    Another great video guy's. We dont have much snow over here, but apart from that, a lot of the same rules apply for targeting mink. Set at pinch points, features, and travel area's of least resistance.

      Thank you for the kind words! I'm one of the good people that make the show (the big ugly one!) and my darling wife says thank you as well.

    They don’t fetch much money but mink sure are fun to trap! I always set for them on my trapline. The best part about them is if you set up enough boxes it’s very rare you get completely skunked on a check!!

    We have invasive mink here in the Highlands of Scotland along our rivers and streams. Methinks I'm going to try some of your informative tactics if that's ok with you?

    that little tool for the RAM springs is a real good idea. I watch a video where the spring got free and i could just imagine taking that in the snout. ouch!

    Rich just curious why don't you put more than one box in good looking locations? like your opening set.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  4 года назад

      I do have double ended boxes with 2 traps at some spots but they have never taken a double. Mink seem to be solitary here and it might be days or a week or more between mink visits.

    • @johnbailley4468
      @johnbailley4468 4 года назад

      @@TrappingIncTV Rich I mean 2 separate box's.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  4 года назад

      @@johnbailley4468 I do sort of. I'll often put a box on the next beaverdam in the creek and that might be 100 yards or less away. Not very often do two mink travel together so spreading things out ups my chances. Cheers!

    Great video about adapting to changing conditions on your trapline. Do you ever find a condition in some mink called “cotton mink” where the underfur is white? I have trapped for decades, and every mink has been a pleasant surprise. There are few mink around and many raccoons, so setting for mink usually results in catching a raccoon. After freeze up the traps sit idle, until a little warm up and then more raccoons.
    I wish that I could laugh as easily as you. My wife and I used to be like that, but no more.
    Best wishes.

      I have never seen a cotton mink! I look at it like this: When I get up in the morning I can either think I'm happy or sad. Either way I'm right. For me its all between my ears and if I think I'm happy I am. There are always far worse things that could happen to me then the few troubles I have!
