Best idea ever! But if they pull a kittens legs, then I think they should be there for longer and the... thing, should do weird things with its face...
@ImpmonX Ah, facetiousness is a difficult thing to convey in a text-only medium. I was really disappointed with Beowulf. There was no reason he couldn't have made it with live actors backed up by CGI. Instead, the not-quite-right facial expressions and lip syncing bugged me enough that I've never been able to watch it all the way through. I will admit that he improved with A Christmas Carol, though. He took a more stylized approach that backed away from uncanny valley.
@ImpmonX The horror reaction I was expecting isn't really a function of morality or common sense, it's much more visceral. People tend to instinctively find things that look almost (but not quite) human to be extremely disturbing. Google "uncanny valley" to see what I'm talking about. It's a big reason there was such a negative response to The Polar Express movie.
@MrClickity It was just a joke, and i am very much aware of the uncanny valley theory. Its been 7 years and Robert Zemeckis still can't eat the fact that most people can't stand his borderline dead zombie movies... wonder what's up with him? Can't he feel disturbed by his own creations?
For some reason I'm not creeped out, I just feel bad for it.
it's a machine lol
I love how he made a reference to hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy! 42!!!
You know why those people survived getting close to this thing? IT HAS NO HANDS TO STRANGLE THEM.
PURGE IT IN FLAME!!!

It's truly beautiful but I think we're really crossing the sci-fi border with this one
this is horrifying and sad at the same time
Best idea ever!

Seriously, why is nobody in the audience horrified at this crime against nature?
