  • Flanged and flued expansion joint is a critical component of fixed tubesheet shell and tube heat exchanger. This video shows how to design an expansion joint in AutoPIPE Vessel. The calculation of stiffness and stresses in the expansion joint is performed in accordance with TEMA 9 guidelines using the Finite Element Method. The user can analyze the stresses in the expansion joint along the predetermined stress classification lines by simply entering the expansion joint geometry in the GUI. The user needs no prior knowledge of FEA, there is no need to mesh or use separate post-processing tools as the software automatically generates the mesh, calculates stiffness, defines the stress classification lines as per TEMA guidelines, calculates stresses, performs stress linearization, and compares the linearized stress values with code allowable and present the values in the report for all the tubesheet load cases and conditions. The software automatically applies the axial shell membrane stresses and hillside pressure from tubesheet calculations for obtaining the load conditions for the expansion joint stress analysis.

    hi , good working .
ı want to ask questions for desing of pressure vessel i want to change yeild stress how can i do ?
    thank you
