciting but they haven’t come out with something yet that truly makes good on that promise in my opinion.
Thanks for the review. Love my Brooks Ghost 13. I don't mind the 12mm drop at all. Like the colors on your pair, hope they make it available in the U.S.
Been a fan of the Ghost shoes for years, think my first pair were the 9's. Yes they're definitely a daily running shoe, good for recovery runs. As you said not for racing but will build up with the miles. All my Ghosts have lasted up to around 650-700 miles. Never had a pair fall apart, a solid shoe.
Really pleased to see your review on this shoe. I had two Ghost v13's and never got on with them. In fact, I'm convinced that the 12mm drop in them gave me plantar fasciitus - which was relieved by getting into the Nike Invicibles. Wish I could have enjoyed the goodness that this shoe seems to offer. Great work Mr Bud.
@@muralikarthiekk2695 It was for me. Tried to pairs, same result. Tried a 10mm drop, bad, but not as bad, and with other shoes with less drop, it went away.

Chris at Weartesters has a running joke about the “left shoe factory” since Jordan quality is so inconsistent, even between two shoes in the same pair.
Exactly what I wanted to know about this shoe. I tried a few shoes this week, including the Ghost 15, but forgot to actually put 'em on my feet and walk around the store a bit. I also wear an 11 (US) and the Ghost 15 felt lighter than 11 ounces. The midsole squish between my fingers felt a bit like the UA Hovr midsole, which is a good thing. I still like UA Hovr running shoes, although UA has mostly gone into the lifestyle/casual wear thing. The Ghost 15 might have changed my mind about the new Under Armour Hovr Turbulence, which felt great in the store. Thicker midsole and forefoot than the Hovr Sonics that I've just about worn out, but very familiar otherwise. I considered another pair of Pegasus 39 but, as you noted, the quality control issue. Love running in my Peg 39, but the right side forefoot air cushion protrudes slightly more than the left, making the shoe uncomfortable to walk in for long -- pressure on the metatarsals, but only while walking. For some reason it hasn't bothered me on runs up to 8 miles so far. I considered the Adidas Supernova 2, since I still like my older Solar Boost and Primeknit minimalist shoe with thin Boost midsole. I like Boost for easy runs, especially when my feet ache a bit. But the Supernova 2 combines a fat wedge of Boost in the heel (which is a good thing) with a Bounce forefoot, which felt thin and cheap. And the innards are more cushy than necessary. Feels more and more like Adidas has given up on Boost for real running shoes and is pushing it more into their walking, casual and lifestyle shoes. Some of my friends who don't run love 'em for that. But I still appreciate a *good* Boost shoe for easy runs. The Supernova 2 was almost a good Boost running shoe, but they fluffed it up with that Bounce forefoot.

Ed, did you recently walk into a running shoe store and say " I'm new to running and I'm not sure what shoe would work best for me?" Because this is what literally everybody who says that, walks out of the store with.😂🤣
Despite my dislike of some of the previous models, I do have to admit that it's a good shoe for beginners. Very simple and you know what you're getting. Also very readily avaliable.
Got Ghost 13 in my daily shoe rotation along with Pegasus 36, Pegasus 37 and floatride Energy 3. There no arguing that the ghost is built well, but I tend to be drawn to other shoes for faster and more interesting runs. Typically use it as a easy run shoe.
I get that a brooks is a good solid reliable first run shoe for beginners but 12mm drop is high if they did a 6-8 mm model of similar build quality I reason they could get a winner on there hands also lose some of that foam around heel and tongue and boring design
Do you think replacing the insole is worth it or would it ruin the fit and feel? I grabbed a pair of these and got some sof sole airr orthotic insoles for them. They feel good with the insoles. A bit better than the stock ones. But I feel I'm changing how they're supposed to fit. Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure about Brooks overall, haven't tried any of their shoes, but I've mostly heard that it's a pretty 'meh' brand and a couple years behind the top brands in the game
Edd criticise the Brooks Ghost 15 to at your peril it will come back to haunt you. Yes Brooks always seem to get a raw deal from reviewers . I had the Ghost 10 even my cocker spaniel dog could destroy it so well was it made. Ten times better than the shoes offered by Nike in the same bracket.
They have definitely been adding lots of new colors here in the US. I’m glad they haven’t “updated it” yet because I think it’s a fabulous shoe as is. If they do update it I hope it doesn’t change for the worse.
For me Brooks Ghost is quite average and somewhat heavy shoe. One of the last shoes to keep 12mm drop. I am surprised Brooks updated Glycerin 20 (plus 2 different uppers) with DNA Loft v3 (which is the actual nitrogen infused foam from Brooks Aurora BL) and left this one behind. Yes, it is an upgrade from previous foam but why keep this shoe one generation foam behind what they already have on Glycerin defines logic. There are better, lighter shoes for the same price. I would get Brooks Hyperion Tempo instead of this one. Same great upper but another nitrogen infused modern foam (DNA Flash) One positive with Brooks is the uppers. They do it well and churn so many colorways like candy. The step-in comfort is well too. As you pointed that is largely due to insole for this shoe. Wait until it gets flattened over 100 or so miles and you will start feeling lack of cushion in the forefoot.
@@EDDBUD I know I am a bit hostile to the shoe, but I know Brooks can do a lot more with the technology they got in hand. I am a bit disappointed. BTW, you probably responded while I was updating my post above. I added a few more points. I am looking forward to your 100-mile review and tell us how the midsole feels then.

I enjoyed my initial miles very much! Little to dislike here.
Hello Mate !
Is the Ghost 15 more cushioned than the reebok energy 3?
Thanks
Bit more firm than the energy 3.
Amazing shoes. In europe it's 150 euros, what the hell it happened tot he world to call them "value" at this price
Value in terms of that they will last ages
Will they ever update the Hyperion Tempo, or play it safe and keep the same shoe in different colours for the next decade?
They have definitely been adding lots of new colors here in the US. I’m glad they haven’t “updated it” yet because I think it’s a fabulous shoe as is. If they do update it I hope it doesn’t change for the worse.
It’s one that never goes away!
WHY a 12mm drop? Just...why?!?
For heel striker beginners. It's actually very clever because it keeps consumers loyal to the line year after year
Imagine caring about heel drop in 2022
10mm drop:....crickets....
12mm drop:.. WHAT! They have gone completely nuts!
@@keyboardbw LOL. RIGHT?!
Nice shoe
Same great upper but another nitrogen infused modern foam (DNA Flash)
One positive with Brooks is the uppers. They do it well and churn so many colorways like candy. The step-in comfort is well too. As you pointed that is largely due to insole for this shoe. Wait until it gets flattened over 100 or so miles and you will start feeling lack of cushion in the forefoot.
Not everyone wants a very simple less supporting shoe like the Hyperion tempo
@@EDDBUD I know I am a bit hostile to the shoe, but I know Brooks can do a lot more with the technology they got in hand. I am a bit disappointed.
BTW, you probably responded while I was updating my post above. I added a few more points. I am looking forward to your 100-mile review and tell us how the midsole feels then.
@@TolunayOrkun I hope it’s one of those midsoles like the lightstrike pro that get better and better 👍🏼👊

❤👌👍🏻👍🏻
I couldn’t be less interested £130 😂😂😂😂 who buys brooks shoes??!
Lots of people by all accounts
@@EDDBUD they need education so many better daily trainers at that price point
Most of your constant references to other models are of little value. If we don't know about those other models.... what value do those remarks have?
Not sure I follow? I make lots of videos and relate to other experiences I have in other shoes. If I talked about the other shoe for 5 minutes the video will be hours long
It is very expensive shoes 😊
it just feels plain Jane. thought the Cliftons were better
The Clifton’s were uncomfortable to me. Very unlike these
It is very expensive for a daily shoe
Depends on how long it lasts really?

About £135 I think
The Ghost is one of my regular every day grinder shoes now that Brooks absolutely messed up the Adrenaline GTS
Not tried the other model, the Ghost is a nice solid daily for me.
I like ghost 15’s, but I have emailed Brooks a few times and they keep giving me the same BS about extra wide. They only offer extra wide in two colors. So I have been wearing black shoes for years because hardly anybody makes a 4e I wish they would make it in a few more interesting colors. They give me some cue card rhetoric every time I email them about it.!!! Step up to the plate Brooks and help us out!!!!!!!
I am a little amazed at the limited runs of certain shoes. Why not make a few in different shades? Maybe cost issues I suppose
This is the number #1 shoe for people working in the health care industry.🩺💉
I’m seeing more Hokas in the medical field here in Cali. Bondis especially.
@@montesquieu5180 I work for the airlines and when I'm walking thru the airport , I see alot of elderly passengers wearing the Hoka Bondis. Believe or not in some health plans that shoe is covered by Medicare.
@@jefreywith1f924 I get a yearly uniform allowance and I’m wearing the Hoka kaha gore tex at work. I have to be in all the elements and they are very comfortable. I’m seeing more Hokas at work lately.
I was going to say Brooks and HOKA may be tied for this category
