Dang Kelly!!! So this is way over my head but I still like to watch and learn. 😄 Plus it helps when Joe dumbs it down for me to understand it better 🤣 So excited for you! Looks awesome! ❤️🐞
i had a guy renbuild my 32rh only had first and reverse. he made it manual valve body, he remove a little freeze type plug out of the valve body and had me install in the trans port.I have about 6 good trips on it so far so go
I built a 46re just stock and that was to complicated. Transmissions take a lot of mechanical experience. All those hours of headache payed off. Great video.
Set pressure isn't so bad once you get used to what causes harsh shifts and what'll smooth them out (sometimes more throttle is the answer). Acknowledging they're not for everyone, I street drive my truck with CRT reverse manual set at 195 PSI and love it
I’ve always been scared to attempt a rebuild but I’ve done a few swaps. Actually tossed a tf999 for an aw4 in my Jeep. It’s nice for overdrive but it’s super long and makes for a short driveshaft.
My son’s CJ5 is a 3-speed manual. But I could see this as a potential future mod. Hopefully it wouldn’t be too hard to mate up to a 4.3L Vortec engine.
I wish I had found your valve body sooner and not waste time and money on the transgo shift kit. Really like it so far. Has been awesome for the slow rock crawling👍🏻
i run a 32rh too, was looking to replace it with a 42rle or aw4 but i was told this is a stronger transmission, but with 35s 410 gears and the 3 speed at 70 mph I'm about 3200 rpms and my gas mileage is about 8 mpg...so i really wish i had the overdrive, cant do a manual with my bad knees i cant do the clutch all the time...and my friends with manuals are putting clutches in once or twice a year... hope you did the vent relocation... give us an update on the drivability of the manual shifting configuration.
Is the jeep automatic the same as Chrysler 904?? In my pass I rebuild 727 and 904 still got tools for clutch pack I got a 90 yj automatic would like to improve shifting I use the b&m kit before please help identify automatic
Most of the internals are interchangeable between the Jeep 32rh, the 727 and the 904. Oregon performance transmission has parts and also cope racing transmissions. That’s where I got all mine for the rebuild and upgrades.
So question? If I wanted to change/upgrade my transmission in my Jeep. I can I tell what's compatible and what's not? Also... My 1994 Jeep YJ is a 5 speed standard and I would like to put an automatic transmission in so my spouse can drive it when I'm not around.. and I tried teaching her to drive standard but didn't really didn't like it. So I would someone know what I can put in without a shop trying to screw me over??
I know a lot of the issues with the aw4 is cooling and it doesn’t have the aftermarket support the torqueflight transmissions do. I know they build up the e340’s for huge hp. E340’s and the aw4 are the same platform but I am not sure what parts are compatible.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I've been curious for the last couple of years about what parts mix and match but still haven't gotten any definite answers on how to set it up correctly. I've got a 4.7 turbo stroker motor that I've been buildig for the last couple of years, finally got it dynoed 690hp and 725ft lb. @20psi on pump 91 and a water to air. Just need a tranny combo that will play nice with it.
Man that’s awesome🤟🏻 kinda depends on what you are going to do with it. I would probably do a trans adapter and run a built th400 or 700r to reliably hood up to that. You could build up the 32rh to handle it but I think it would get pricey and you would still have only 3 speeds.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I've been wanting to keep it a 4 speed and debating on if its worth it to build the AW4/E340 Frankenstein or just caugh up the cash for a 4l80e swap, it just adds another layer of complexity, all the stuff you save money on by building the AW4 hybrid correctly, I could get a decent 4l80e that i know will handle the power but then gave to get all the other supporting mods ; converter , bellhousing adapter plate, new drive line, crossmember...etc. either way they're about the same price but at some point its no longer a Jeep, and just becomes a tube buggy after like 10 iterations. @@badsob83 Hold on. That is insane and that is almost literally identical almost to the first long held 4.0 stroker world record that was beaten a year back or so by the original record holder, you can y/t it if curious. I have had a tone of xj built them all nd know them very well, but never built a stroker yet, YET, lol. Forgive me those dyno numbers you just threw out are not "unreal" it's just that idk man, I really want to know the stroker build sheet you created or followed. I only give pause or wonder about this for a couple of reasons. The AW4 is supposedly pretty much maxed out when approaching 400 hp or greater the bands, valve body, pump etc. just cannot handle it. Even with upgraded valve body transgo shift kit, etc. I used to work for PTC (Premier Torque Converters) out near Mapple Valley, Black Diamond in Washington state ( my home ) next to green river valley meats. PTC is owned and associated with TRC (Transmission Rebuild Center) so this is partly why I wonder how on earth you built that monster and didn't immediately break your AW4. I can tell you this to try to help you out, TRC are the one of the better ones you want to call and ask about upgrading or the best options for upgrading your AW4 to its strongest potential. You can have or request PTC to sauter your stater fins in you torque converter and use the highest quality friction locks ( forgive me I can't remember if that's their technical name) that they can get for it and then grab a bigger tranny cooler usually certain smaller older rv ones work well availableat O'Reilly, this would all greatly help your AW4 along with a Transgo shift kit as a must. I just didn't or don't see how you could obtain that hp and ft lbs TQ, without at least 6-9-12k ish in a stroker, but that might be what it cost you. You do have a turbo however, I would think you need a tubocharger and direct fuel injection to hit the hp you spoke of is all. I would very much please like to know your formula? One last thing please do not be offended by this all, I am just legitimately curious as to how, and how the heck I can do it two!😁
Don't get any better for wheeling, all the time wheeling. Well depends on if you care for manual at all, most wheelers I've meant are manual fans just not for offroad. Those are all opinions though, but hey opinions are like as$holes, everybody has one and they all stink to others🤣👋

I like the reverse shift. My 3 speed is sketchy when you need to bailout in 1st.
It’s awesome seeing all the stuff you do, I’m from the Pacific Northwest too, you put out relatable content and I love it

I want to do this to my Jeep so badly. Can you tell me please how budget do I need?
Very cool brother, i learn a lot , here in Africa mmmmh difficult to get parts like thats.

central valve body ,e bay store great product good price ,i bought for a 46rh very happy ,
Great job Kelly , I'm glad that you finally got it to work . Looking forward to some off Road videos now. Take care and be safe sir.
Thanks, hopefully taking it out next weekend

I watched it. I think I understood about 10% of all the crap you just did. Still, like the channel. Can’t wait to see you wheel it.

Love the video! Glad u finally got it in and working, looking forward to seeing it in action, I think u will like the auto in the rocks!

I watched the videos. Love the skill set You have 💪. For me, this job surpassed the number of parts I will touch on one project 😂😂😂😂
🤣 Thanks man
I'm glad to hear this content is making you some cash, keep it up Muddy!

Great job, Kelly! Love your channel and the Jeep. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I've been excited to see this
well done!!!
What exactly does the Accumulator do? Seems to just fit loosely in its home.

How did you get your transmission refilled?
Through the dipstick tube.

Do you have a link to the exact valve body you used thank you in advance

I know you did yours in a YJ 32rh do you know if there is a difference in the TJ 32rh
I believe they are internally the same so it should work fine, just an updated pcm and different tcc wiring.
I was always curious if you could beef up an AW4 or if you could swap it out for an E340 out of a supra and have it work in a jeep

For his application that wouldn’t make much sense at all

The T400 is a great transmission... but it would cost me thousands of $ in transfer case/adapters and drivelines to make it work.
