I have this same exact iMac purchased in 2019 from John Lewis. Still works amazing for editing 4K video in iMovie, web browsing picture editing and even games. I sometimes wish it had an SSD and 16gb ram but for now it's still a great machine.

Yo bro I have the same IMac and what’s the difference of iMovie and the rest of the apps that make you pay to edit your videos ?? What is IMovie missing out on ??? Compared to Final Cut Pro or Adobe Products ?? Thanks

Seriously considering getting one of these. It’ll be my first Mac. How’s it still holding up for you?

    This is so helpful! Thank you!! I’m between a iMac with a 2017 Core i5 (3.0GHz - HDD 1 TB - 8GB) and a 2019 Core i3 (3.6GHz - HDD 1 TB - 8G)-which would you choose?

Depends on what ur doing. For both, you definitely want to buy an external SATA SSD and boot off of that.

Hi! Considering the SAME computer--how is it holding up with your editing software?

It gets the job done no problem. I work off my external SSD and it’s been great for me.

I got an offer for one of these at $300, might be worth getting. Never owned a Mac of any kind so it will be interesting.

I just bought a 2017 iMac. If I want to upgrade to the newest os (Ventura) do I need to get an SSD card? Or can I just download it onto the iMac?
