Grant monies are in a separate budget. For her to raid the grant budget would be a blatant misappropriation of funds that would be impossible to hide. Not saying she wouldn't do it. But it would be an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Some of their health insurance claims weren’t paid because the premiums weren’t paid & I think the city/village was responsible for that.

I don't know of any legitimate company that would do work without knowing the process of the municipality they are doing the work for, especially one that has so many controversies. Most companies KNOW there is some sort of bidding process or SOMETHING for doing any work, (definitely getting something in writing) so that they have a contract/paper trail to get paid legally!

Everyone wants to know why she isn't in jail. The governor has already stated he has no interest in pursuing her. And the FBI will take months and probably over a year to investigate. She isn't facing any jail time until at least 2025 and probably 2026. By that time, there won't be any money left.

Each cut costs X amount. That means, we can do X amount per month.
Divvy that out. Check each day.

Why do trustees have to reach out because once that's done they become a target just my observation from previous meetings & terminations.
So, the dude's company got hired by the City w/o board approval, he did the job, and now he wants to be paid. He should've known that his hiring process was illegal. The mayor is an agent of the City and she hired him on behalf of the City. At the same time, board members apparently knew he was doing work and didn't stop him. I'm no attorney, but IMO the City is gonna lose this one.

It sounds as if the board has a budget of $30,000 per month at $35 per cut budgeted.
That means, 857 lawns can be mowed.
Have lawn mower contractors contact the town at the end of each day they mow, telling how many they mowed that day.
Give them the count the township is at, each morning.
Let them know the limit is 857.
When they know the township can’t do any more lawns for the month, the contractors won’t be upset when the money isn’t in the budget, and the board will know, each day, who is cutting, and the amount each vendor has cut.
The board needs more accountability in tracking.

Maybe things are different in Chicago Land, but why are they paying all these "vendors" to cut residents grass? Why aren't the residents responsible for their OWN yard work? Just asking out of curiosity. It seems to me that this village/township pays for so many things that residents should be taking care of their selves. Can someone explain how that works up there? I live in the south, we do our own grass/tree cutting.
